      That isn't a lily pipe XD. There ARE mini lily pipes. But that is a violet pipe. There are large ones too. They are designed for a lot more forceful flow than lily pipes. NOT good for mollies, guppies etc. More for Tetras, Rasboras etc. You get the idea... It is also geared towards Iwagumi scapes for more flow on the bottom of your tank. Hence the downward facing lip that is ONLY present on violet pipes.

I'm not entirely sure if it's the violet pipe (aka mini lily pipe) as different companies look slightly different than the one in your video. :)

    • @BrooklynHardscape
      @BrooklynHardscape  5 лет назад +1

      @@rdrdghd The violet pipe I believe is the flatter lily shaped pipe. Any true lily pipe will give you the vortex. You just need two position it correctly.

    I've started using a spin pipe for the first time a few days ago and now I'm wondering about the intake. In my tank, the outflow sits in the front left corner while the intake's in the back right corner.
    Would it be better for the intake to be in the back left corner because of how the flow works with such a special pipe?

    • @BrooklynHardscape
      @BrooklynHardscape  3 года назад

      I have found it’s good to keep the two separate. Depending on the scape, experience has shown me to have the spin pipe’s flow hitting the largest mass of plants. It further diffuses the flow and keeps detritus from building up on leaves. The inflow should be in the most open area as possible. Feel free to email us with a picture of your scape for more help.

    • @BrooklynHardscape
      @BrooklynHardscape  3 года назад

      Depends on what you’re looking for. For my 45P for my betta, I started out with a poppy pipe and than switched to a spin pipe. The same tank I used a normal lily for cory’s and a mini for green neons. 9instagram.com/p/B8ZW85rlpcP/?igshid=1b1tt8uozkj2a)

    • @paulardei7033
      @paulardei7033 3 года назад

      @@BrooklynHardscape i was thinking that maybe the spine pipes keeps the bubbles of co2 more time underwater. The other ones pushes them out faster..

    • @BrooklynHardscape
      @BrooklynHardscape  3 года назад

      Ideally the bubbles from the reactor are excess CO2 that could not be dissolved. Which is the difference between an inline diffuser and a reactor. Spin pipes are good for shorter tanks, while a lily pipe pushes water further making Brownian Motion happen faster in longer tanks. In other words, aquarium size relates to pipe type.

    Or you could just hang your canister filter's outflow on an appropriately sized Aquaclear HOB rather than using its impeller pump. The Spillway of the HOB is Engineered to give Proper Surface agitation and Oxygenation of the Water Column. - Just hanging a Canister's outflow on the tank? Where's the Oxygenation (after the canister has depleted the Oxygen levels ?)

    That isn't a mini lily pipe XD. There ARE mini lily pipes. But that is a violet pipe. And there are large ones too. 101% unmistakable shape and flow. Violets also cause the vortex if close to the surface. If you bought it under lily pipes, I applaud the seller. They are designed for a lot more forceful flow than lily pipes. NOT good for mollies, guppies etc. More for Tetras, Rasboras etc. You get the idea... It is also geared towards Iwagumi scapes for more flow on the bottom of your tank. @BrooklynHardscape  2 года назад +2

      *sigh*
      Dear Mary Contrary
      You’re 101% wrong. There’s no downward tilt to the pipe, the outflow is at 90*.
      A violet outflow is thin, and oval, while this is round.
      If you have issues, I’m sure the designers and sellers of the pipes I used, (Cal Aqua, Aquasabi), would love to hear from you and your input, and change their misleading ways after a decade+ of selling these products. Thank you for your insightful and well researched comment.
