    Digging back to 2014, Pigman has an opportunity to help a local village deal with a nuisance lion problem in Africa as he pursues a male Lion with his bow.
    Trophy hunting plays a vital and irreplaceable role in not only land management but also wildlife conservation. The millions of dollars that hunters bring to these African nations offer powerful incentives to both governments and private land holders to preserve land for wildlife. Properly incentivized by the cash injections brought by hunters every year, local populations are more proactive about managing real threats to wild life such as indiscriminate poaching and agricultural land development.
    For example, several African species’ conservation status have been improved by hunting programs. A report by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) shows:
    ☻ Black rhino recovered from approximately 1,000 in the 1890s to more than 3,500 today;
    ☻ Cape buffalo herds were decimated in the early 1900s. There are more than 1 million today;
    ☻ White rhino population was less than 100 in 1895. There are between 19,600 and 21,000 white rhinos in existence today;
    ☻ Bontebok population was 126 in 1925. The population is over 8,000 today.
    WITHOUT conservation hunting, these African nations will undoubtedly see human-wildlife conflict increase, a rapid loss of animal habitat to human activities, and an irreplaceable loss of economic support for the local communities. If hunting is declining, efforts should be made to improve or revitalize hunting so that additional conservation successes can be achieved.-- Paul Babaz, SCI President

      @@gauloiscalifornien Did you know that hunting in Africa puts more money in the local economies than photography trips do?
      The picture takers pay the travel agent in the originating country & don't spend half the money that hunters do paying the the guides, lodge staff,trackers, transporting the animal,processing the meat & transporting the meat for distribution to the locals who aren't allowed to hunt.

      How do you suppose they pay for the protection of the endangered species? Got an extra 100 mil to donate each year? Because that's how much hunters pay every year to hunt in Africa. Without which all of the trackers you see would be the poachers you don't. Remember poachers font follow bag limmits.

Lion hunting in RSA is very controversial since all the lions hunted there are pen raised. Is it legal? Yes. Is it ethical? Not to me.

      Canned lion lol...that's the funniest explanation of a hunt that I've ever heard. If its true,than yes, it is not the most ethical hunt. If I'm to hunt anything,I would prefer to hunt something that isn't kept in a pen like a domesticated pet and eventually let out to be hunted. An animal that's been domesticated loses it's heightened sense of threat,sense of survival,thus making this hunt,not really a hunt!! Personally,I wouldn't feel proud of this type of hunting,but that's just me.

    For all those fucking crying babyes that accept a deer getting an arrow to the chest but are like “OMG, why a Lion?!” , first of all, it’s meat, and most of the time that meat goes for the ones that need it, like village people. Second, the conservation game played there is WAY BIGGER than this one animal. The money spent in a hunt like that will supply the farm with many things that they need to keep all the other animals safe and wealth. Guns and ammo for anti-poachers armyes, gas for patrol vehicules and so on... many animals in África are farmed, and a farmer can make good money with them. That ensures that they will never desapear. Ever seem any cow In danger of extintion ? If it wasn’t for the trophy hunting, africa would long time turned into a huge cattle ranch or cornfield. First thing to have good animals is to have good enviroment.

      Live stock in rural Africa is more valuable then some crops. Say the lion has killed a few cattle. Then what, some villages use them like currency. Or the fact it could have hurt people, or roaming to close to a village. Only a matter of time before a person is killed or a child to make matters worse.

      Eric Saunders that’s funny look it up I just went to a hunt auction event last November that sold every animal and multiple of them. This lion was raised in a cage with 20 others and this guy bought this exact lion in an auction or told them what he wanted and they turned it out and ran it down. Or that’s right they just happened apon the perfect scenario a huge adult lion with no pride that’s been living great all alone as a rogue that makes more sense. I’m a hunter I’m not saying I’m against it but I hate these guys acting like this hunt was super hard and they just happened to find this great lion after days of scouting

    Why people get so fucking triggered? You don’t like it don’t click. Here’s the thing, these places are 3rd world countries, governments can barely take care of people let alone the animals inhabiting their lands. Whether it’s lack of resources or rampant corruption, animals are last on the agenda. And for what it’s worth, the endangered animals ARE NOT on the list of regulated legal hunts. And even the animals that are, you can’t just shoot any animals there are strict restrictions like females can be shot very limited time of the year, the males have to be old bulls (kudu, wildebeest, Cape buffalo etc) lions have to be old males (distinguished by sagging lips, the mane etc) .. the money from these expensive safari game reserve hunts (hopefully this is the corruption part) majority of it goes towards the people. Also THIS IS LAND MANAGEMENT, alternative is illegal poaching! Which is way worse just look at the rhinos.. this is HUMANE regulated land management. Great hunt!
