Hello, I recently bought the V2 of these Lilly Pipes, I'm wating until the Dark SM ends and put it. I'm quite surprised that they did this new invention. 13:22. Really nice cats there ;)
Since you have a canister filter anyway, whats the advantage of having the diffuser on the neo output vs an inline diffuser? Also, regarding your drop checker, is it better to place lower (as you did) or higher? Why?
I think the main advantage of the neo diffuser vs a regular inline diffuser is just less change of leaking. With the inline diffuser you have to make 2 cuts in your outflow hose, and those connections can always start leaking. For the drop checker I think it doesn't matter so much if it's higher or lower
I've been using the original one for a while now myself. Over time the clarity of the pipes has faded and become more milky. Have you had a similar issue, and if so, do you know of a solution to prevent it? Thanks for your videos!

Please on your next experiment tanks do a tank coverd with gladrap (to reduce oxygen exchange) vs a no co2 I am curious if it will perform better as there is more co2 between water and the gladrap creating a kind of a co2 reactor tipe thing
Never broke glass pipes but I'm switching my glass dymax lily pipes to neos in my 21 gallon (quite shallow) long, Im running an oase biomaster thermo 350 and the only glass lily pipes that fit it have an inflow pipe that is much too long for my tank. I like that neos can be cut to size.

Great video an very usefull info. is there an (online) shop in NL of BE where they have the Neo Mixer? Am planning to buy the Neo Flow, that one I can find online. But the mixer isn't available yet?
I'm getting ready to set up old 55gallon tanks that had HOB filters in the 90s. Really liking the aesthetics of something like this with a canister filter, but then I hear bad things about them?
Great video MJ. I bought the aquatio products after seeing your last video and am very satisfied with them. I don’t really have a problem with the skimmer - it seems to work but I also have a lot of floating plants so I don’t see a film ever.
That film is a "bio-film", or basically huge bacteria colonies.... And having a still surface is bad in general, the surface is basically the only way in for oxygen, and out for co2.. So by constantly recirculate the surface you actually increase the effective surface area of your aquarium. Circulating the surface is the most important, and then getting that mixed into the rest of the aquarium...So filter returns that spreads as much all over the surface is the best....
Was trying to buy this product and now stuck with lot of confusion!! I have a SunSun 304B canister, and I am not sure which size should I go for, only option I am getting on Amazon is size- M/L... can any one please help me
I always have the colors of WRGB2 on the same % and my plants grow like crazy! With the WRGB2 Pro it's a bit different though Red 46% Green 80% Blue 64% and White 53%
I'm not using them anymore. The plastic scratches easily, and after a while they just don't look very nice anymore... I'm going back to glass lily pipes
Thanks voor de video MJ, ik ben nu team lily pipe maar ben zeer te spreken over de inline diffusor! Minder hardware in beeld op deze manier! Bestelling is geplaatst en laten we eens kijken wat het doet!
I have the version 1 and when I bought it I pushed the skimmer pipe attachment too far in and it killed my pump. Just before I killed another one I noticed what the problem was. It’s like putting your finger in front of the outflow, my pump makes the same sound in the two occasions. I still use it but it’s skimming nothing because the pipe attachment is further up now.
Hey brother, love all of the videos that you have been cranking out I have a question for you. What kind of heater do you use on your setups? I have a 60 gallon that I plan do one of your Dutch stylists. You’ve really inspired me over the years. Also what size tank for my co2 should I get and what settings do you recommend?
Hey Anthony! I have the heaters inside the filters (Oase Biomaster & Filtosmart Thermo) and on the small tanks I use a dennerle nano heater. For a 60 gallon I would get a 2kg CO2 cylinder.
I run these on my scapes, not had chance to try the inline Co2 yet as I currently use Co2 art inline diffusers. The version 2 skimmer is miles better and I’m no longer having to constantly fiddle, adjusting the skimmer neck. Still not a fan of having the skimmer on the outflow as I have to manually remove old leaf matter which is a pain but this skimmer deals with biofilm break up well. The clamps look a million times stronger and I’ve also broke a couple of mark 1 clamps by over tightening. Word of warning, don’t put these pipes or any parts in hot water to clean them 🤣🤣🤣 I did and I’ve melted the shrimp guard and skimmer pipe, it even made the pipes bend like a banana 🤣🤣🤣.
Will the new Ver. 2 skimmer fit the Ver. 1 Neo Flow Premium? Since the outflow pipe is a bit shorter. Wondering if I should get the entire Ver. 2 set or just the separated parts that I'm missing.
@@chaidiamonds The version 1 and 2 pipes are the same diameter depending on your own choice of either 12/16 M or 16/22 L, so when you buy the V2 skimmer it comes with a new elbow onwards etc. Go check out Horizon Aquatics shop and search ‘Aqua rio skimmer’
@Slinkyscapes Yeah, but I've noticed the main outflow tube is shorter on the V1. Is this still going to work with the longer skimmer? Need to go deeper in the clamps.
@@chaidiamonds depends if you’ve cut your pipes down, if not you can just reverse them or if you have then you’ll need new ones, I didn’t buy new ones and just placed the V2 skimmer on my V1 pipes. Keep in mind the deeper you go with the outflow nozzel the less surface movement you get, less movement, less gas exchange. This is why I just don’t like the skimmer on the outflow, if it’s on the inflow you get rid of bio film AND debris, as well as the skimmer is set once set up, the outflow can be altered and twisted and turned without worry of a finicky skimmer.
I ordered also this Ver.2, having now for 2 months. But still struggling a lot with the skimmer. sometimes its working for days, but then its just sliding down...

Now the question, does it matter if you put in and outflow on the same side or in on lets say left and out on the right side of the aquarium ? Because the rio 180 doesn't have enough space to put both on the same side (I guess)
Hey Robin! Ik vind het zelf wel beter als de in en de outflow aan dezelfde kant zitten, naar mijn idee krijg je dan een betere stroming, maar het is geen vereiste. Ik ben ook geen fan van een spraybar eerlijk gezegd 😁

I'm getting ready to set up old 55gallon tanks that had HOB filters in the 90s. Really liking the aesthetics of something like this with a canister filter, but then I hear bad things about them?
BIG shallow has changed BIG time 👍
Great video MJ.
I prefer inox pipe and for Co2 I prefer inox too ^^ (chihiros for me )
Good to be able to hide the diffuser.👍
I need this for my new setup
Was trying to buy this product and now stuck with lot of confusion!! I have a SunSun 304B canister, and I am not sure which size should I go for, only option I am getting on Amazon is size- M/L... can any one please help me
You will definitely need size L, but it might not fit straight out of the box. I think size L is 17mm and the sunsun tubing is 19mm
@MJ Aquascaping exactly!! BTW love from India bro
please tell me which one is the best settings of wrgb2 for the best grow plant?❤️
I always have the colors of WRGB2 on the same % and my plants grow like crazy! With the WRGB2 Pro it's a bit different though Red 46% Green 80% Blue 64% and White 53%
@@MJAquascaping on wrgb2 all colors 100%?❤️ my settings now is Red 90% Blue 85% Green 35% its normal?
@@MJAquascaping how about the settings for tank with red plants and wrgb2 slim version above? Thanks
Hey MJ, do you still use this set? Reading some bad and positive comments about it. What would you advise a year later?
I'm not using them anymore. The plastic scratches easily, and after a while they just don't look very nice anymore... I'm going back to glass lily pipes
@@MJAquascaping thank you :) I’ll be going with glass as well than, what brand would you advice?
@@MJAquascaping do they go foggy?
Hoi,
Waar kan ik de 2e versie bestellen?
Op de website van Green Aqua!
On the surface, its actually a biofilm of bacteria. People frequently mistake this for oil, but if you can break it into pieces, its not oil.
What happens to the waste the skimmer picks up?
Just get's blown into the tank
Hmm that's strange.. so you think it's too much resistance for your filter? Which filter do you have btw?
Yes definetly, I have a sunsun filter and the one that almost broke has been running for almost half a year now with no noise.
HI MJ, where did you got the Neo Mixer ? Did you order it directly from Aquario or you found a store somewhere in Europe?
Hey! It was a gift from Aquario, I don't think it's for sale anywhere just yet, but keep an eye on the Green Aqua website!
@@MJAquascaping Thanks man!
Good filter pipes 👍🏻
😂😂
Did you know that in Poland they sell a supposedly new version but poorer with some elements that you have?
Really? Got a link?
I ordered also this Ver.2, having now for 2 months. But still struggling a lot with the skimmer. sometimes its working for days, but then its just sliding down...
Hi! How do you feel about this set now?
Aquario should give you a comission. Due to this video I just bought a set for my tank. xD
Nice video! Reageer je ook in NL? If not, hi haha. I have an juwel rio 180 with an oase biomaster thermo 350. Currently I'm using the spraybar along the whole back of the aquarium and have my return on the opposite side of the spraybar Inlet. I don't get much of an flow though out the aquarium so I'm looking for an other in/outflow and I'm very interested in this product.
Now the question, does it matter if you put in and outflow on the same side or in on lets say left and out on the right side of the aquarium ? Because the rio 180 doesn't have enough space to put both on the same side (I guess)
Hey Robin!
