In my opinion, the whole healthy band is really scary, I mean they just ramble about nonsense for most of the video but ever since they eat duck the atmosphere is way more intense, and you sit there hoping that the same thing won’t happen to yellow guy, until all the buildup leads to the end where they did what they wanted to (make yellow guy eat duck) and then they’re gone. Excellent character writing
I cant believe it took me 4 years to realize that the Duck Guy being "canned" was a visual pun of being "canned" in the industry. Like when a TV show gets "canned" it means it got cancelled or taken off the air. Or if an actor gets canned it means they are kicked off the show. Duck Guy gets canned because he broke the rules of what to do on set so he was kicked off the show.
+savagekid94 I have to agree. Time is my favorite, but it felt much more heavy on the black comedy. How could you not crack a smile at a clock losing its shit over the suggestion that time's an illusion? Love is the only one I don't really care for. I was really pleased to see how they bounced back with Digital World.
@@tisa37bokun57 Holy shit you're right, it's as if they're turning back time in an attempt to fix up things. In the first episode, Duck has a lot autotune than the later episodes. Am I overthinking this? Probably and most likely, but I mean random thing to think about
I think this is by far the scariest episode - Duck's increasing panic and discomfort - The meat guy's whole demeanor and tone of voice makes me insanely uncomfortable somehow - The gore, obviously - "You shouldn't eat food from a stranger's plate" - The random long pauses throwing you off - The weird improvised sounding rhythm and lyrics The whole thing adds up and it's actually unnerving af

This is by far the most disturbing episode but the best for me. I love the deep meanings throughout it,”you shouldn’t eat food from a strangers plate.” I’ve watched so many horror movies and I’m a big fan of horror,but this puppets show has scared me more than any horror movie I’ve ever watched… it’s the way it’s like some innocent kids show but deep down,it’s gory and filled with meaning. It’s the fact they hooked up a blood bag to duck so he would stay conscious and be tortured while this large figure was eating him alive… I felt nauseous when watching the large yellow guy eat duck alive,the animated gore and guts with ducks fear and the yellow guy laughing made me so disturbed and nauseous. This show is so good and disturbing at the same time,I thought it was a baby show when I was young but I was so wrong. This show traumatized me as a kid,but I’m kinda glad. Wanted to add on,as a kid… this big yellow food can guy who ate duck alive scared the hell out of me. It’s the way he looked and the way he was so evil,just laughing at ducks torture… and the way he just kept pulling those organs and eating them from duck,it made me feel sick when I was young. I love this show for that reason because they can make just a puppet show so disturbing and gross over a real horror movie,imagine if they made an actual horror movie… they have so much potential.
Love how being creative, travelling to different dimensions, getting old and dying, giving away his home address, eating raw chicken and murdering bees is fine, but eating healthy is where Duck draws the line.
the fact that the duck was so uncomfortable and aware makes this episode the most unsettling. it was crazy how he didn’t like how the foods were coming up behind him and touching him, he was so aware the whole time, like he knew he would die.

i think another super creepy thing about this series is the redundancy of the teachers’ lessons. like, they always contradict themselves and the lessons are nonsensical and inane. it’s just unsettling :•)
Yeah the teaching gets worse and more nonsensical every time, like they’re hastily thrown together. The teachers in this episode strike me the same way as the 6th episode when that machine creates a bunch of awful useless characters who practically speak gibberish. Like they’re just a distraction to keep the main characters busy. I find that super interesting
That's how a lot of children's education is, especially about nutrition, as a lot of it changes rather quickly or contradicts itself, and all of it is purged of "unnecessary detail." And ultimately it's all a lie. The first of the bird's flash-forwards suggests that he died on the operating table and none of this inane advice did anything to preserve his health.
3:31 my favorite joke in all of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared is just this anatomical diagram revealing it's a living creature by letting out this awful goblin-esque growl of approval
The scene at the end with Yellow guy sitting in the dark, fat and has feathers sticking out of his mouth, Yellow guy looking around confused and scared as he realises what he's just done. It really breaks my heart
I love how unlike most of the other DHMIS videos, this one doesn’t start out nice and innocent at first and go horribly wrong 3 minutes into the video, this one is wrong as soon as it starts.
@@kikibear26 yeah! It’s pretty much like he knew he was gonna die from the beginning and was scared if that. Like at the star when meat comes and taps duck with the fork duck says “get off me!” As if he didn’t want to die too soon or smth.
No one ever talks about the very best part of this episode, the pure hilarious abject bathos of “What’s that, a lovely pie? But you’re going to end up sad inside.” Absolutely kills me every time
Well, obviously he didn’t know for a fact, otherwise he would leave the set earlier. But looking back on the episode his suspicion from the start gave me anxiety😭

Honestly, this is one of my favorite episodes of all time. Above the tv series and all. The little details, duck’s “awakening”, THE GORE!! A lot of time and effort is shown in this video and even if at first this scared the crap out of me when i first saw it in 2019, I always come back to this video!! Also, this is SO catchy!! I personally believe that this is one of the episodes that truly defined what don’t hug me I’m scared is!

I have a theory that the three main characters are maybe in a coma or limbo. The coma theory suggests that they’re connected via some sort of neurolink that’s trapping them in this world that they came close to escaping in the computer episode. My limbo theory suggests that they all died and they’re trapped between our world and the afterlife. Yellow guy represents denial, duck represents anger and bargaining, and red guy represents depression. They each represent 1/2 of the 5 stages of grief. They’re becoming more aware which will eventually lead to the acceptance stage, and that’s where “wakey wakey” comes in. In the leaked episode we see the trio fully assimilated into this world so they must’ve reached acceptance and entered the after life.
I prefer the matpat theory, red guy si the creator of this show and the father of the yellow the producer, red have the dream of make a kids show but the producer just do what he wanted, maybe duck being killed is a represetation of him being eaten of a contrac or something more figurativery
Okay wow, they're all getting self-aware it seems! In the last episode, the red guy saw the video being shot, he realised that the world he lives in isn't really a real world after all, it's all just for entertainment and he's one of the actors without realising, they pretty much die and do bad stuff for the entertainment of others, so he leaves, he doesn't want to participate in this bullshit! Now, the phone that rang in this episode was the red guy that was trying to warn his friends from the "reality" they live in. When the bird picks up the phone, he most likely gets knocked out by the singers because they know what's going on, hence the video being on repeat after he wakes up. This also made the bird self-aware, he also knows that he's just an actor in a world of entertainment because he's seeing himself on the TV. The singers probably gave him another chance after he got carried to the hospital bed. But he squanders that chance. He immediately fights the "producers" by not cooperating with the song by saying stuff like: "That doesn't make any sense!" or "Enough!" or "I-I have to go!"(he's obviously scared for what might come if he stays around). The singers immediately cut him off by some stupid: "Doot doot doot doot" because they can't thing of lyrics that fast. They cut him off because they don't want the yellow one to become self-aware. I mean, they're losing actors! This obviously makes the "producers" angry and they feel that they don't need him in the show if he doesn't cooperate. So he gets eaten by his own friend who doesn't have an idea what the hell is going on. So, what can we expect in the next episodes? Probably the yellow guy being alone, and he will probably get self-aware like the others and they might fight the entertainment world together in the last episode... Edit: Holy shit, when the bird kicks over the camera, slow the video down... we can see the red guy standing there... Does this mean he switched sides... he joined the producers and the film peeps? Now I'm very confused. Edit 2: "But the bad, not healthy foods are very rude, and must leave through the catflap". Guess what "food" is acting rude? The bird is acting rude... He gets turned into food, and has to "leave". The singers are actually trying to warn the bird that he should stop acting so rude, if not, he dies. He's a "show-offy" food which is clinging up the "body"(act) with unnecessary "details". The bird is doing that exactly! They continue with "killing" the body, or, showing what they will do to the bird if he doesn't keep his mouth shut. Edit 3: It can also be seen that the "singers" haven't prepared very well, I mean, the beef is dancing for a while. He obviously has to think about what to do next, he's stalling for time. The fridge also doesn't make ANY sense by rambling and rhyming. "Maybe we have to wait, until it's on a plate, or maybe we'll be to late!" That's just rambling. EDIT 4: Yup there's more realisations! At 3:38. The bird in a can is displayed as a "unhealthy, rude show-offy" food.
I really love and hate how they made the duck become more and more panicked and aware of what is about to happen. He keeps getting more and more anxious and more and more angered until he was consumed. Sad to see my favorite character like this
a common pattern that this series has is that the songs only become creepy when something appears to irritate the singers. the drawing pad starts when yellow tries to move ahead of the song the clock gets angry when duck starts asking questions the butterfly is a bit different because it's a cult but things dont go off the rails until yellow "overuses" love the computer becomes enraged by red trying to push him away and now these food people are aggravated by duck calling out their flawed logic.
The drawing pad is the only one who seems to be disturbed when reality broke down. "Now let's all agree to never be creative again..." But it does start to get creepy around those points. This is by far the most disturbing episode but the best for me. I love the deep meanings throughout it,”you shouldn’t eat food from a strangers plate.” I’ve watched so many horror movies and I’m a big fan of horror,but this puppets show has scared me more than any horror movie I’ve ever watched… it’s the way it’s like some innocent kids show but deep down,it’s gory and filled with meaning. It’s the fact they hooked up a blood bag to duck so he would stay conscious and be tortured while this large figure was eating him alive… I felt nauseous when watching the large yellow guy eat duck alive,the animated gore and guts with ducks fear and the yellow guy laughing made me so disturbed and nauseous. This show is so good and disturbing at the same time,I thought it was a baby show when I was young but I was so wrong. This show traumatized me as a kid,but I’m kinda glad.
Wanted to add on,as a kid… this big yellow food can guy who ate duck alive scared the hell out of me. It’s the way he looked and the way he was so evil,just laughing at ducks torture… and the way he just kept pulling those organs and eating them from duck,it made me feel sick when I was young. I love this show for that reason because they can make just a puppet show so disturbing and gross over a real horror movie,imagine if they made an actual horror movie… they have so much potential.

Yeah the teaching gets worse and more nonsensical every time, like they’re hastily thrown together. The teachers in this episode strike me the same way as the 6th episode when that machine creates a bunch of awful useless characters who practically speak gibberish. I love how unlike most of the other DHMIS videos, this one doesn’t start out nice and innocent at first and go horribly wrong 3 minutes into the video, this one is wrong as soon as it starts.

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN
I have a theory that the three main characters are maybe in a coma or limbo. The coma theory suggests that they’re connected via some sort of neurolink that’s trapping them in this world that they came close to escaping in the computer episode. My limbo theory suggests that they all died and they’re trapped between our world and the afterlife. Yellow guy represents denial, duck represents anger and bargaining, and red guy represents depression. They each represent 1/2 of the 5 stages of grief. They’re becoming more aware which will eventually lead to the acceptance stage, and that’s where “wakey wakey” comes in. In the leaked episode we see the trio fully assimilated into this world so they must’ve reached acceptance and entered the after life.

In the last episode, the red guy saw the video being shot, he realised that the world he lives in isn't really a real world after all, it's all just for entertainment and he's one of the actors without realising, they pretty much die and do bad stuff for the entertainment of others, so he leaves, he doesn't want to participate in this bullshit!
Now, the phone that rang in this episode was the red guy that was trying to warn his friends from the "reality" they live in. When the bird picks up the phone, he most likely gets knocked out by the singers because they know what's going on, hence the video being on repeat after he wakes up.
This also made the bird self-aware, he also knows that he's just an actor in a world of entertainment because he's seeing himself on the TV. The singers probably gave him another chance after he got carried to the hospital bed. But he squanders that chance.
He immediately fights the "producers" by not cooperating with the song by saying stuff like: "That doesn't make any sense!" or "Enough!" or "I-I have to go!"(he's obviously scared for what might come if he stays around). The singers immediately cut him off by some stupid: "Doot doot doot doot" because they can't thing of lyrics that fast. They cut him off because they don't want the yellow one to become self-aware. I mean, they're losing actors!
This obviously makes the "producers" angry and they feel that they don't need him in the show if he doesn't cooperate. So he gets eaten by his own friend who doesn't have an idea what the hell is going on.
So, what can we expect in the next episodes? Probably the yellow guy being alone, and he will probably get self-aware like the others and they might fight the entertainment world together in the last episode...
Edit: Holy shit, when the bird kicks over the camera, slow the video down... we can see the red guy standing there...

Guess what "food" is acting rude? The bird is acting rude... He gets turned into food, and has to "leave".
The singers are actually trying to warn the bird that he should stop acting so rude, if not, he dies. He's a "show-offy" food which is clinging up the "body"(act) with unnecessary "details".
The bird is doing that exactly! They continue with "killing" the body, or, showing what they will do to the bird if he doesn't keep his mouth shut.
Edit 3: It can also be seen that the "singers" haven't prepared very well, I mean, the beef is dancing for a while. He obviously has to think about what to do next, he's stalling for time.
The fridge also doesn't make ANY sense by rambling and rhyming. "Maybe we have to wait, until it's on a plate, or maybe we'll be to late!"
That's just rambling.
EDIT 4: Yup there's more realisations! At 3:38. The bird in a can is displayed as a "unhealthy, rude show-offy" food.

I really love and hate how they made the duck become more and more panicked and aware of what is about to happen. He keeps getting more and more anxious and more and more angered until he was consumed. Sad to see my favorite character like this

a common pattern that this series has is that the songs only become creepy when something appears to irritate the singers.

the clock gets angry when duck starts asking questions
the butterfly is a bit different because it's a cult but things dont go off the rails until yellow "overuses" love
the computer becomes enraged by red trying to push him away
and now these food people are aggravated by duck calling out their flawed logic.

The drawing pad is the only one who seems to be disturbed when reality broke down. "Now let's all agree to never be creative again..." But it does start to get creepy around those points. Well, blatantly creepy, ignoring the uncanniness of prior events.
