As a parent of a 7-year-old obsessed with Minecraft, looking for something non-screen-related he can do that's still Minecraft, thank you for this video. I still don't understand this game and will need to rewatch this video probably 10 times, but thank you. As a PhD and English Composition instructor, WHY is the game's title a question? Why? WHY? WHHHHHHY?
I'm now wondering what were the creators thinking when making these. I won't judge about using planks instead of sticks to craft tools. But who the *beep* made the crafting recipe for axes and hoes?
Probably to make it more nuanced, since the regular recipes have pretty much the same resource requirements for tools. This way, there's a sort of hierarchy to it
what was the thought process behind the development of the board game "so we have to turn a simulation game based on not only making the city functional and reliable. but also make it beautiful, as a board game"
Reserve should've been the first player action explained, since it was simplest. Putting it after the tool descriptions made me think I had missed something, that you were still explaining tools.
The actions were simply described in the order at 0:40, which is pretty intuitive imo. Also it would be a bit more confusing if you were told you can reserve the craft cards prior to being told what they are imo.
You forgot to mention the core mechanic, it’s very important part of the strategy in this game This is a joke and is a reference to a tommyinit video. I believe it’s called something like: “the minacraft ravine mod is dangerously funny” or something along those lines.
I played a similar game where you gathered resources to buy things with. Many of the mechanics were different, but it also did have a reserve system. The reserve feature was often very useful if you were gathering to get a very specific thing, missed 1 resource that you’ll get next turn and didn’t want someone who has similar resources to you sniping it before your turn. You’d also do that to prevent other players from reserving the thing you aimed just to prevent you from getting closer to your win condition. The way the resources and their costs to buy things worked out in this game, chances are that you wouldn’t be able to buy something else next turn if you were gathering up for a super specific thing. There was also a limit on how many resources you could hold at a time, so if there was only one good thing your super specific setup could’ve bought, not using the reserve mechanic or the opponent using it could really mess with your gameplan.
The Tomb Kings, known as the Priest Kings in their former lives, are the undying rulers of Nehekhara, an ancient Human civilisation that formed a great and powerful empire some two thousand five hundred years before the birth of Sigmar Heldenhammer and the founding of the Empire. Out of all the unliving creatures that would claim dominion and royalty over the dead, only the Tomb Kings could truly claim such masterful and undisputed sovereignty. For they had once ruled a mighty and far-flung empire during a time when the rest of Mankind were little more than savage barbarians. Long ago, during an ancient and forgotten age, Nehekhara stood as a shining beacon of civilisation and Human achievement; a golden age when its cities shone with a majestic splendour, its buildings crafted from magnificent marble and limestone, its armies capable of conquering entire kingdoms. In this long-lost age, Nehekhara's mighty rulers reigned as living gods amongst men. But this great realm was destroyed millennia ago through acts of great treachery and powerful sorcery. The living of Nehekhara perished long ago in a single, mournful night, and in their absence, the dead stirred from their graves and claimed the land anew. Even as their ancient civilisation now lies buried beneath the sand, its once verdant plains turned to searing desert and their mighty and glorious empire fractured and in ruin, the Tomb Kings have once more awoken from their deep sleep. Rising from their decrepit sarcophagi, the mummified rulers of Nehekhara awoke with eyes of burning balefire, their thirst for power, conquest and vengeance just as strong in death as in life. They have returned to reclaim that which is rightfully theirs, their legions innumerable, rising up from the scorching sand brandishing weapons of polished bronze and priceless gold. Ancient, emotionless and spiteful to all those that have slighted them, woe betide those foolish enough to stand before their silent onslaught.
"The rules are the same as regular minecraft, except for these changes"
*proceeds to list every possible game mechanic.
He actually did a tutorial on Minecraft a few years ago
@@geesecouchtaming7223 WOAH
XD
You know the rules and so do i
To me, a minecraft player, this game's recipe is clearly super weird and different from the original game.
When there’s no sticks, so a wooden sword is just a wooden column
Remember the wuden ex guys
The axe shape is super weird
@@Zoova no sticks?
It's to make it less complicated and more balanced
This card game looks really cool! I think they should make this "Minecraft" into a videogame.
Lol they alieady did. It's called Infiniminer.
@@thresherGnat i think they meant mein kampf
Thank you for all the hard work and information you bring us! keep it up bros.
That feeling when you go mining for ores but you find wood instead.
This game looks really cool, too bad it's discontinued...
You should try Minecraft builder and biomes. The game look really fun and while I have never try it, I really wanna try it.
Too bad we won't get netherite.
I actually bought this before, it was pretty fun tbh.
Imagine not having this game
@@hamizannaruto yeah I've already heard of it, i'll probably buy it in the future
This answered so many ruling questions I had. I really like this game but wow, are the rules ambiguous at times.

That's kind of a running gag with Minecraft. The default player character is named "Steve?".
@@s.e.111films3 I had no idea Steve was actually “Steve?”-I love a running gag and this makes me feel so much better. 😂
@@kcjd8659 I’m glad to hear it. 😊
I'm sorry, why on earth did they make the recipe for the axe so weird?!!
Probably for balancing
Yeah,I'm realized that now,the real recipe needs 2 stick and 3 minerals (ores)
Well, 1 plank makes 2 sticks, and has 3 ore. The only reason you can’t put it in any config in the game is because the pickaxe exists.
@@10EightyPlays yeah 1 plank is 2 sticks but the other recipes use wood instead of sticks
WHAT??? MINECRAFT CARD GAME???
Ok I watches the video this actually sounds sick
I remember getting one of those years ago, didn't expect to find a video about it so long after
I had this card game for like 6-7 years, played it a bunch and it's fun
Hadn't even heard of this game - thanks!
Seems like a simple, light game, but fun.
Thank you for this I have the game but explaining the rules is so hard sometimes.
I'm now wondering what were the creators thinking when making these. I won't judge about using planks instead of sticks to craft tools. But who the *beep* made the crafting recipe for axes and hoes?
thicc tools
Probably to make it more nuanced, since the regular recipes have pretty much the same resource requirements for tools. This way, there's a sort of hierarchy to it
using woods instead of sticks to craft items makes my brain melts
But… will it
Ok who else read the title as
"How to play: Minecraft cool game."
i remember finding this game, didnt buy it though played it at a gathering. Fun times.
Looks like a (kinda nice) twist on Splendor
I knew this reminded me of other game I’ve played! Makes sense now that you named it.
I actually have this! A couple years ago it looked cool so i bought it, it's somewhere in the attic right now
We need this game with updated textures and recipes
i forgot about this game, i miss it
Can you tell how many cards and types?
I would like to make myself one.
These cards are more expensive than the game💀💀
Since when are tools made with PLANKS instead of sticks for the handles??? Also really weird axe recipe
Probabally because requiring you to craft sticks would slow down the game way too much
I remember they had this at my… autism place when I was younger. Never got to play it, but I remember seeing the cards
Man I remember having this years ago it was fun while I had it
I need this game...
i actually got this, nice
Whats with the question mark?
this is splendor bruh
This reminds me, you should do the cities skylines board game.
what was the thought process behind the development of the board game
"so we have to turn a simulation game based on not only making the city functional and reliable. but also make it beautiful, as a board game"
I looked into it briefly, and it's made by kosmos, so it's for sure nothing bad, potentially even really good.
fanks, appreciate it
There is Minecraft board game?

i have this or at least had it, i dont know where it is
What does the shovel do?

I have 1 question: why in the Is the axe recipe so cursed?
Feels a little like splendor... but actually with a theme.
Found the game for $2 at a thrift store I brought it immediately
So this is basically splendor?
You forgot to mention the core mechanic, it’s very important part of the strategy in this game

Do a how to play Craps
Huh. One of the few times idk if I'm any clearer in how to play this.
I played this a lot
wait so how do you score points im still confused
The tools you craft have numbers on them, those are the points they're worth
What abou minecraft builders a builders card game
I wonder how the reserve action impacts the game.

Why does the axe looks wrong
i somehow presuaded my teacher in elementary school to buy this, we didn't understand english yet so we just made it into a tradeing game
