Heads up, when you get a tooltip from a loaded weapon like that, the Falloff range shown is actually precalculated to already show the sum of your Optimal Range and the Accuracy Falloff so you don't want to add them together yourself.
@@captainbenzie Yup, I was just pointing it out because in this video you didn't do that, you added the falloff to the optimal and that gives you the wrong number. At 5:55 your tooltip says optimal 2,813 and falloff 5,313 (which would make the "theoretical maximum" 7,813). You say you have "an optimal range of nearly 3km and a falloff out to essentially 8, before eventually falling off completely by about 13km". Then at 6:18 your tooltip shows 5,250 optimal, 12,000 falloff (so a "theoretical maximum" of 18,750) and you state "an optimal range of 5km, a falloff of 12, which means we're hitting at 50% dps at 17km and we can theoretically hit all the way out to 29km". None, in this video at all! It's rare for me to use implants since I shift ships so much, but I do have a Skill Clone and a clone I use for my Vagabond, but that's it!
I use ishtar for C3's. My fit uses a X-large C5l shield booster. That way I get more DPS out by freeing up the low slots. I can knock out about 700dps. Also I fit drone range on tops and no guns. I recently been testing out the vedmak as drone aggro can be annoying.
The thing that makes the VNI so good is that armor rep bonus that lets you tank through an unreasonable amount of damage. The Ishtar is a bit of a glass cannon by comparison , in PVP the ADC is great but for PvE a short burst of tank isn't what you need you need sustained tank which the Ishtar has no bonus to, the Ishtar's specialty is battleship damage on a cruiser which is great but doesn't help you survive being swarmed by rats.
THANK YOU. Someone who understands that the Ishtar isn't just a BETTER VNI 😂 It's also subtle, but for situations where drone aggro is an issue, the Ishtar doesn't generate much aggro itself whereas the VNI does. This also really helps the VNI by keeping the drones alive.
@@captainbenzieya they are not the same at all, the Ishtar wants to either kite or snipe the VNI wants to use that massive tank and just bulldozer right through the fight and brawl.

I cant se survivability being the problem as it has better base resistances then the VNI and if u did the same tactic with pulling the drones in while traveling to a new target i dont se what the problem could have been.
The simple issue with the Ishtar is that it has no way to keep Sleepers from aggroing your drones, which they do AGGRESSIVELY. You're defanged early or constantly returning drones and relaunching. The VNI holds aggro off the drones significantly better. It's a unique issue with J-Space
Pull them back when they get yellow boxed, but the VNI generates a LOT of threat itself so they don't often target the drones. This is why the VNI works but the Ishtar doesn't.
