1 very useful scanning trick once u have learn the ropes is to use planets and moons to faster scan down sites. Cosmic signatures are designed so that they can only spawn within 4AU from a moon or a planet. Using this knowledge we can place the center of the probes on the planet itself or inbetwinn the cosmic marker and the moon/planet and set the scan radius down to 4AU right away instead of 8AU. If there are multiple moons/planets around u can still miss your target but in most cases there is only gonna be 1. Ofc the better your scanning skills are the faster this is gonna go, but this 4AU trick will save u alot of time in the long run when scanning for anything.

Highly recommend creating a separate filter in your overview to use exclusively by D-Scan. Typically only including ships and probes.

Here because I flew my beginner Imicus into wormhole, did not bookmark and got stuck. I did a lot of probe scanner learning in that next half hour or so. I eventually scanned another wormhole down and was so desperate to get out I flew straight through only to end up deep in nul-sec with 40-odd jumps between me and relative safety. I decided to run the gauntlet and with about 10 jumps to go I was caught by the most aptly named ship given the circumstance - a Flycatcher. I was promptly destroyed. I messaged the pilot to compliment his ruthless efficiency and mentioned I was a new player who wandered ill-prepared into wormhole space. He answered in another language however I did leave a smiley in my message so he hopefully gleaned its postive tone. He kindly reimbursed me the cost of my ship. A bit of a crash course but when it was all done I was glad it played out exactly as it did. Cheers for a fantastic channel.

    Ahoy Captain! o7
I’m a returning pilot EVE and this past weekend I got myself a little Heron setup for exploration and went into my first few wormholes. First time in I didn’t find much besides NPC’s and more wormholes. My second WH I found a data site and got away with 24mil. I did one more before calling it a night and found a relic site with nearly 100mil ISK in loot. My heart was racing until I got over to Jita, it was the most exciting thing I’ve done in game in a long time.
Thank you for all your guides and videos, I wouldn’t have had the guts to even try WH’s without you.

guess I should have watched this 2 days ago was I'm brand new 16 days old when I ventured into my first WH. Was searching for data sites and ta da WH took me half an hour of watching the in game WH basics then you bet I WENT IN ... it was a M555 big enough to pull your house in wow, anyway everyone on rookie help was to busy with their chats to give any substantial help so I wasn't going to let fear and common sense get in my way...once inside I had a good look and there was a whole solar system in there, I had no idea but I could see 6 or 7 cosmic signatures just what I was searching for also 19 or so combat sights and 3 ore sites. So before plunging in I went back out to fetch my relic analyzer which was back at the school... 7 jumps away back I came the next morning because of the information I got by clicking on the WH, I knew it was going to be here for quite a few hrs more. I then had to rescan for it but I had the info written down so was quick...back in I went. First cosmic signature I scanned down turned out to be a data sight just what I needed for the capsuleer event. Was more difficult to scan than usual but I got it. Grit me teeth and headed for it forgot to bookmark the entrance oops also more important forgot to set a way point. As soon as I got there 3 seconds later was in my capsule blinking. Turned out was a sleeper site boo another million ISK probe gone...life in EVE. Always a learning adventure and fun...good thing the first thing I learned was how to make ISK in the market. Anyway if I come across another WH you can bet....I'm definitely heading in !!! Arora22

I went into wormholes totally blind. Jumped from place to place doing data sites. Got lost with more money in my cargo than I've ever seen in this game. Eventually find a wh back to my corner of space. Warp in. As im on approach, another homie pops out. Hit the stealth. Most tense game in my entire life as he deploys his drones and starts trying to get close enough to knock me out of it. Came down to a game of us both choosing direction and seee who wins

So i uncloak and start blasting him with my tengu and he scrams me and then 3 paladins show up and basically took me out within seconds.

Hey Benzie! I have watched a ton of your videos, joined discord, and Catskull Cartel. I just wanted to tell you and others who may see these comments that yesterday I spent all day searching for a gas site. I went in and out of wormholes, chained wormholes, even set up a "perch" and worked a few data sites along the way. I totally expected to die at some point, but I did not. Great pointers in all of these videos. I have not been playing long but I was so surprised to have been able to play for so long and not die. I actually got far enough away from "home" that I kind of wish someone would have got me, but I counted it a success getting all the way back to Tolle. Anyway, thanks for the great content! btw, not that it matters, but I am 66 years old, and fairly new to Eve Online.

I was scanning some areas and made a few location bookmarks to get back to later. I was attacked by who knows what, and I managed to get out and warp home using the methods you decribed here. I made it by the skin of my teeth, but I made it. It was sooooo much fun! I was 49% damaged by the time I got back to my home station. I'm a menace and I talk into local. Many people probe me down and warp cloaked to me but I always manage to escape. One dude even complimented my routine and indicated me to a system with loot !
If you want to be safe out there and talk in wormhole, here's my secret.
Dscan often, because people will Dscan you before probing and these dudes probe really fucking fast. One scan, you're found. So you need to catch these probes on Dscan.
Even in a safe, either unaligned or deep space (we can never be too sure) keep fucking moving. Keep props on and align to another safe (or a random celestial, tho it's less safe, it's better than nothing). Perfer microwarp drives. 2.5km/s can make an ennemy that warps to you be 50+ km away when they reach the end of their warp. If they aren't cloaked, you should notice them.
If they are, hope you are faster than them because they will pursue you cloaked. I'm not omega so I don't have cloak, but I think most cloaks have a speed penalty. You should be safe, but please optimise your ships for speed.
If you're really worried about speed, ditch the heron and get yourself the probe. One more low slot and more base speed ? Get yourself an overdrive, you'll be zooming around like a madman !
I prefer to keep using heron tho. in midslots I run one cargo scanner for cans, better run those sites fast, and I run that module that makes scanning faster instead of more accurate. You want to stick in one place as little as possible.
Do not use any other t1 explorers than the heron or the probe.
    Tips for venture :
Maybe scout ahead gas with a regular explorer. Venture has no bonus for scanning, you'll waste time. Plus, can't fit the scanner that fits combat probes, you'll see why that's relevant.
Finally, use combat probes. Make other explorers you're trying to find them ! Make campers think you're ready for a fight ! That will decourage some, not all, but that's already that. you only lose the 0.25au range scan, and no loss in strength at any other range contrary to probe description.
