I was there, too! I was up in the front and center. This was my 12th time seeing them and it tops them all! It was so great seeing Alexander played live on this tour for the first time in their history. This opener Caught Somewhere in Time is my favorite song on the SIT album.
Thanks for the video! To me, it will always be "The Rosemont Horizon". Saw Maiden there so many times there. Saw them a few weeks ago in Portland...awesome show!!!
The way Adrian Smith end his solo and how immediatly connect with the main riff again is something that always gives me gossebumps about this song. Simply amazing.
Man, "Caught Somewhere in Time" has, for my part, probably one of the most unusual and distinct solo section of any song. It mesmerized me back in the day at tender age of 13, that whole album did, really...the sound, the whole Blade Runner thing, it was like music from outer space... to hear it live now, and still played so well in their old age lol... life is tough but we got the fortune to exist in the same time as Iron %#$! Maiden \m/
Amazing show! I saw them at this arena for the A matter of Life and Death tour....its was nuts (thanks to no phones and social media) they never disappoint!!! UP THE IRONS 🤘
there are several cellphone videos from that tour on RUclips. given, not a whole swarm like nowadays, and absolutely not this quality.. but definitely more than one.
Thanks. I saw them there in that arena in December 21 1984 on the Powerslave tour. Bruce wearing a Santa hat. Hilarious. The greatest concert I’ve ever been to. It was called the Rosemont Horizon back then. Seen them many times since. Good times
@@teratamusic He's still recovering, so hopefully he keeps improving. He's one of the nicest & most genuine ppl ever, so I'm really rooting hard for him!

Thanks for Posting!! This was my 35th maiden show - although I was up in the cheap seats for this one, and I was at Navy Pier back in 1982 when they headlined that crazy show at Chicago Fest.... (20,000 people crammed in an area made for about 8,000. People were hanging out of the trees over the lake.) Great history with our city!
I was there. Bohemia opened. That was a mistake. Ever heard the story about Adrian almost being arrested for tossing his guitar that hit a cop in the back of his head? They worked it out by giving the cop $50 bucks and let him keep the guitar.
I was at Navy Pier in 1982 to see them as well however 8 Chicago police descended upon my 17 year old friends that had just purchased beer and I never made it to the show.
@@RockinExperience - Yes,, but I thought it was Dave hitting the cop in the back of the head? His guitar was messed up - probably more the rental PA, so Bruce said something about him getting it in New York..... What an epic show.....
We were at this show, front row (of the second level 😁). First time seeing Maiden live and it was spectacular. Would like to have seen more songs from the early days, but it was still incredible.
WTF they aged in looks but they move like they did back when I saw them 30 years ago. Sound just as good too. Doesn't look like they lost a step. Still packing stadiums. LOVE IT!
Witnessed our eastern londoners many times. The first of many at the 4vr historic 83' Chicago Fest show where the Chicago Mutants were born...and Bruce kicked the monitors off the stage complaining they were worthless and promised to return with a better sound system...hahaha Long live Maiden!
Thank god for AutoTune live and the artists who are not too proud or too far gone vocally to use it. Bruce sounds amazing, who gives a damn if it is enhanced.
Janicke gers is he really still playing the guitar or just dancing with it early on... could you tell if he missed a chord to two ? If you can still play and do theatrics hats off to him.. Great video colour etc
I agree there are times when he's clearly playing but anyone whos picked up a guitar can tell there are times when his volume is off. The things he's doing then would be 100% unlistenable
They should play their very first 2 albums in their entirety as a tribute to Paul DiAnno. That would be awesome. Safe travels to heaven or hell master. Now you're Running Free!
I miss clive burr and janick is a joke.He detracts from the band too much. He is one lucky guy. He jumps around and plays what he wants why all the others carry him.
bro...this is a ridiculous comment. Gers is an amazing guitarist and songwriter. Him having a blast on stage is so fun...and Clive? really...Nicko is Maiden and a way better drummer. Steve knew the right decisions to make and that's why Maiden is still amazing live to this day! UP THE IRONS 🤘
Quite honestly, if YOU were playing guitar in one of the most Iconic metal bands in the world and got to travel on Ed Force One all over the globe, 🌎 playing to millions of people wouldn't YOU be dancing all over the stage? Don't knock it till YOU DO IT !
it's not on your side either...could be gone at any second...at any age. So practice kindness and respect...not stupid pointless comments, it will benefit your time...I promise. take care my friend. UP THE IRONS 🤘
I was there and Maiden sounded and played great. It was my seventh time seeing them and they never disappoint.

Me too and my brother and I appear in this video at 6:04.
Only got to see them once in 81. Was them and the Scorpions. One of the best concerts I ever went to. Both bands were phenomenal.
I initially only intended to watch the first song but was instantly fixed and transported back to 1987. Up the Irons!
Iron Maiden 2024 in Chicago good times

I was going to go to this concert regardless, but when I heard Somewhere in Time was going to be featured, I couldn't miss it.

some vocal "variations" on Stranger in a Strange land, that make the song even better, oh and thar Phrygian scale on 12:17 by Janick Gers was awesome

Yes it was!
They purposely didn’t do that it was meant to mostly be songs from somewhere in time and Senjitsu
you had great seats!! I loved the concert in LA.

Just saw them in minneapolis on 10/22 was very awesome as usual
Rock on!
Di'Aano was 66 when he died. Bruce is 66 and my Dad died at age 66. Thats three 6's.

Yah, he needs to turn it down a notch. Creepy looking at best. :D
he has to have something to do because he sure ain't doing it with playing guitar
Świetny wokal
Would someone explain why they need 4 guitarists? Just curious
iron maiden rules
Like Dave's hair now
He was just out of conditioner:)
@toddlesiak3837😂😂😂😅😅😅😅
Hey, I see myself.
nice...
Is Janick pretending to play? I don’t hear all 3 guitars

Dr brown singing. 😂

I’m not sure why Gers is still with them . He’s not needed and his stage presence is more fit for an 80’s hair band
They’re playing SIASL way too fast

He has composed great songs, more than Dave. He does'nt play what he wants because there are parts designed to each guitar player.
