@Jay Jones You sure about that buddy ??? You do realize that the world is bigger than the US, because in other countries they absolutely wear mask during flu season. Most other people will wear mask if they think they are coming down with a cold. Most of the world thinks America is weird for never wearing mask and they thought this even before the corona
@Jay Jones Not to attack you brother, but people who aren't scientists shouldn't just spit out numbers without actually doing any research. The 25,000 to 69,000 numbers cited on the CDC website do not represent "counted/confirmed" flu deaths per year; they are estimates that the CDC produces by multiplying the number of flu death counts reported by various coefficients produced through complicated algorithms. These coefficients are based on assumptions of how many cases, hospitalizations, and deaths they believe went unreported. In the last six flu seasons, the CDC’s reported number of actual confirmed flu deaths-that is, counting flu deaths the way we are currently counting deaths from the coronavirus-has ranged from 3,448 to 15,620, which far lower than the numbers commonly repeated by public officials and even public health experts. As of 6/24 we've counted/confirmed over 123,000 coronavirus deaths in the US. In MUCH less than a year. Which shows the real danger we're in. If you took the same algorithms used to calculate that 60k flu number you're talking about and applied them to COVID-19, the estimates would also be several times higher than the actual "counted" COVID deaths. Which is another way that people, like yourself, try to minimize the actual impact of COVID. People like Joe point at the lower death count compared to "projections" and say, "See? They overreacted." Not realizing that they're comparing apples to oranges, estimates to confirmed deaths. When we do compare ACTUAL confirmed deaths to actual confirmed deaths, the data is scary. And you would wear a fucking mask.
@Jay Jones is the same clown that would deride the government and insist this is another example of their uselessness had they determined there was no risk, did nothing and hundreds of thousands of people died because of it. Some people are just looking for something to be victimized by.

@Jay Jones I feel like we should wear masks because the majority of health experts are saying that it's the safest bet for lives moving forward. It's a new virus and they're treating it with extreme caution and I can understand that. Do you have distrust in professionals/scientific consensus?
