Hey guys, here's my take on this Dirty Dozen inspired watch from Baltany, but should you consider it over the alternatives? Thanks guys and enjoy your sunday.
Very nice watch! I really like it. Baltany have their own way of doing things. They stick to what they're best at. They even know how to do branding right. Despite being a racing style strap I like the colour of the strap you chose.
I think so to and they really have done their own thing and its working. Yeah the racing was a bit mismatched but you're right about the colour. Cheers mate
I’ve seen a few of these, and I really really love the look of these. So crisp and clean and love the running seconds subdial! Digging the little polished edges on the side profile contrasted against the brushing. On camera I couldn’t quite see the colour mismatch that you were referring too. Another watch I am really digging is the Douglas or the Wolbrook field watches have you seen them? The strap you have this one on looks amazing with it imo Love that this is a grab and go too, have to put one of these in my wish list!
Agree mate and the mismatch is subtle but noticeable in person and I've heard of Wolbrook but not the other. I would really like to see one in the metal. Thanks
I own one of the real Dirty Dozen watches, mine is the Cyma, beautiful watch and the only watch I own on a canvas strap as I was able to source an Olive Green NOS strap made in the forties made for military use and I would highly recommend you try to find a two piece green fabric strap for this one to make it feel even more authentic . The only thing that jars for on this one are the hands. They have tried to replicate the Buren and Omega hands but they just look off. Try to source the simpler straight hands as on my Cyma or the Longines, it’s a much cleaner look.
Also, question you may have the answer for, its my understanding that a lot of brand have their watches made at the same few factories (or they trying hard to develop business relationship with) who have proved they can do quality stuff and its my understanding that some of those factories or the people behind them have their own brands too. Who are they? Always thought Corgeut was one of them and Baltany is my second usual suspect but my level of uncertainty is too damn high. Do you happen to know if they are?
Is a good question mate, from what I gather, goes something like this Pagani, guanqin and cadisen work together. (from what I gather) Pagani owns benyar (I think) Addiesdive and steeldive are separate but are made in the same factory Octopus kraken and baltany are run by the same company (as far as I'm aware) Rmalti is owned by Shenzen rose which owns more brands San martin are their own company, but possibly work with others But they all appear to work in the same area, so it's possible they all have some sort of connection. Not sure exactly to what degree though.
Hey Wes, like it, buuuuut too small and way too pricey. Here in Brazil Orient makes quartz watches, all stainless steel, usually bracelets, lots and lots of styles, Seiko movements as Orient doesn't do quartz. To be fair, folded link bracelets and no screw down crown. Priced around sixty dollars and up, on promotion more like forty. With the possibility of one hundred percent taxation on a watch like this, Ali Ex is pricing themselves out of the market. I mean, even in your market, for that price, you can get loads of Casios, analog and digital, Casio Edifuces, Lorus, Invicta, Accuurist among many others. Why would one get the Baltany at this price? Little to no support/warranty, wait time, difficult brand to sell on if you don't like it/tire of it.
I'm starting to agree mate, their price is constantly getting more and more whereas the main brands (except seiko) are staying pretty much the same. They aren't as amazing value as they used to be.
@@WesWatchRoom Unfortunately yes. I looked around and for the one hundred and change pounds even some EcoDrive Citizens can be found. And I would think that even a Seiko or two quartz can be had.
I really like Baltany. They make great watches. I think I like all of them 😅 Great honest review, as usual 👍 I hope you are happy with your new job, Wes. Can't wait for your next video 😅
Thank you mate and its taking up just about all my free time but I really am enjoying it. I like the baltany too, just wish the tax wasn't so excessive here.

Great seeing this one. Thanks mate
Appreciate you watching mate, cheers
Really digging this brand, I like the routhe their taking, and good spot on that small second hand, I hadn't noticed but now hard to ignore.
Me too mate and I know why its mistmatched. They used a two tone lume so that is all really. Appreciate you watching mate and I hope all is well.
Great looking watch. 38mm is too small for me, but it looks great. Would look fabulous on a decent green nato.

Nice and I like the hands but I get where you are coming from on that, the cyma style would look way nicer. Cheers
Not bad for the cost at all (minus that tax). Thanks Wes.
I agree, the tax is a real downer at the moment. Thanks
Baltany is definitely one of the best brands coming out of AliExpress.
They are really up there for sure. Thanks mate
I bought at £107 from the UK outlet (with a £15 discount) I think it's a cracking watch for the money 👍
Nice one! Enjoy
There are a lot of things I like about this watch and I totally agree with you mate. It makes a lot of sense when picking it up at retail.
Thanks mate, appreciate the support and yeah if you can grab it at a good price, then it is a solid buy
In Baltany UK, it is priced as 122 pounds.
Okay, is that before or after tax though?

Baltany has out done themselves with this mate. Even though it quartz looks great I wouldn't mind seeing them do a manual wind in the future
Good shout mate, a manual would really tie in with the vintage vibes. Thanks for watching
Really like the look of this one
Me too mate, especially if you don't pay the tax. Cheers
Not a bad beater If you love military inspired classics. The price however makes it a bit of a hard sell. Have a great weekend bud!
Agreed mate, that tax really does push it beyond affordable beater. Have a good one too.
Small wrist, must feel like a curse in these days of big watches. I really dig the rally strap you put on it. Is it one you can find on AliEx too?
It can at times and the strap was from Cheapest Nato Straps, but aliexpress do sell similar. Thanks

A bit too pricey I feel. They're pushing into San Martin territory. I'm considering purchasing but it doesn't even come with free shipping!
Yeah it is on the more expensive side and isn't quite up to san martin standard either

I'm french, and the taxes are so excessive as well here 😭

Deffo, its a really good watch for the money
