Hey guys, been a bit of a while since the last upload but here is what I think of the new escapement time chronograph. What do you think of it? Have a good one guys.
Nice looking watch but pricey 162€ with VAT delivered to Spain. My Pagani moonwatch with VK movement and better specs was 88€ in the last Summer sale, other models ca. 110€ with tax out of sale. There is even a version of the 1963 chrono with Miyota Mecca Quartz for 99€ on Ali. Regards
ET is my favorite Chinese watch company. I don't care for the style of this one that much but I have his new dress watch on the way. Thanks for the excellent review!
Nice looking vintage style piece, a running seconds hand instead of a 24hr dial would make a world of difference to it though that would've finished it off nicely. The VAT taking the price up to £140 is a bit of a killer 😳
Agreed on both fronts mate, it's a lovely watch, just needs a bit of movement and yeah that price point with our VAT is a lot. Thanks for watching mate
Wes, I think they only blued the two hands you mention because they are the ones that have to do with chronograph function, if they blued the 24 hr hand that could lead to confusion when making a buying decision. Very beautiful, but a little too pricy IMO. Thanks!!!
I see, cheers mate and I see that, but most buyers would likely never use the timing features and would prefer the aesthetic to be better. Just my thoughts. Cheers
Another great review this is a nice piece ….reflecting on your title pricey…some of the core ali express brands are slowly starting to inch up price wise to the point where the justification to purchase is starting to disappear…
The chinese owner of escapement time just capitalizing on the hype of the FM back then, there is a new release by FM with the la joux-perret movement. If you want a cheap and affordable look a like of Patek this is the the best good looking watch and good name branding “escapement time” compared to other chinese brand. I have ET flieger automatic, cheap good movement compared to a laco with noisy miyota.
This is a perfect copy of the Furlan Marri. That goes for 3x retail on chrono24. So this is a super cheap alternative. Most of all, on wrist with a decent strap it looks like a real luxury watch. So it's amazing value, a Patek or Furlan Marri for $189. Bargain!
Chronograph killer for me is no running seconds hand, I like to see movement on my watch. Nice crisp and clean dial though, this definitely more of a dress chrono then a sporty chronograph great vid as always
Thanks mate and I agree, the lack of a running seconds really does bother me and make it look too static. I quite like this dressier style, its unusual.
VK64 has mechanical chrono reset. I believe in order to reset the large sweep hand and small minute counter to align to zero, you must physically remove the hand and reset it. If it's off alignment from factory, it can't be adjusted with the pushers like most quartz chronographs. Am I wrong?
Definitely a beautiful watch, for the strap I prefer a Nato. Pricing of Escapement time is a bit on the higher side too. Its a quartz- chrono after all! Excellent job with the review mate!
These are nice looking watches. I like homages of watches that haven't been homaged to death and the watch looks way more expensive than it is. These different coloured subdial hands are a bit odd, I agree about that.
Chronos sometimes have different coloured hands to differentiate the functions, blue hands are chronograph hands for timing, everything else polished ss.
To answer your blued hands query, the blued hands are a function thing, this is a two hand Chronograph I’m guessing in that the 24. Hour dial at three is an am/pm indicator. If so then the blued hands define the Chronograph function and the chromed 24 hour dial defines the time function. As for the price, I don’t think it’s too bad but I would be happier it were closer to $100 considering the movement can be bought brand new from parts suppliers for as little as ten bucks. But, having said that it’s a reliable and cheaply replaced movement housed in a pretty steel case and a nice strap I really don’t think it’s crazy pricing but for a no name brand I would wait for a used one to come up for sale and I bet that would be around fifty quid.
Thanks for the info and you're spot on, its done to easily spot the right one for timing. As for the price, it is steep for the spec, but hopefully its dropped some in the sales.
Nice looking watch. Gorgeous domed sapphire and vintage vibe. Dial is v good and handset is great. Nice engine too. Strap looks v comfy. Caseback is a bit plain. Overall, really nice. It's a £100 watch all day long
Pretty. The part that nixes this for me is the blemishes under the crystal on the right register. Kept trying to clean my screen watching your macro footage thinking I had gotten something on it, but it was in the video. If they sent that to a reviewer they knew would be showing it off, what would show up to me?
Yeah it is nice and I think that ET don't cherry pick their watches meaning everyone has a chance of getting what anyone else would. But not 100% sure on that to be fair.
It's a very good looking watch, I agree that a running seconds hand would have been better than a 24 hour dial here, but it's a good movement. All blue subdial hands might be better as you say, but maybe it's a good contrast to have a silver one. Normally I'd want 40mm but this design might be ok for bigger wrists. The one negative for me is that there's a lot of space between the strap and the watch case so a lot of wrist is visible. I think a strap that curves around a bit would look better or even a single pass Nato style to fill in those big gaps. Better would be to take a millimeter off the lug length. On price it's a bit high but far cheaper than the alternative!!
Thanks for watching mate and agreed, the movement is good if a little boring to look at on the dial. I personally would have preferred all blued or polished hands but that is just me and a different strap would deffo sort that strap gap.
$127 USD is a little on the high side, but it doesn't seem outrageous to me. It's not fair to knock Escapement Time because of taxes. In any event, it is less than a third of the price of the Furlan Marii that it is copying (which, of course, is a copy of the PP you pictured), and the Furlan Marii has the same mechaquartz movement. I think they should have made one with a Seagull ST-1901 and priced it in the $175-$200 range.
I see your point mate, I didn't factor in the Furlan which is a seriosuly overpriced watch itself and I wasn't really knocking ET as it isn't their fault but the taxes do make it a hard sell in some places. Cheers
Considering Furlan Marri charge about £500 for this exact same watch, and it goes for nearly twice that in the secondary market, I'd say it's a bit of a bargain. Every major watch maker on AliExpress is coming out with these too to capitalise on the Furlan's popularity, and at much higher price points, so the ET is good value in my opinion.
@@WesWatchRoom Even on the product picture on Ali you can see dirt spots on the right sub dial. I think it's QC error but maybe you can check again on your watch. Tbh i don't mind that much, you probably can't see it with the naked eye, it's just weird.

Agreed, it's a very nice watch but the added tax just spoils it a lot. Thanks
I think it is ok price. It looks amazing. And if you want Zeppelin with sapphire you would have to pay double this..
That is true mate, wish the tax wasn't so heavy though. Thanks
It’s a great looking design. I can see why there have been a number of homages of this one recently.
Thanks for the review
Agreed mate it is a real looker, bit pricey though.
ET is my favorite Chinese watch company. I don't care for the style of this one that much but I have his new dress watch on the way. Thanks for the excellent review!
I get that mate it's not for everyone, but they are a great brand for sure. Cheers. Have a good one

I was waiting for this review....thanks for getting it in! I wish this was 40mm!
No problems mate and 40mm would be nice but I think its still very wearable. Thanks
Another great review this is a nice piece ….reflecting on your title pricey…some of the core ali express brands are slowly starting to inch up price wise to the point where the justification to purchase is starting to disappear…
True that, their once legendary value is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Thanks for watching mate
What an absolute banger, love this vintage styling, major weakness of mine, great footage also, really shows the beauty of it.
Thank you mate, appreciate that and it is a great watch but that tax is a nightmare. Hope all is well.

So true, they're not the only ones that do it though. Agree on the name, its not the best from Aliexpress nor the worse. Thanks

I haven't really seen the Marri but this is certainly cheaper but still pushing it a fair but especially with the heavy tax in places. Cheers

Very elegant... Thanks for sharing bud!
It is mate and no probs, hope all is well. Cheers

Yeah I believe it can be reset by pulling out the crown and using the pushers, but not tested as of yet. Might be worth a google.
Definitely a beautiful watch, for the strap I prefer a Nato. Pricing of Escapement time is a bit on the higher side too. Its a quartz- chrono after all! Excellent job with the review mate!
Cheers mate and it is indeed a beaut, one of the best looking watches I've seen on ali for a long time.

Agree mate and yeah, I thought that too, bit weird but in some situations its barely noticeable. Appreciate you watching
Great review. I don't think you can realign the chronograph hand of a meca-quartz movement though.
Thanks and there are some that you can manually set, just doesn't work for them all. Cheers
Chronos sometimes have different coloured hands to differentiate the functions, blue hands are chronograph hands for timing, everything else polished ss.
Did not know that, thanks mate

Fair play mate, I think the asking price is good for what you get, but that UK tax destroys the value of it. Cheers

Nice looking watch, but I completely agree the 24 hour subdial is pointless. Well done for warning about the UK tax 👍
Agree mate, needs that small seconds and the UK tax is a real killer for this one. Thanks
Hi Wes, your right. UK VAT tax is a watch killer.
Too right mate, one of the worse I've seen. Thanks
Nice watch. AliX prices have been on the rise especially with tax now:/
Tell me about it, kinda kills their value somewhat. Thanks mate

If you look at it like that, then I suppose yeah. I didn't factor in the Furlan so that is why I reviewed as is. Cheers
Nice watch !
It really is mate, just a shame about that tax hit.
This is a nice one
It really is, thanks
👍
Cheers mate
but why is the right side subdial dirty?
Could be some dirt I missed on the crystal maybe?
@@WesWatchRoom Even on the product picture on Ali you can see dirt spots on the right sub dial. I think it's QC error but maybe you can check again on your watch.
Tbh i don't mind that much, you probably can't see it with the naked eye, it's just weird.
Yeah it’s pretty expensive
It is yeah, shame because its so nice. Cheers
Yes no yes no..... yes no yes no?
140 for a knock off ? nah
I wouldn't call it a knock off as it takes influence from more than one watch. But it is still pricey
