This was real fun but was not easy in the slightest. There was a lot of casts and a lot of walking shown off camera. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the end of the pier. Luckily I was able to pull in a few solid fish. It was a good time catching and learning.

I lived in Buffalo most of my life, born in 62 and fished that break wall weekly in spring, summer, and fall in the 70s, 80s, and 90s before moving away. I would see more largemouth bass on the canal side. Very nice smallmouths on the river side with crawfish as bait. Before this break wall was repaired with the walkway, water from the canal would be rushing over from the canal side. Cold water rushing over your feet felt good on hot summer days!
There is some great fishing in and around Buffalo. Thanks for sharing with me!
you remember crossing the break wall when it was falling apart then, water rushing over for 10 ft and moss covered rocks.
There’s been some sketchy areas. There’s always new chunks and sections broken up after the winter! It makes it interesting😂
I have fished the mighty Niagara since the late 50's, on the west river, Canadian waters, and the east river, The Tonawanda channel, I have never been on the break wall, so glad to see it on your video. Every Bass I have ever caught were a fighters.
That’s awesome! I’m sure you’ve found out a lot regarding techniques and times to fish. You should try the breakwall sometime. The bass sure are fighters. Thanks for the support and tight lines🎣
The last 20 yrs or so I pretty much only fished the foot of Ontario and the break wall. I found if you walk out and go just lakeside of the bridge and use ultralight / light gear and crabs it's smally heaven -- little lighter colored baits work too. Dont fish bottom lol lose setup everytime. Ontario - pull in - far left corner - cast heavier sinker / crab out at the 11 oclock position when the current reverses back upstream GREAT bas spot but tons of sheeps - used to be a cable running at a 45 degree angle from yer lake side - another rig stealer. Think it was sorta laying on the bottom - just avoided riding the bottom there over or under.
Rambling - housebound - miss it, had just bought 3 pluegar reels and St. Croix rods -
I've watched a few of your videos already and I really like your content no Funky Music none of that just straight up fishing around the Buffalo area thank you very much and I really like the one that you did there at the Erie Canal that was awesome
Thanks for the support! Yeah, I like to keep it simple for most things. I’m glad you enjoy them. That was a blast at the Erie Canal! Tight lines to ya🎣
Nice to see this thank-you 😮
No problem it was fun, thanks for watching🎣
some nice ones 👍👍
Bite was a little slow but, they were quality.
OG SQUAW island 🏝 😎
I still call it that sometimes…🎣🎣
@@OfficialCreekGeek I always call it that. There is no unity just division nowadays.
When I was younger my dad would spend hours just fishing from were you are all the way down to the bridge that spins
The spinning bridge is the reason I’m scared of heights and bridges
That’s awesome I’m sure you and him had some great memories there. That’s understandable about the bridge haha. Best of luck to ya🙂
Whoot whoot yea on the outside like you are the current is very strong.. you can go around the end past the gate if you step off the path careful.. and yes the calm side
is the blackrock canal
That’s good to know thanks! It’s definitely a fun but crazy place to fish.
Enjoyed your video my friend , you have been Subbed.
Thanks for the support! I’m glad you enjoyed. I’ll be posting a new video this weekend. Tight lines🎣🎣
i go there all the time!
It’s a good spot to relax and fish!
gg
Thanks for watching! Tight Lines🎣🎣
Good video, I fish the Tonawanda area.
Thanks! I’ve only fished a few times out that direction. Never had much luck. What do you get over there?
Fellow Western New Yorker here and dedicated Steelhead angler....
Welcome to the channel! I do a little bit of everything on here including steelhead of course. Tight lines🎣
@@OfficialCreekGeek You as well!!
Just ate my walleye I caught out there last night.
Nothing like some fresh walleye!
Go BILLSSSS
Go Bills!
Love it....might I suggest that you look up and pan the camera occasionally. Constant focus on hands and feet are a bit much.
Thanks! I’ve been thinking about that recently. I’ll be figuring out different ways to film at different angles and such. I’m gonna try and do better with that. Thanks for the help, tight lines🎣
@@OfficialCreekGeek lil help. Check out Scott Carpenter back trail.
I spent years fishing the bridge structure ...... nice pool lake side for smallies.
I’ll check him out. It is hard to record from multiple angles fishing solo but I’m definitely gonna try…
End of breakwall its ok tossing them either side of wall.
That’s good to know
I live on the Canadian side
How’s the fishing over there???
Brother you need a net. I have one that is very light weight and is collapsible. If you want it I will give it to you
Thanks for the offer brother! I’ve got a few nets. I’ve just got to remember to bring em😅
Is this fish tasty?
I like how smallmouth bass taste. I haven’t eaten largemouth bass though…
YOU EVER FISH FOR PERCH OR CRAPPIES?
I do while ice fishing. And sometimes in the summer. I don’t tend to target them much…
@@OfficialCreekGeek K
I live in Buffalo ,NY and i never seen a Large Mouth Bass
Most ponds and small lakes have them around here. And are usually easy to spot near shore in the summer. Go find some!
He's a she...😮😮😮
Hahaha I always say he or she randomly without thinking while catching fish.😂 I wondered when this comment would come….😂
@@OfficialCreekGeek TRANSGENDER FISH WOW!!
