- The 2024 Mazda CX-90 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) is a special vehicle because of the performance of the new powertrain and the luxury of all the features. This is the standard PHEV, the Preferred. It has many of the expected features such as leather seating, heated seats, and power moonroof. It also has some of the CX-90 upgrades, such as large multi information display, MI-drive modes, versatile passenger and cargo arrangements, and the CX-90 style and drive.
Mazda's new PHEV powertrain provides 56 MPGe with 26 miles of pure electric vehicle driving. The horsepower on the SkyActiv-G 4 cylinder and electric motor combination is 323 HP and the torque of 369 lb-ft match the Turbo S inline six cylinder.

As usual, Mazda makes a great looking vehicle. My fingers are still crossed hoping the CX70 is smaller.
The towing capacity is lower on PHEV vs MHEV (inline 6) - 3500 vs 5000 lbs respectively. Also while the torque is comparable to Turbo S, once the battery depletes (likely in long distance towing setting) you are left with lesser torque from the ICE engine only.
Plug-in works for light towing / bike racks fine, but towing an RV Trailer is better left to Inline 6 versions.
