- Have you had difficulty opening the pump on a lotion pump bottle or a cleanser pump bottle?
I tried two methods that worked for other people - right on camera. You'll see which one worked for me.

Me too... I think you can look up almost anything on RUclips. My simple problem today is Renpure Coconut Milk & Vitamin E Body Lotion..... can not open the freakin bottle. Looks sort of like this, so I will try. I have fixed my Laptop, installed a new fan in my bathroom, and even fixed my own toilet. 👍
It's always the little things in life that humble us. 10 out of 10 for that video.

Honestly...there is clearly a problem with many of the pumps that these companies are using.
I've gone from annoyed before I watched this video, to infuriated that it's such a widespread issue. 😡
But THANK YOU for offering a solution. At the moment I don't have a pump that requires safe cracking methods, but when the next one finds its way into my house, I know how to win the battle. 😈

You are seriously my hero...I've been drizzling product from the pump shaft of 2 products for maybe 2 weeks till I was like, hey, why not, RUclips tells you everything? And both pumps are open within like 5 seconds each. Holding the shaft with a wash cloth after washing and drying it probably helped too. (The fact that I actually need a hero for this is a bit tragic, but nonetheless, you are that hero.) 😊

YES! You have saved me from continuing to waste cream and shampoo because I cannot get the pump working. Not to mention the endless swearing. I appreciate this video.
After twisting the pump exactly 1,476 times, banging the bottle on the countertop at least forty-eleven times, yelling various and sundry creative but apparently useless insults at the bottle, and almost calling 911 for nearly bursting an artery, I waved the white flag and put it aside. After a week or so, the heavens opened, the moon and the stars smiled upon me and beamed a marvelous epiphany into my weary soul. “Consult RUclips,” the heavenly orbs implored.

My wife bought a bottle of lotion and tried for 2 days to open it . Finally she asked me to try it. I worked on for 5 minutes and nothing happened. I look up your video and in 30 seconds, Voila. It popped open.

#2 worked for me. Instead of cleaning/drying the long tube, I placed a clean folded paper towel around the top portion of the long tube, and then used pliers placed over the paper towel to brace the long tube.

Don't even need the paper towel. Just grip the top portion of the long tube with a wrench.
If you need tools to get a pump on a bottle of lotion or shampoo to open, then there is a design flaw. Lol. It took me 10 minutes and this video to get mine open. Lol.

I wiped off most of the Lotion and held it with a tissue. Worked.
I was trying to open my body wash, Johnson & Johnson's milk & rice baby bath. I couldn't rotate the pump, I was worried if I go hard rotating, I might break it or something. This actually helped. Thanks!

I just spent 40 minutes swearing up and down trying to open a Old Spice Swagger Bottle. Love the product BUT WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN. These days I give people, products, services 1 F’in chance if I stress the slightest I wipe it out of my life permanently.

I was struggling to grip the shaft cause it was slippery but after reading your comment I used pliers and it finally worked

Glad I found this! So yes, the rinsing works. What I did after rising and drying was to hold the neck using pliers, in order to get a good grip, and it popped right up. Thank you. I faced this exact same thing a few days ago with another product, and my "solution" was I had another new bottle of the same stuff, so I popped that new one open (glad it wasn't;t the same problem) and switched out the tops. Thanks so much for this.

I think I watched at least a dozen videos, called 15 friends, took it to a neighbor. Not a clue. But YOU!!! Had bought a few dozen hand sanitizers for others and NONE of them opened, store wouldn't take back, etc., etc., yada, yada. The 2nd way ABSOLUTELY WORKED. Thank you for taking care of my anger :) :)

I'm a grown woman and has never learned how to make the pumper work, so for as long as I can remember, I've have been unscrewing the top and pouring the liquid out into my hand.
Tip 2 worked for me. If you completely dry the main tube/spring area, etc., yep, works like a charm. :-) (With some bottles, you'll need to put it back on before it will twist, etc.)

If you unscrew the cap, lift it, hold stem with pliers, then twist nozzle you will not have to rinse and dry or lose one drop of lotion.

The second trick worked like a charm! I decided to buy a second bottle and just switch out the pump with my first one, and was so upset to find the second pump wouldn't unlock either! This video saved me from some serious frustration!

Plan B worked beautifully and without washing and drying the inner workings first. Just grabbed a paper towel and held the tube firmly near the top and twisted the pump in the indicated direction and voila! A dry washcloth or dishcloth would work just as well as the paper towel. Thanks for the original tip!

I would always transfer the liquid into an older bottle that worked & it was such unnecessary extra work for me.
This was an easy quick fix.

The second method worked for me when trying to open the Nexxus pump shampoo bottle. Took the top off the bottle, dried off the top part of the inside and turned the spout counterclockwise and it worked like a charm. I agree that you shouldn't have to do this to get the darn thing open, but at least it won't accidently open and make a mess when transporting it home.

Of course there was a solution for this on RUclips! Thank you! I had a giant shampoo bottle pump that I couldn't unlock for the life of me. I tried the trick of turning it upside down and it just clicked unlocked after giving it 10 seconds for the pressure to build.
