- My Fiat Argenta 120ie 1985 on Nordschleife. Lap 4, BTG 10.05.
Hot day, 31deg C.
Ignition coil on it’s way out, ~10hp missing
Almost catching up Mischa (Apex) & friend at the last corner.. (a white 911GT3RS).

Thank you, the most fun car I have! I did bump into Misha just after this very lap, so he has a clip with us talking about my car a little. Sadly its recently crashed in a traffic jam, so it wont be drivable for some time. I’ll see what I do, hope to get it fixed.
👍Yes, that was the amazing sound of this car I remember back from my early youth, when I had the chance to be passenger in it with this this perfect twin-cam engine and impressive badge 'iniezione elettronica'.
Ludwig Jakob Haha I have a similar experience, aged 12. It was a bluemetallic 1983 2000ie. I realized I have to own an Argenta!
Per Eldh Nice memories and congrats to your Argenta. In my case it was a 1981 2000ie pre-facelift model, also bluemetallic. It was my best friend's father's car, who bought it, after a truck crashed into his 1979 132 2000. He took us 11 year old guys out for some trips in these cars with much sportive driving. For us this was much more adventure than action films in TV.
Ludwig Jakob Of course, and also the pre-facelift 81-83 had shorter diff ratio so the acceleration was even better. I think they tried to make the 120ie a highway cruiser. Mine has a Ritmo 105TC head, Pittatore inlet cam & 2” exhaust so maybe it’s similarly quick.
Per Eldh Great, that your machine is still a witness, how good these engines have been. I remember, for us these times it was no problem to beat BMW 520i and Mercedes 280SE in acceleration.
And this basic engine had a really long career up to the turbo versions in Croma and Lancia Thema.
Wasn't the Ritmo 105TC a carburator engine?
Ludwig Jakob Yeah it’s a cracking engine. The reason I put a Ritmo 105TC/Regata 100S head on is the 43.5mm inlet valves (Argenta 2.0 has 41mm). I kept the Bosch LE Jetronic. :)
I have had 1983 Fiat Argenta 2000 iniezione elettronica automatica. Nice car with pure sound. 2" exhaust with two Simmons muffler, ITG-foam filter, tuned airflow meter... Good memories ;-)

Absolutely! First of course the front track is 60mm wider being a Mk2. The springs are cut 1lap rear & 1.5lap front, from memory.. The new ends were heated/flattened properly.
Front camber is down to -1.5deg by removing some shims.
The rims are called 100+, from a Bmw E30 325, 15x7” ET25 with pcd4x100, redrilled/machined to 4x98. 195/55-15 tires. With battery under the luggage floor the result is a pretty balanced car with pleasant handling. Good luck!

Hahaha I never thought about it until I watched it myself & everybody commented on it.. I dunno, I just focused on the driving and enjoyed it. It was never a fast lap anyway, it just came out like that. In any case it’s not a car you can hold One Grip the whole lap, it was too hot and its a wood wheel so it’s slippery. Tried gloves but it was even worse
Just curious. What's your pants inseam? From the few wikis that are out there, it's said that the Argenta has nice legroom, but the exact measurements are unknown. From what I'm seeing, either you're a big boy, or the wikis are too generous with their compliments; for you seem to barely fit in that car. I'm only asking because I could be looking at one of the few pre-90's RWD cars that can fit me.

Leonardo Taccola Den som blinkar är soppalampan! Tanken är avlång på bredden så det blinkar långt innan det är slut.. :)
Det som lyser på checkpanelen är varning för låg oljenivå, vilket är glappkontakt. Jag vrider av/på tändningen efter sista bron för att nollställa denna.

È molto equilibrato e, naturalmente, con la trazione posteriore ha una buona trazione. Inoltre, alcune persone dimenticano che l'Argenta del 1984-85 ha ottenuto una barra antirollio posteriore e una carreggiata anteriore più larga di 60 mm. A ciò si aggiungono le sospensioni inferiori, la campanatura anteriore negativa e la batteria posteriore.. Supera la maggior parte delle auto di quell'epoca! :)

My first car that I had from '88 to '96 was a 132/2000 '79 and those seats was horrible but I loved the car and it's handling even though it was original with nothing done to it. I had two 30 x 30cm paving stones in the booth during wintertime up here in northern Sweden to help with the traction.
