- Leading figures from the seven UK political parties have taken part in the BBC election debate.
The politicians clashed over the economy, armed forces, NHS, immigration and climate policy.
The line-up included Conservative's Penny Mordaunt, Labour's Angela Rayner, Stephen Flynn from the Scottish National Party, Liberal Democrat's Daisy Cooper, Green Party's Carla Denyer, Plaid Cymru's Rhun ap Iorwerth and Nigel Farage of Reform UK.

It’s the way our electoral system works, first past the post has made the Tories and Labour complacent, while smaller parties like the Liberals and Reform (the latter of which is polling within 2% of the Tories) get left with barely any seats despite achieving a higher vote share than the SNP

For the last 14 years Labour have been a shambles and offered no opposition. If Labour get in I fear for the UK's economy. The grass is not always greener on the other side. All most people want is honesty and truth, not some tosser who can't or won't answer simple questions. I want a Prime minister who puts Britain and the UK people first. How many times do these people get asked a question and then rabbit on about some crap ignoring or evading the question all together. Maybe just maybe Nigel and The Reform Party can do this, I'm willing to give them a chance depending on their manifesto. The UK is still a great country and I am proud to be British. For many years I have voted Tory because for me I thought Labour were worse. Not a great way to cast a vote is it but I really do not want Streeting, Rayner or dippy Abbott in any kind of power. They act like as the sitting government they have no control over immigration numbers. The rate of immigration is determined by how many visa applications get rubber stamped and how effective border security is. Both things the Tories have been in charge of for years. If they actually wanted to reduce immigration they would have and could have done it long before now.
And Labour are even less likely to reduce immigration. All it takes is one twitter user to tell them it's racist and they'll back down immediately.

Our country hasn’t just been in decline over the past 14 years, this flip flopping between Labour and conservatives has been a continuous downward spiral and there’s no evidence to suggest it won’t continue to do so. Do you really have to mock people for wanting change? Even if that change doesn’t work out it’s always better to try than continue to do the same thing over and over expecting different results.

No houses, a failing NHS, a military that is now considered more of a home guard by our allies, growing poverty, increased inflation, workers rights and the right to protest being chipped away, increasing crime rate, mass immigration (depending what you believe) and now they’re calling for national service 😂 honestly the UK is a failed state. Independence for all countries in the UK is the only viable option.

My advice to anyone is that if you voted Brexit and feel betrayed by the failure to deliver a full Brexit and are annoyed at Labours 43 attempts to stop Brexit then vote for the Reform party.
