  • The video is going through all the work that needs to be done before that car is painted. I walk around all the body and explain all the problem areas. A vast part of the car is already prepared for the paint job, however, there are some places that I need to spend some more time on.
The pressure is on, the Mk2 is scheduled for painting on 10th June, meaning long working hours this week.

Thank you for doing this video, My MKII goes to the body shop next week and as I am in the USA they are not too familiar with Jaguar MKII and I have screen captured your body (hope it didn't hurt) and I am putting pictures in a document to show them how it should look, their work is amazing on American cars but I will need to monitor them :)

first i would like to thank for putting these vids on line, they helped a lot when we were working on my 240.
it had the same problem with the rearspring boxes. totally rotted out. my rear jacking points were very crusty
so i knew there was trouble ahead, but on your car they were totally missing, someone put plates over the rusted
areas!! then all alarm bells should go off!! i think that there are many mk2 around that look perfect on the outside
and have serious problems under the underside!
mine is now solid as a rock, and we had to do 4 jackingpoints and all the metal that surrounds them, and of course
    the springhangerboxes!
today its had the mot,and it passed!
on the outside we repaired all the known rustspots, clearly seen on your car,so we are good to go,and make this
mk2 as good as at looks from the underside!!
many thanks! henk and chris from holland

Thank you for the feedback. I'm glad the videos were useful. I was also surprised to see the rear jacking points missing on the car. It really is worrying what some people think is acceptable. Glad your 240 is back to health! Regards Simon @ Fostering Classics

Can someone confirm that the grill from a MK2 will fit on a Daimler 2.5 V8 ??

I know I'm watching this and it's 5 years old now, but why didn't you show yourself carrying out the repairs not going around after it's done with the camera and talking about it because that is Sooooo boring. and plus the only thing I can see on the finished workarea is filler, I can't see how you repaired it underneath the filler and that is the whole point.
