very informative im 22 and just had an mri for arthritis for my back im aware its very rare for my age my mother was diagnosed at 34 this was very helpful for me
Wow, you hit every point of pain in my lower back. Which my Doctor pretty much diagnosed it before he did the x-rays. we're still trying to figure out the best treatment option.
Have had both hips replaced one was broken and the other was bone on bone and now I have lower back pain and the symptoms you described in this video…just spot on so I just ordered your book on Amazon and I’m looking forward to reading it. Thank you!
I'm sorry to hear about the pain you have been experiencing - I hope my book can offer some interesting and useful information to offer some relief for you, thank you for supporting my work - wishing you all the best :)
I'm not sure if you will see this two years on Phil but can I ask about morning 'stiffness'. I developed a painful back in May which improved but one day in July I could not get out of bed! The pain would continue through the day. My doctor sent me to physio, now almost 5 months on with my usual cycling (I live in NL) & lots of exercises to strengthen & keep the spine mobile it is much better during the day BUT I still can't get out of bed unless I have something really solid on which to support my weight as I rise. This is more real pain than stiffness & can take 15 minutes before I'm walking well... I've already tried several minutes of exercises lying down to help but somehow this doesn't help at all... 😢
I have broken my back three times. I have no disc in l5. I can't stand up straight I'm 45 years old. I live in Arizona. We've had record temperatures of over 110 plus degrees we're starting to see cooler weather drop at night. 65° the day it's 100 what kind of supplements can I take to fix this crap?
I had 2 lower discs herniate, "1 moderate, 1 severe" and had micro discectomy 20 yrs ago along with a revision the following year because pain came back with a vengeance. Pretty sure it's arthritis I've developed over the past 5 yrs as it's more in the site area rather than full sciatic. Like how a fractured tailbone must feel, but on the right side. I have all the symthoms you mention & it's so painful to even walk across a parking lot. I don't have insurance, but I can cover an exam, Xray per my HSA savings & hopefully a generic prescription to help until I get Medicare 4 yrs from now.
@@stacksflat7482 mmm yes! I wouldn't either. I've found the physios here are superb. (I live in the Netherlands) They focus on movement & exercise to improve problems.
Thanks for a great video. I'm in Southern California and my doctor was not able to explain it as clearly as you have. As a 65 year old male this sounds exactly what I'm experiencing. But one other thing I have noticed is simply standing up for more than about a minute causes that same lower back pain and I have to sit down. So I find myself sitting down 98 of my day. Is this also a symptom of the same problem? I'm getting very concerned because I'm about 5 weeks in to taking a low dose of ibuprofen every single day as it is the only thing that helps me get thru the day. Any thoughts you have are appreciated.
Doctor, I am 20 years old and in the recent few months, I find my back a little stiff in the morning and general stiffness all the time . I have to crack/pop my back a lot , it releases stiffness. What chance I have this arthritis?
Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with arthritis in L4. I had an x-ray done after six weeks of being in so much pain and I cannot walk. I have left buttock pain when I sit stand or walk and then it shoots down my leg to my foot so obviously I have looked at all the sciatic videos. So not only do I have the arthritis in L4. I have the sciatic in the piriformis muscle area that is being pushed on as well. I’m physical therapy. I have not heard yet. The thing that bothers me the most is everybody has the answer. Oh you just need to walk. Oh you just need to go to the chiropractor oh you just need a massage I don’t like your people do not understand. why would you tell somebody to go do something without knowing what’s really going on and it could actually make things worse. I’ve done all the exercises from all of the best videos and nothing helps. I’m on pain medication. I am on anti-inflammatories I’m on muscle relaxer. Just to get up to go to the restroom. It takes me an hour when I get back to my chair to get over the severe pain that I have in my thigh, calf and foot.
I had it at L4/L5. Sciatica I’ve had for years and years. Rather than a fusion, (Which I don’t ever want!) my neurosurgeon did a disectomy and laminotomy after years of pain and agony I was finally free of it. My advice is never have an orthopedist touch you. Always always have a neurosurgeon evaluate and help you.
Damn. You have literally pinpointed all of my symptoms. Just had my mri results in. 3 herniated discs with compression on l5 root, facet atrophy and stenosis. Been suffering for 5 years and use a walker to get around, I’m only 34 🥲

Is low back arthritis typically diagnosed with an MRI?
With X-ray! just went to the chiropractor and I have it😖
don’t go near a chiropractor for gods sake, especially when you’ve arthritis, they wreck your back
