I was born in 1964 in Michigan. I have lived my life listening to the greatest music ever made. The Neville Brothers are a very important ingredient of this experience. Thankyou for entertaining me.
Incredible dudes with an incredible LIVING legacy still growing and thriving down here in New Orleans. The Neville Nation runs deep. RIP Papa Funk and Charles, who was quite possibly one of the kindest gentlest, Zen-nest souls I ever had the pleasure of meeting. One Love.
Been listening, and playing their stuff, sooo long. If you don't feel this groove you better check for your pulse !!!! THEY DESERVE WAY MORE RECOGNITION!!!!
I can't think of an adjective good enough to explain these guys. They are the sound. They take you all over New Orleans...to church and back.Just so tight.
That's the thing - four brothers, so different, yet they were able to mesh those differences into a uniique sound, to become the best band anyone ever heard. XXOO
Oh praise the lord these gentlemen have blessed us with ultimate class talent and the easy flow of their genius! The brothers are perfect. Loved this, thanks very much!
R.I.L. bruva art neville.....from da beautiful people of aotearoa nz...pleasure to meet u in melbourne australia 1993/94.....moe moe ra e hoa.....god bless
My heart hurts for your loss! RIP Professor Charles Neville Thank you for the wonderful times that you gave us at JazzFest! We’ll miss your saxophone but we’ll never forget your sound.
I grew up listening to the Meters...everyone was amazed at my drum licks...being from the caribbean i was told i was too funky...love these guys...they influenced me
RIP Pappa Funk. “Thanks for the joy that you've given me I want you to know I believe in your song Rhythm and rhyme and harmony You help me along makin' me strong.”
Isn't this music exceptionally good, I had the pleasure of seeing the Nevilles live three times here in Ottawa, Canada when they were touring. Terrific memories of each of these - especially one outdoors at a Jazz Festival on a summer night. The whole crowd just had this atmosphere of peace and love (don't usually get that at concerts!)
This concert was absolutely superb.the neville brothers performed almighty. They are ace and rule mega. Aaron for me is. My man.yoooooo...... .as a band they are untouchable.....even today. Glorious times watching these fantabulous concerts. Fabulous, talented family. God bless you all. Always. Julie. U.k. Xxxx
Lawd... Tchoupitoulas St.... Oak St... of course, Jazzfest♥️... Lil sister Charmaine... it just does not get better than the Neville Family. So totally underrated by mainstream media. Anyone one of them out shines the best that the music industry is now calling “talent”. Yep, I am old and from New Orleans. I lived long enough to have seen the best.
I have been lucky enough to see the Neville Brothers many times over the years. Never missed a chance. Some were really small venue....just the best. The last time I got to speak with Cyril and Aaron, ( omg the man is like a mighty oak tree, an intimidating presence to be sure). Cyril just a sweetheart.....sigh. It breaks my heart to realize I will never see them again......thank goodness for youtube videos like this one. RIP......Art, Charles and I can't leave out Dr. John. Sad year for New Orleans music and their families.
I will never forget these moments when I listened to this music they are amazing and I will never ever forget them forever and they are so underrated it’s insane I love the Neville Brothers music I listen every day and I thank them for their music Barbara 37:43
Thank you our great people who invented recording equipment, with out what you did for us, we would not be able to listen to our great entertainment. Again thank you
great concert from amazing band the classic neville brothers, live 31st october 1991 in new orleans, i love their doo wop music and the gospel stuff they do, you can tell they put a lot of care in their music. love their harmonys too. huge fan.
This was a special night with the Nevilles. We had just lost a great friend, Bill Graham and two other special people with him in a tragic accident days before. This gig was one of the last Bill Graham Presents shows booked during his life. At the same time The Grateful Dead were playing out the emotional weight in Oakland California. Both bands loved& owed him a great debt of gratitude and they showed it this night without question!
MAY OUR HEAVENLY FATHER CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU ALL AS YOU CONTINUE TO BLESS US ALL WITH YOUR GOD GIVEN TALENT !!! YOU HAVE TRULY TOUCHED THE HEARTS AND SOULS OF MANY , MANY PEOPLE AND GOD'S CHILDREN !!! WE THANK THE LORD AND YOU FOR SHARING YOUR MUSIC AND MESSAGES OF FAITH AND LOVE !!! LOVE AND RESPECT FROM FLORIDA !!!
Awesome tunes for a fine Fat Tuesday! Thank you gentleman! This is amazing performance that takes me back to the days! Much love and blessing your way!
Saw the Mighty Mighty Neville Brothers at Bogarts in Cincinnati , probably wirhin a month of this Concert. There was people in the crowd that had heard OF the Neville Brothers but had no clue as to their sound. Like he said, Radio has always been the problem. I had all the CDs, and I still have a hard time describing them . What a Band! What a Night!
Art you were the best of New Orleans music. Best at an intimate venue....Tipintina's. Or worldwide. R.I.P. forever. You and your talented family's music will never be forgotten. Funk forever!!
OMG I DON'T KNOW HOW BECAUSE I WASN'T LOOKING BUT I AM SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE FOUND YA'LL. YOU GUYS ARE NOLA ROYALTY 👑 ✨️ LOVE YA'LL SO MUCH!!!! COME TO ASHEVILLE, NC THERE'S SO MANY VENUES YA'LL WOULD SELL OUT !!!!!💜✌️🙏🏻
Uspomene. Broth., "Live on the planet earth". Kupio sam CD i slušao ga narednih godinu dana. O dobra i teška vremena, i blagslovljena Susanne Hirschmann, moja saputnica tog vremena. Kao da je sve bilo u nekom snu ili nekom drugom životu. Udaljio sam se od svoga nekadašnjeg. Živim u zidovima i okružen grubim ljudima i teškim vremenom. Na kraju, slava gospodu. Idem da nađem Amazing Grace u izvođenju blagoslovljenog glasa brata Arona Nevilla. Živio New Orleans, Kogo Square.....the place where the American music was born. Aleluja
Thank you for this healing moment… Everyone needs to listen to this now especially. Thank you for helping me while I dance to cooking dinner on Christmas Eve. Peace and love to you guys. Much love.
They ARE the Gumbeaux, making me sooo homesick! They may not get the radio time elsewhere, but they get it at home, & nothing brings me home faster than the music of NOLA!
I saw these guys rock Philly on July 4th, 1985 Independence Day concert. I thought they absolutely blew away every other act, that day. I had never heard of them and went out and bought the first album of theirs I could find which was 1981 "Fiyo on the Bayou". That album was a huge disappointment at the time. It IS a nearly flawless recording but rather sterile compared to their live performance. 35 years later, I appreciate the studio effort more but I think these guys still are much better enjoyed in a live setting. LOVE this! Thanks for posting!
They called me the "pock" in the 60's&70's after the pocket rocket janre richard, a Montreal Canadian.. pockey Way is me, "little bitty boy, with a heart of steal" I was an ice hockey player called pockey!!! Let's all keep kicking some ass!! The Neville brothers are unbeatable...
Try to stay still when you listen to this powerhouse. The energy from one of their concerts could satisfy the public lighting needs of New Orleans for seven days.
One of the best family group..the vocals and the harmonies the chemistry between the Brothers and the rest of the band ...in the pocket..Aaron's voice heavenly....Nevile Brothers up there with my other favourites like EWF,Commodores, Maze &Frankie Beverly,Santana,Mandrill..etc....FUNK4EVER

I wonder why they never made it huge like the temps, ojays etc. Art and Cyril def had the pipes to do it.
