More than halfway through intern year as a resident doctor, and I'm still learning to process this rewarding, traumatizing, and relationship oriented profession that somehow simultaneously beats you down to your lowest but lifts you up in the most unexpected ways the second you think you can't take anymore.
Take care of yourself my fellow residents, you're not alone. Check the boxes, and then some.

As an M1 currently slacking on Anki reviews and questioning whether this is all worth it, watching this video helped remind me why I'm pursuing medicine in the first place. I aspire to have the mindset you have and I'm glad I've been following this journey of yours.

There’s an Anki add-on that lets you schedule “easy” days on weekends, it’s helped me so much with burnout when I have 500+ cards due on a weekend when I realllyyyyy need a day off

I’m not anyone other than an almost 50 year old mom who loves watching your videos. I’m also someone who has gone through too many operations to count. Your video immediately made me cry bc it’s so heartfelt. Coming from a patient, not a fellow dr, please don’t lose “your care.” It matters so much to patients, yet seems so hard to come by. Your care for your patients matters so much-trust me. But don’t ever forget to take care of you too. You are an amazing doctor ❤

Great video, I hear/feel for your man. I just came off a tough palliative care rotation and it isn’t easy to bare the weight of death or of giving that sentence to a patient. Let’s all do this together

I don't know if you journal, but you have gone through some hard things to handle without decompressing and without offloading some of that heavy burden. For me, journalling has been transformative to offload what's in my head. Just free flowing writing, no prompts, just pen to paper and go.

I’m a pre med and I’m a bit down, stressed, and I torn my LCL the healing is iffy. Juggling all of this I am worried if I need surgery & pay for more medication as I have no health insurance, but hopefully I can get physical therapy that my school gives for free to undergraduates & over time with the RICE method I been doing that it heals on it’s own over the months. This gave me a bit of a push and hope.🤍
