I do something similar using a GoPro in 4:3 mode then crop to 16:9 horizontal and 9:16 vertical without having to reshoot our vertical content. Great tip!!
i needed this so much. i want to break into youtube, but also film for social media. i don’t have money to buy something like the lumix, but will still try to adapt these tips to my iphone 13 pro max. thank you so much for sharing!!
Thank you for this video Des! I’ve learned a lot from your content. I’ve been working on my first RUclips video using some of the things I’ve learned from you. & I really love how you color grade your videos!
I love your tutorials, and this is one I can apply immediately! I've had my Lumix camera for over 2 years and didn’t know these tips and set up until now. Thanks for sharing so many great tutorials. 😘💓
thank you for the tips :) I'm a product reviewer and I was struggling to post on YT Shorts, based on your video and from others who I research, I found out that my Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 8K video... so, same as the open gate (6K) concept, I start filming product reviews on my Phone with 8K with mind to keep everything important on the middle (of the 3 grids) and then crop the video for vertical format platform! It working great for me :)
Thank you, that was great!! I’m going to Los Angeles and San Francisco with my friend soon and can’t wait to try out filming like that! Also, I really enjoy the way you’re explaining everything! ✨
Who ever they hired at Panasonic to do their marketing is killing it. I was ready to buy the black magic 6K and I made my decision for the lumix, price, open gate, auto focus, ibis. I think I’m gonna stick with this one.

Bout to throw out all my gear and switch to Lumix 😂😂 Open Gate is where it’s at for us hybrid shooters! 📷

Excellent tutorial thank you 👌, and a very well timed release! We shoot on the Lumix S1H & GH5 so will have to workaround this with frame guides.

So excited for you! ✨
I just got through the intro and immediately subbed’d. Nice work! 🙌🏽
This is so smart. I know my Nikon doesn't have Open Gate but I'm going to check to see if my Cinema camera has it.
Great points and example footage. Made my decision for this evenings shoot. 6k on my GH5. Thanks
This is just what I needed to watch
Hello can you show how you position your camera please 🙏
Congrats!! Can’t wait to tap into the one on one offering you’re putting together. ❤
this was so needed! thank you!!
Hi just asking which supermarket is this where you shot this video?
Do you recommend the go pros full frame 8:7 feature? I have a dslr and I find that I can never get the shot framed right 😢

I am exactly the same. Almost pulled the trigger on the FF 6K and then realised the lumix is better for stills and has autofocus 🎉
If I wanted to get the “open gate” aspect ratio in davinci but I shot it on a normal 4K 16:9 camera, what would I set my project file to?
Absolutely brilliant 🙌🏾
Obrigada 😊
Good content
I’m digging it!
Find out more about that time
круто даже очень
It’s so hard trying to figure out how to not film it twice 😭😭😭
