    Beautiful scapes. I guess with such amazing scapes your fish likely have no reason to leave their amazing tanks, but how do you stop fish jumping out the tanks without top covers? Or are the fish species used in rimless open top tanks less prone to jump out the water? Which fish species are less likely to jump? Thx.

    • @kingkazz904

      fish species is important. nano fish aren't really known to jump out. Shrimp occasional will jump out due too water parameters being off

    Thanks. this confirms what just seems to be logical to me. I have a hang on back filter on a 20 gallon tank. and it just seemed to make better sense to put the filter on the side. so the water circulates the whole tank lengthwise. plus that way it simulates the natural flow like a stream. my fish love it. I was looking for ideas of where to place my in-tank diffuser for the pressurized co2 system I'll be installing soon .. thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    • @patricklaundra3286
      @patricklaundra3286 Год назад

      @@kkiiization I'm not absolutely certain. I don't have my CO2 system yet. But by watching debris in my aquarium. I can see the way the water circulates. And it does seem logical to put the CO2 diffuser, low on the opposite side. It seems that way the bubbles will circulate across the bottom of the tank as they rise.

    How do I place the lily pipes in a UNS 40c with a central hardscape? I am using a UNS stand with Fluval 207 canister filter. The stand is low in the back opening which i think would kink the tubing unless I use some sort of spiral to put around the house much like a garden hose anti-kink attachment.

I have 2x fluval 307 filters but Iam so sick of cleaning the glass lily pipes and transparent hoses from the massive algae build up, servicing 2 filters every month, etc. Is there a benefit to having two canisters in my 120cm planted tank? Or I can stick with one?

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  4 дня назад

      For smaller aquariums under 45cm in width, the spin is a great option. It will not harm the CO2 distribution, but you may need to increase the injection rate a bit.

  • @martincregg

    I need to do a CFD simulation to test out what you’re saying. If you position the the inlet and the outlet on different sides of the tank that has to create circulation. Sure, the water flows from from one side to the other but the water that moves has to be replaced and this creates circulation.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  2 года назад

      It does, this is not only theory though, both placements have been tested by many in many tanks...

  • @willparsons32
    @willparsons32 9 месяцев назад

    What if you have a bowfront aquarium? The spray bar that I have is positioned on the back glass panel facing slightly upwards and is aprox. 3/4 the length of the tank. As I hear you say; the spray bar should only be about an inch (2.5 cm) from the surface of the water column. Because the filter is a 1300 Lph (850 gph) the stream of water that comes from the spray bar is quite intense. Would you suggest I drill out the pre-drilled holes to a larger size? Perhaps twice the size as they originally were, or bigger?
    Would I be better off attaching the spray bar at the end like you suggested? -- keeping in mind that the tank is a bowfront and therefore not square to the spray bar.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  9 месяцев назад

      I would place the spray bar on the side of the tank if I could. It provides a more uniform flow. And yes, I would probably drill bigger holes to have less jet-like flow. The surface should move but not break. Ultimately though, I would move to change it to a lily pipe for more uniform water distribution.

    Hello I need your advice before i set up the aquario neo flow premium lilypipes v2 M on my 60p. I'll first mention my current setup and why i want to change to neo flow lilly pipes. I also want to ask a question or two. I have a lid on my bedroom aquarium, because i have fish in with my shrimp. One of the fish are jumpers- clown killifish. So the manufacture cut outs for lliypipes, heater cord are at the back. ● My setup: ehiem classic 250 canister filter. with spray bar on left of tank. So water moves from left to right( like river) to heater. Inlet on back next to outlet. I use co2 art inline diffuser. so pressurised co2 comes out spray bar. So i have a med/high light planted tank. Why i want to change: A few months ago i messeged the late aqua scaper Filipe Oliveira ( RIP) Asked him how he gets his plants so red. I mentioned my setup, and he adviced me to get lilly pipes. He said using the spraybar with inline co2 is no good because spraybar creates a verticle rotation. I thought the opposite ( horizontal rotation) But he is the master... so that's why i purchased lilly pipes. ● Here are my questions: ●Q1 on the aquario website, they refer to the attachnent on the end of outflow as a "shoe" about shoe- ■won't shrimp climb in there? cause i have shrimp crawl all over spraybar. So i purchased reliever with guards. ● I would like to use shoe or take off one of guards to direct flow, because i imagine reliever with guards would restrict flow, and not reach heater, plant ect. ●Q2 Because of lid i can't hookup lilly pipes on left of tank ( like you demonstrated in video) so only on back where manufacture cut outs are. ■So how can I hook up my lilly pipes to still get the left- right horizontal flow? ●Q3 ■What's the difference between shoe and reliever besides guard attachment? Sorry for long message. Hope to here from you. Thanks for the video. We lost a great person in the aquascape hobby.

      I think you should use air stone after the CO2 is done working

    Perhaps you could go a bit into detail about diffuser placement; in regards to the correlation there seem to be with BBA and its tendencies to thrive on hardscape in areas with high flow and co2 mist. I believe ADA raises their diffusers or sometime keeps them at the same side as the outflow for this reason.

      Interesting. Where did you see that? BBA is probably the last resisting algae once you master the basics.

      Yeah, ADA raises them a bit, but we did not see a correlation between the appearance of BBA and diffuser placement.

    Thanks for the great content as usual! Can you explain why having the diffuser underneath the inflow isn't just as good? I imagine it would push the bubbles all over just as well, but I haven't seen it done. My tank (regrettably) is a fluval edge with very limited options for placement!

      Probably because there would be a lot of agitation going through the filter and a good part of the CO2 would be lost instead of being in the tank before it goes through the filter and is used by the plants while the concentration of it is still high. Just a guess, maybe he’ll answer it.

    Hi, with the setup that you have already in that video what's the best position for the skimmer (eheim)? Thank you.

      It does not really matter. Put it where it is less obstructive.

    Would you suggest installing a wave maker in a 109liter planted aquarium? Such as AI Orbit 2 or Nero 3?

      Never used them, but we're not using wave makers in general

    Can I use fan during co2 is on which cause high surface agitation. Is that minimize the efficiency of co2 itself

    • @GreenAquaShop

      Sure you can use it, but may need to up the CO2 a bit

    What is your advice? Lilypipe or spraybar? Great video very helpful

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks! I would go for the lily pipe. The spraybars can cause friction because of the water jets and can draw out CO2 from the water (even if you don't have CO2 injection).

    from the beginning, it has been viewed from the beginning on the longitudinal side and there is a dense nomenclature - it is in a semicircular shape
    maximum 55liter, you can level the shorter side to look at?
