@@jefffields8584 Considering the basket dimensions of 60"L x 24"W x 14"H, it is recommended that you maintain a clearance of greater than 14 inches to allow the lift gate to function properly. This means that the total height of any items stacked in the basket should not exceed this clearance height. Additionally, when installing the hitch or making any modifications, ensure that the distance from the receiver to the basket, as well as the height of the basket itself, are taken into account to maintain sufficient clearance. By following these steps, you should be able to utilize the rack while still being able to open and close the rear lift gate, even with a load.

Considering buying this for our Yukon. How high can you stack things and still have the rear lift gate function up and down?

2015 Yukon Denali. I’d like the rear lift gate to still be able to go up and down while using the rack even with a load.

When the bikes not on it, why n not just take the carrier off to get to the spare? Its when the bike is on it tha ts the problem.
