"Was he ruling by fear a little bit?"
"No, he wasn't ruling by fear" Gary replied, overcome with fear
Roy probably thought Denis Irwin should have won a Ballon d'Or
Well, he's a good Cork man.
@@martinocallaghan590 you do realise that's not Roy Keane don't you?
He is better than messi
Roy Keane is not wrong.
Dennis irwin was one of the best full backs ever he was as good as left or right back
Gary Neville calls Roy Keane the best player he played with.
Roy Keane: “That’s His Job!”
good one.
nooooooooooo way i dont think I heard this joke before, you are quite creative.
@@finneas9894 that's my job
Its like praising the postman for delivering the mail.
If you listen closely, you can hear Roy Keane from outside the studio, saying “Gary! Best captain? That was my job! You don’t thank me for doing my job! Dear oh dear”
Haha
Gary's living in cuckoo land.
@@Animik.Rahman.9 why?
@@thorpeylad9822 Cause he believed in Ole and he's praising Roy for doing his job.
@@Animik.Rahman.9 yeah fair enough on oly bit but I think keane was legendary enough to Be singled out as great
The way Keane stands up to viera when he's having a go at Gary in the tunnel sums up Keane brilliantly, knowing Gary's not a tough guy Keane backs him up have a go at me then cause Keane loved a fight
After reading Roy's book(s), it seems the early retirement of Cantona making him captain plus the cruciate injury in '97 were key to him becoming the incredible midfielder he was. He was good pre '97 but probably lacking in professionalism and standards. Post 97 he knuckled down and just became a lunatic.
It would be great, if you could provide the names of the books?
@@AdityaJyothilal I'd say he's referring to the 2002 Biography, the one ghosted by Eamon Dunphy. "Roy Keane: The Autobiography". It's infamous for the Haaland comments in particular.
He was a bit more nuanced. Before that injury he was something else to watch though in a different sense, box-to-box energy on another level, but a bit wilder and less polished (naturally as he was so young). if you watch any of the pre-injury games it's hard to fathom his energy and the ground he covered.
@@SavoPaddy yeah. He adapted his game very well in 2nd half of his career and sat more while still being massively effective.
@@SavoPaddy Thank you, appreciate the explanation 👍🏼
I think any team in the world right now would take keane in his prime. Such a reliable player of top quality with passion for the game. No need to look fancy if you get the job done 💪
Keane in his prime in todays' market would make him the most valuable player on the planet
Undoubtedly
@@ianmills5237i totally agree with you but imagine Roy playing for Man Utd today with the crazy price tags we see on players.
I don’t think £100 million to go to Man City or Real Madrid would buy his loyalty. I know for a fact he would stay at Man Utd end of!
any team in the world ever, would have Roy in the team.
when i heard keane wasnt playin next game back then i thought ah bollox we mite be in trouble here
prime Keane was best midfielder in premier league history and I've not seen a better midfielder before or since and let's not forget the players and captains Neville played with when with England and rightfully so no one else even gets a mention.
No he wasn't, great midfielder, not the best.
Brilliant explanation from G. Neville,
Keane was a winner and a leader, he still is!
🔥⚽💪
I agree, Roy is the best captain Utd have ever had. Fab player
Better than Bryan Robson?…..or as good…😁😁

Travesty right there.. at least it’s not Fred
ROY KEANE SHOULD BE THE NEXT MANAGER OF MAN UTD
Roy was all about standards and leading by example.
Garry: Roy was the best captain
Roy: 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄. It was my job. It would be a disgrace not to be the best.
So if Keane was the best player on the pitch in the best Premier League team of the time (and he was) why is it that, whenever choosing the best midfield of the Premier League, everyone dicks around with Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes and Vieira? Keane was better than all of them, and if you asked them, I think they'd agree. First name on the team sheet for a Premier League XI .
Roy the Man
Ryan giggs said: l was more scared of Roy than Sir Alex. 😂 😂 😂
United NEED someone like Keane for manager position someone who WILL get every player playing their best, drop the weak links, make some changes, instil confidence back into them and ultimately drive United back to former glory.
Roy: most inspirational player EVER??? ..... that almost insults me, what does he expect me to do. Not be the most inspirational player in the team. Not be the best player. Not run the two yards to win the BALL? It was TWO YARDS GARY.... TWO YARDS !!! No, no, no I get insulted when people label me like that.
Lol 🤣🤣🤣...
Hahahaha 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Keane was a legend
Roy Keane is without a doubt the best captain ever in world football. If there was pictures in the dictionary to describe words. The word Captain would 100% have a picture of a miserable Roy next to it 🤣👍
Roy's performance against Juventus in the CL semi finals in 1999 sums him up perfectly. He knew he would miss the final due to a booking but his unselfish performance was unique to witness. His desire and single mindedness was inspirational.

Absolute L.E.G.E.N.D ROY KEANE!
Roy’s stare with his chin alittle lowered to one side is basically a free dose of vitamin discipline for your body. United lack that these days

Roy Keane is now offended as this was his job! 😂
Sounds like Ole.
Ole?
Bryan Robson was United best captain
Injuries say otherwise and that's before you get to the 10 pints a night influence he had at the club that Fergy had to clear out. Robson was great on the pitch when he wasn't injured, but even then, great as he could still play despite the booze, he ensured less from his own team mates by being a key man in that drinking culture.
Kean is a MILES better captain because of the standards he set on and off the pitch.
@@christophercoey7804 ha ha ha I disagree with you mate, how many times did Keane get sent off making life difficult for the team, the Haaland kick, shearer fight, the semifinal against arsenal come to mind, ROBBO is the best Manchester United captain in their history even the best-united manager Fergie said Robbo was his best ever captain,

Oh really? Are you scared of him these days perhaps?
Well that was my job wasn’t it?
Maguire was robbed
I don't know what it is but United players always stick to United players for praise during the Ferguson era that is. That said, Ferguson has admitted that throughout his 20 odd year in Management he only really had 3 world class players: Giggs, Cantona and Ronaldo. I can definitely say that the rest of the players were pretty average for the most part. I mean the Neville brothers, even Keane - were they really that good ?? I don't think so.
Peter Schmeichel was a world class keeper. Denis Irwin was world class but was not exotic enough to get that accolade. He was the most consistent full back at the time. Irwin was more consistent than Roberto Carlos or Cafu. If Irwin was Brazilian,Spanish or Italian I bet he would be considered world class.
Let me illustrate how good Keano was, early in the 1997-98 season he sustained an ACL injury & was out for the season & they ended up with no silverware. The following season with a fit & raring to go Keano they did the impossible an unprecedented treble & thereafter won 3 Premier League titles on the trot which no other club have reproduced.
Watch the 99 UCL semi away against Juve where Keano bossed a midfield comprising Zidane & Davids.
@@GholamFareed In 1998 they also brought in Jaap Stam and Dwight Yorke which made a huge impact on the defense and goals scored. Believe me, one player never makes a team.
@@amdistant5547 when did I say that 1 player makes a team??? Why are you putting words in my mouth??? All I'm saying is that Keano improved that team with his presense & not that he won everything single-handedly!!!
Roy would never be a captain in this day and age, but for his time, he was the business.
The game is currently devoid of such characters and is worse off for it.
No way he'd still be captain. Which player or coach would tell him no?
Of course he would
Roy Keane in this era would be speaking to Maguire the same way the pirate spoke to Tom Hanks; "I am the captain now!"
Lost all respect for neville after the ole fiasco....absolute embarrassment to the profession. He's done now and he knows it, will be gone at end of season from sky
Jorginho was robbed
Your brain was robbed
Roy is definitely all about standards.
He got sent home from the World Cup because he wouldn't stop arguing that the standards and facilities for the team were unacceptable.
Although it's true he was unhappy with the facilities, the reason he got sent home was for kicking off with Mccarthy after he basically accused him of faking an injury to miss a qualifying game.
@@cliffclavin3865 Oh right.. Damn, that's a brave thing to do, I'm surprised McCarthy got out of that situation without significant physical injury!
@@cliffclavin3865 Even as a Liverpool fan I could never believe Keane would have done that.
Pogba will give ball away 5 times in 20 mins
Roy wudnt give ball away 5 times in 20 games
So many times I've seen Pogba dribble in his own half and lose the ball. I don't get him.
@@sukhdevr3489 overconfidence and as Roy would say, lives in cuckoo land.
@@kwl189 Agreed, he clearly isn't a team player. Imagine having someone like that on your team. He's not in it to win, he just causally jogs around the pitch.
@@sukhdevr3489 I can’t see him doing this at Madrid or PSG either. He doesn’t have the characteristics for it whether it be physically or personality wise. He could get away with it in Italy though.

It wasn't fear it was discipline!
When you see your captain going into war mode, taking things extremely seriously and performing well week in week out you just have to pull your socks up and get up to speed. Roy gave it 100% every week.
By contrast, if Maguire is actually giving it 100% he just isn't 50% of the player, so the standards he sets are probably half as high, if that.
Why is there the need for people to lambast Maguire at every single opportunity? It’s obsessive
@@iPro3million He’s the captain he leads the teams when he’s putting in comical performances week in week out do you expect silence?
