Abyssal Deadspaces are one of EVE Online's coolest features and are a great way to make ISK.
In this video, we talk about how to complete Abyssal Deadspaces in a basic Tristan, why you'd want to, and why I think they'd be great for EVE Echoes!

Thanks Captain, I did it exactly in the way as you described. Was more than helpful and perfect especially for a new player. I appriciate your step by step explanations. Many thanks for your effort to set up these videos.
Glad it helped!
Just did my first... you should really emphasize the need to recall drones as SOON as they start taking damage. I lost my first flight (all 5) in the first room... got REALLY lucky that I only had one enemy in the other two rooms. Milked my final two drones to victory, and barely broke even... now it's time to get better with me drone skillz. :)
If drones are taking damage that fast, it may be that you've flown into a Deviant Automata Suppressor field. They're towers that do an AOE pulse that damages drones, missiles, and Rogue Drone frigates.
So i just got myself a rattle snake and saw your video about it and i just wanted to say thank you it was a god send because i wasnt sure how to outfit it
Nice vid for beginners, I'm learning to run Abyssals, and one important thing you forgot to mention is the Wall of Doom. I lost more ships to the wall than actual enemies (T1 Abyssals have lots more enemies). So situational awareness is very important.
"Wall of Doom"
no further explanation given
thanks
@@FizzleFX The abyssal rooms are limited in size, you can't clearly see the limits (Wall of Doom) but if you hit them it's insta death. When trying to circle the enemies, it's easy to lose track of your position and hit the limits of the room, thus losing your ship.
oof

Great work! Renewed my love for this game!
Awesome, thank you!! I've been going hard making EVE Online content lately, I'm glad you enjoyed!!
Thank you for this video, im a new player and will try this now! :)
Good luck!!
After 3 years with Eve Echoes, I finally left for good. Planning to move to Eve Online by September. Thank you Capt Benzie, for the videos.
Welcome to the REAL New Eden!!
Best video I have seen explaining it nice and simply.
Thank you so much 🙂
Very nice I feel like I've made such a mistake not running the T0's at least in a frigate the loot is soo much better. I had only been doing them in the safty of a cruiser and the loot is kinda meh, but the triple frigate loot is nice and The Tristan does pretty well in this only 1 time I ever got into a little trouble. Also you can barely squeeze a remote armor rep on the last top slot to fix any drones that take too much damage which is rare unless you accidentally leave them out in one of the pylons things that attack drones in an aoe.
Also I didn't see a need for overheating.....then I met the dreaded Hunter and made the mistake of getting to close to it. That dang thing almost got me to hull at down to like 5% armor. The hunter is a enemy id def have overheating and keeping your distance. I'd be toast if 2 of them ever popped up in a T0
edit: The Lancer cruiser is deadly as well lol
Literally made around 500M doing these in my first weeks. Great content cap o7
That was great, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Capitan amazing video ,very useful to me.Could you please provide the drone skills required to survive ?
I literally love my gallente ships! I was afraid to go in with Tristan but fortunately i had enough money to fit an algos. I successfully did it! I did a t0 electrical and fire storm abyss, woo! But then i became overconfident and tried t1 deadspace. I got harassed, big time, by Epialthes Lancers.....
Did you survive or restart?
@@trident5610 nah I left that altogether. The income felt like a waste of time.
@@M1551NGN0 oh
@@M1551NGN0It is a waste of time unless you are doing higher a tier. Trading in those surveys for 100isk vs salvaging isn't worth the risk. I use to run six to 10 filaments back to back I make more rattling/ salvaging imo.
@@trident5610 are you able to warp out of those rooms if you start taking too much damage?
Thank you Captain!
Hope it helps!
14:50 in echoes there was a glitch in n space that made it so drone won't automatically go back to your ship when you jump to another room, and honestly i wish it's actually a feature, cause it would make drones more precious and tactical
@@captainbenzie if they make it so drone do the same dps as other weapons then I won't mind it. If you think it's op, you need to remember drones ship need longer time to warp( if they implement the recall thing) and it can be destroyed
@@captainbenzie 1st off we need WAAAAY better control of our drones before they implement something like that. currently it's a pain to swap drone sets from like EM to Explosion drones much less try and recall them. If ships with drones had the option to put maybe another option onscreen button to quick swap or a quick recall then I'd be down for something like that but currently there would prob be thousand of drones left all over the place in space if they put it in now with less ease of controls lol.
Just use hot keys lol
Well, this is 100% new to - one of those things I've wanted to know for a while about Eve, but was wary of asking! Cheers captain.
One other thing though - in terms of lore, what exactly are filaments?
@@captainbenzie Got it. Thanks
Just exploded a caracal in an abyssal so decided to hop into my tristan for a tranquil electric. Room one dedicated hunter absolutely shredded me and i'm down almost 100mil isk in 5 minutes
My corp set up our first citadel in a beautiful, out of the way, (but still close to cool stuff) system just 6 months before the Triglavian invasion. The system name? Raravoss.
Yeah.
Great vid
Thank you! 🚀
Can you do these without drones? And how does the loot differ on the T0 ADs if you go in with a destroyer or cruiser as opposed to a frigate?
My favorite thing was the big sites in the invasion systems, did them with a few buddies with a couple of us multiboxing, they should have kept that in the game, most fun I ever had doing pve in Eve.
I went from running t0s in a caracal that i could barely afford to running t6 in a cerberus with a 2.5b isk pod and a ship that could be auctioned off for 7b due to the abyss mods. Abyss is serious level isk at the high level, once you hit t5 really your isk gain becomes in the hundreds of mills an hr, and at t6 its about 350m isk an hour
then there is triple boxing assault frigs in t6 which will make 1.2b isk/hr
Would you mind sharing your Cerberus fit? I've been apprehensive moving up past agitated filaments with mine. Maybe I'm just being too cautious, but I don't really want to lose one either.
*_IMPORTANT NOTE_* on the Level 1 fit that is used here - the original plan that can be found through Uriel's links to his original posts utilize a _Tier 2_ Multispectrum Shield Hardener instead of the _Tier 1_ that is shown in this video. The list of skills Uriel provides to prepare for his builds _does not_ include the required skill _Tactical Shield Manipulation IV_ that the Tier 2 Hardener asks for. Benzie just used Tier 1 (which eats a lot more power so you run out even faster), so don't be confused if you follow the original guide because you wanted some additional information. The one extra skill is another quarter million Skill Points extra, though, so keep that in mind. If you don't need it for other stuff, I guess it's not worth it.
Yeah, this fit is designed to fit within the 1m free SP from a referral link, hence the slight downgrade on the hardener. It still works, just requires a touch more care.
So proud of you moving into real EVE, Id say just keep the like & subscribe bit shorter and ask you're viewers there thought on select point you're making and to let you now in the comments. Its a lot like women my man, don't want to come off to despite. As always, Fly Sensible have fun and remember to keep them hardeners on. o7
Abyss runs are great for a quick game or three. :)
Amen, content on demand!
can you do a video to show how and what ship to use for DED LP earning what are my options where to go etc
If you enter an Abyssal and find enemies with drones, can you scoop the enemy drones once the controlling ship is dead? As extra loot or something you can use in future content?
No, sadly not
another great vid for us noobs, thank you :)
Glad to help!
Has there been any spawn changes recently to the abyss as in last 2 months or so? I have been doing alot of T1 Abyss running in my Worm and for the last couple weeks i have never run into the monster enemy in T1 being the Devoted Knight. Have they removed that spawn from T1 or have i just been very lucky to never se it?
For any1 that dont know the Devoted Knight is a Cruiser that can hit u somewhat reliable all the way out to 40-45km so u would think it uses long range weapons. However its also nearly impossable to reliable speed tank the thing even at 500m becouse not only does it hit hard at long range, it also has god lvl tracking so close range speed tanking it is also out of the question. Not sure how your supposed to actually fight this thing when the only quaranteed way to survive it (atleast in an active tanked Worm) is to get close enough to lock it up, send your drones at it and then burn away again outside of 50km and stay at that range untill the drones have killed it and only then can u go for the loot. This thing is easily 4x more deadly then anything else in a T1 abyss.
No, the Devoted Knight is 100% still in there. Lost a Worm on Monday to one as it spawned in a room with the single largest Bioluminescence Cloud I have ever seen in an Abyssal. Could still hit me up close and wrecked me before I could move.
@@captainbenzie Not sure what they were thinking adding that to a T1 where Frigates are most comonly used. If they want it to have this good tracking then okey give it short range weapons or atleast lower its dmg beyond 20km, or the opposite give it long range that dont apply so good up close thats how every weapon system in Eve works. But apparently not for this thing as its optimal appear to be as far as its targeting range. It would be intresting to se the kill ration of this thing compared to everything else.
Great video and very informative. But why not run it in a Cruiser? Less chance of getting killed and using only 1 filament. Or are the rewards less because you are only using one filament?
Yes, Cruisers must be solo and get 1x loot. Destroyers, you can have up to two of you in the Abyssal, so the loot is doubled. Frigates, you can have up to three of you in the Abyssal, so the loot is tripled.
Also, don't get trapped into thinking "Cruisers are better than frigates" 😉 that's not how it works in EVE.
just followed this guide and got my first two t0 deadspaces completed, afterwards I got overzealous and tried a t1 and lost my cruiser lol thanks I think
Well done for taking the risk, you've now learned the difficulty spikes. Loss is part of learning in EVE, don't be ashamed of it, learn from it.
I have a load of other fits in this playlist too that may help!
😂😂😂
I was watching the video and getting ready to do my first, when I entered I found out my Tristan had no fittings.... Lucky my drones was strong enough to finish the Abyssal since you can't quit mid through
Ooof crikey! Well done for surviving though!
Question: Does killing Triglavian or EDENCOM forces in Abyssal Deadspace give negative faction standing? I'm new and I really want to try to befriend them both.
No, it doesn't affect standings
@@captainbenzie Thanks! Eve Online is honestly terrible at showing what content the game has, and how to access it. These dead space missions are like single player dungeons that you can just teleport to at a whim, which is nice.
@@ichbinein123 exactly why I love them. I prefer wormhole ratting but not always possible. Abyssals are always available.
It does *kinda* direct you to them via the new AOR Career Program and the tutorials inside them but it's fairly hard to find and not well signposted.
Is it possible to wait till all the npc's aggro your ship before deploying your drones? Or do abyssals work differently?
You can, but they'll still shift to target drones eventually
Thanks Cap!
Can you use this build but with Hobgoblin II drones instead?
Yes for sure! That said, it's probably better to use Acolytes for the EM.damage as that punches through the resist hole.
I want these in Eve Echoes
Nihilus space are basically prototype for abyssal space. They just need to make a n-space that are for solo
@@blitzmustang1588 I was very excited when Nihilus space came out because I thought they would be similar to Abyssals. They are fun but I like the Abyssal model better. Wish they would expand on the Nihilus a bit more.
I'll try Tristan. I lost 2 Catalysts on T1. T0 Abyss is crap. I don't have cruiser skills yet to fly a Vexor.
@@captainbenzie really? So I'll try it again haha. Maybe it wasn't my day
I just went into a Calm deadspace with a super shielded Gila (overpowered I now know) and with only 1 minute left on the timer I was about to lose 600+ million ISK. I guess I need a way faster ship?
@@captainbenzie Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely try both ship classes soon!
Does this setup work with all T0 abyssals or just electrical?
Best in Electrical. It can run the others but it's harder. You have to cycle and have good piloting skills.
Thank you! Love your videos, they have really helped me with my start into EVE Online
@@shiny_penguin I'm really glad to help
Yea the bots don't let you sell anything manually and the market will recreate listing that aren't there
Sadly i dont have the time for the latest updates and not the time for the next few weeks either.... maybe i can make something out of the industry update later this year ... well well well
Cap Benzie is this Tristan fit viable for ALL tranquils?
It's best in Electrics but can technically run the others
@@captainbenzie Is there a frigate ship that can run every T1 abyssal comfortably?

Crates come via AIR Career. Better to just buy the filaments individually.
Abba-ssal 😊
I mean, it should just be "abyss"-al, but for some reason I often move the stress.
@@captainbenzie just mentioning it light-heartedly, no offense intended 😊
Entered on one, started orbiting and hitting the enemies, they were missing me but I was taking damage from nowhere and got destroyed in seconds... still dont know what the f happened
Possibly went outside the arena? That hurts a LOT.
@@captainbenzie now that you say probably, was using a cruiser and orbiting at 45+km.
On a happier note, got no problems with the Tristan/drones fit and with the loots I've been selling I almost covered up the price of my last Omen.

the cpu is draining to death , how urs is not ?
Do you mean Capacitor? Make sure you're in an Electric Abyssal, it gets bonuses to Capacitor
ephialtes lancer... couldnt kill it in first room and lost all drones
Oof sorry to hear that
Can you do this as an f2p players?
Yeah
I think it is impotant to say in your video that this build is specifically for Tranquil abyssal only! In Calm I got completely dessimated.
Or explain tactics on how to approach Calm Filaments. Cause your Drones go down in a whim
I did state it's Tranquil 😉 very few T1 Frigates can do Calms, that's mostly T2 Assault/Faction Frigate territory.
How do u get 50m isk in hour doing that?
Run it repeatedly. Fast enough, you make around 45-55m in loot
Noise
🚀
Make sure to set your orbits low around 10km or you will regret it😂😂
Yup
Cache is pronounced cash not caysh :p Sorry, great video but that was bugging me lol
I've addressed this in other videos but there are different pronunciations. That said, if this is the only issue, I'll take that as a good thing!! 😊🚀
Always read Cashhey in my head for some reason
U use 3 filament, which is 450k. Why wouldnt u just use a destroyer instead and use 1 filament?
Destroyer uses two filaments. Cruiser uses one.
Destroyer doubles the loot inside the Abyssal. Frigate triple the loot.
The only thing that the good Captain forgot to tell us is that, within the abyssal, you will face enemies that will start shooting at you with powerful weapons from a range of about 50km. So, if you have not upgraded your skills to start fighting with your drones from such a distance, you will be at a disadvantage. In my case, my Drone Avionics skill is upgraded to level 3 which gives me a 35km range with my drones. Have I known that, I would not have tried to do an abyssal deadspace mission. I tried 2 times and got wasted both times and lost everything. Buyer beware!
Never fly straight at enemies. Spiral inwards.
>goes to a random wormhole relic site
>successfully hacks medium difficulty can
>gets 60 million salvage first try
>one can down 5 more to go with many more sites to find
Well, yes. I've covered exploration at length too but I want to offer different routes and playstyles! Glad you found a good haul though!
So, why are electrical so much more expensive on the market (about 130k) versus the others? Dark, for instance, is like 27k.
And what is Eve Echoes? I haven't touched the game in 7 years. But I've got 22 Worms, 72 Gilas, and 11 Rattlesnakes from way back then... so having ships to fly is no big issue.
Is the contents of the abyss modified whatsoever by the security rating of the system it's initiated in?
Can i have 1 gila
Things have changed it seems, you can't get nearly as much in lower tier Abyss now
Still good ISK for a day one player ☺️
Thought I might like to play this game but I didn't understand one damn thing and all the spreadsheet type crap is just throwing me off.
Take it slow. EVE is incredibly deep but you don't need to know it all on Day One. In fact, a lot of it you don't need to know at all depending on what you're doing.
Do the tutorials, the Career Agents, and then look at the AIR Career Program. Whilst you're here, check out the Catskull Academy playlist on my channel too.
Finally, I strongly recommend finding a good corp. Players can teach you better than a tutorial can.
so how is 1.766m isk in 7 minutes "50m isk an hour"?
Because what you see in the video is a representation. I know the average per site and the time I can run those in when I'm not also focusing on talking and showcasing. Not to mention, BPCs don't show up in the loot evaluation since they have to be contracted not directly marketed 🚀
fair enough, i haven't seen a BPC yet but doesn't mean you're wrong@@captainbenzie
2 m -10 min. ??? 50M / H
That's not accounting the BPs you get
I give up on this! twice without a problem! the third time at the start is killing me!?!
@@captainbenzie
@@ivicagecin4931 welcome to the world of Abyssals. Some runs are tougher than others so the trick is finding a ship good enough to run well for the majority of the runs, but cheap enough that losses don't hurt too much. Keep at it. As you play more you'll learn how the ship pilots more and be more frequently successful.
So 35 hours to plex your account.
Over a month, that's not bad at all for Day One skills and ship.
thats not 50M/h
If you look at this one run and extrapolate outwards, correct. But nobody seriously thinks that a single data point is sufficient for extrapolation, surely?
This run was low value, no good BPs etc. BPs also don't show up in your cargo's estimated value.
after 20mins you lose all..... 💩 gamedesign
I mean sure, if you suck
so bad video, im new player and it brought more confusion than benefit. Does anyone know of a better video?
There's also my Everything About Abyssals video that covers the basics. Might help.
Dude, i just did exactly that. Guess what happened, my first run a Skybreaker Disparu Troop spawn in the last room. Zero chance. Thanks for preparing me for this eventuality.
Help chat immediately told me to not listen to your videos because of exactly this, you leave out absolute key facts to post these HOW TO MAKE 29830523ISK per HOUR videos.
Very dishonest, no? :(
You can overheat for those and fly carefully. Also, losing a ship every now and then is part of EVE. It's a game. At no point did I say "This 100% works every time with zero risk".
Welcome to EVE.
absolutely useless video, did everything perfectly and the ships just wiped my drones immediately. lost everything
You clearly didn't do everything perfectly then since nothing in this video has changed and I clearly showcase it working.
Whilst I understand that it can be frustrating, to succeed at EVE, you'll absolutely need to be retrospective. Look at what happened, consider what went wrong and how you can learn and grow.
