glad to see you updated online Synology RAID Calculator to show those actual disk capacities and estimated system reservations, thanks for being professional :)
As always, great video! Would have been a good idea to bring up size difference between 10GbE cards, such as mini 10GbE for the 923+ vs the 1621+. Also, why no discussion on leveraging NVMe a a Storage Pool? Wish Home Apps allowed you an option to point to your desired folder hierarchy rather than force you in to a folder structure determined by the App.
2.5 Gbe Everyone other Company has it why not Synology ? Will Synology even make a statement what there stance is , I assume no reply will come forward, Please Prove me wrong. Please Reply
Lack of 2.5G out-of-the-box really is short-sighted, I don't understand Synology's logic on this. a NAS is a 3-5 year investment, and the hardware should be designed with that in mind.. every other NAS vendor has recognised this years ago, and these days its included even on entry-level solutions...
The company that charges 800 EURs for 32GB of RAM wants to teach users how to Enhance theirs Synology? Congratulations you just made the unbelievable feet of beating Apple, I don't care what ever you want to say.
It is sad that they are pushing, almost forcing you to use their RAM, Cache and Hard Drives in “non”-Enterprise NAS’s. I get the benefits, but if you really want folks to go there your pricing has to be equal or better than competing options available.
@@tonyvalenti6614 If yours NAS dies and you have been using any other RAM besides Synology, they tell you immediately that your warrant is voided. This guy has the nerve to make a presentation of upgrading the RAM of DS923+ to 32GB putting the total cost of the NAS at 1.400 EURs with out even mention the cost of the RAM, in fact the RAM is more expensive than the NAS itself, how more ridiculous this can be?
I totally agree with RAM pricing, I see the hypocrisy of this Company said that they care about the customers and then charge them a ridiculous price for just the RAM. Sounds better to lower the price and never said that you care about your customers. Remember Synology you are doing this not to the apple customers instead to your own customers.

We need a new 8 bay consumer NAS Synology, And it's about time you dumped the 1GbE and at least gave everyone 2.5GbE on any NAS over 5 bays.
I have a Synology DS1821+. It’s an 8 bay consumer NAS. Has an optional 10GbE network upgrade card. I have one and love it.
@@tonyvalenti6614Yeah but it's old, Hence why I said we need an updated version, They have the new 8 bay XS out now but we want a plus version.
Or anything with a + should be at least 2.5gbe
@@notreallyme425 Agreed. And a one 10GbE port.
Why have these videos when Synology Rep does not respond to comments Need to have 2.5Gbe
2.5Gb Ethernet when?
Agreed, at this point 2.5GbE should be an industry standard for all device, not just Synology. It’s time for 1GbE to EOL.

If you ever set up a DS1618 on the top floor of a wood frame house, you´ll find the name Rumble more appropriate than Synology!

The difference of terrabyte and tebibyte would have been nice instead of telling incorrect information. 36 TB are 36 TB and not "minus 10 percent".

@@pbrigham Agreed. Thats why I keep the original memory. And yes, their upgrade costs are way too expensive.
