When I was young and first started wearing perfume, I would spray a spritz into the air and walk into it. Learned that trick from some movie star but I can't remember who. 💗
I always look forward to these vintage glam videos ❤ a vintage tip from the 90s was Kate Moss revealing she used Egyptian Magic ointment for her face. This was "pre slugging" and was a game changer. Im 40 now and attribute this as a great part of my skincare routine, in addition to daily sunscreen.
I just remembered another tip. My grandmother was born in London England 1906. Her recipe for brightening teeth was mixing baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Women starting smoking with abandon in the 1920's. The nicotine would stain the teeth, this early form of teeth bleaching became a standard.
When I was growing up we always used Witch Hazel and I believe it did help. I have used virgin coconut oil on my face and neck at night. I used to use it all the time and need to get back to it. It is supposed to help smooth wrinkles. Love seeing the old Hollywood images & clips :)
I have done cucumbers on the eyes, olive oil on the face, ponds is a staple for me and when I was young I used toothpaste on my breakouts. Grape seed oil does great on skin as well and has a lighter texture. I mix pure aloe gel and grape seed oil for a mask before special events. It gives a great glow to the skin!!!!
❤ my Elizabeth lipstick! Finally i found a red lipstick I can wear. All others looked orange or bright red and i looked like a clown! This one gives me a beautiful flattering glow! Thanks so much
I have never spent money on lip scrubs, I use a combination of olive oil and sugar to remove any dry chapped skin, and it works wonders! Egg and even mayonnaise as a hair treatment has been around for a long time, and because eggs are high in protein, they're great for damaged or brittle hair. Washing your hair with beer is great for oily hair that tends to fall flat. A beer wash will add tons of volume! My mom uses olive oil on her face, and the use of olive oil as a moisturizer is common among Portuguese women in particular, and I think that's why they stay looking young well into old age. Castor oil is great rubbed into the scalp as a treatment for thin or thinning hair and after just a few months your hair will appear much thicker and fuller. It's great as a treatment on thin or sparse eyebrows and eyelashes too!
A nightly bath with olive oil as the bath is my go-to in the winter time. Every night before bed, you can even add a few drops of your favorite fragrance in it.
Castor oil has multiple uses. You can use on eyelashes, eyebrows, under your eyes and navel oiling helps your whole body. Use good castor oil, cold pressed and either from a glass bottle or food grade plastic.
Love your chanel! Its one of my favorites. Two more tips are rinsing your hair after shampooing with lemon juice for blondes and apple cider vinegar, for redheads and brunettes. Diluted in water as a rinse after shampooing. Adding a tiny bit of baking soda to the shampoo is a good detox because of the akalinity. Hair, skin and nails ph is 4.5 to 5.5. Waters ph is 7 so the acidity of the rinse counter acts the alkalinity. Add some moisture on the ends with a leave in hydrater. Using light beer as a setting lotion for a wet set. The odor is supposed to disapate once dry. I think it must be the sugar content in the alcohol locks the stiffness to maintain the set.
Erno Lazlo black sea mud soap was used by Hollywood glamour actresses utilizing the cold water splash method, actresses such as Joan Crawford was known to use ice facial baths to keep her skin youthful.
I love these tips! I used to buy (I think it was Estee Lauder, not sure) a scrub that was basically powdered milk and cornmeal. I started making my own, and it worked great. Witchhazel is great, I used it as a toner as a teenager. It can help reduce blemishes.
Witch hazel on the face and the eyes does work. I use it myself. Also hemorrhoid cream does work on wrinkles and fine lines. Another thing if you use a leave in conditioner in your hair...you can just grab your lotion to do the trick.
I slug under y eyes every night and it has made a huge difference for mr. I also use the same coco butter Vaseline on w clean spooly through my lashes and it has made them much better.
My mother usd lanolin on her face. I tried cooling blue hemorrhoid cream . I used eggs as a condtioner when I was a teenager and I used milk as a setting agent . Mayonaise is an egg, lemon juice, amd olive oil. use cool water. I spritzed a toilet water [ lighter than cologne] on my hair. You coulder dilute perfume or cologne or essential ol and use it. Warm eyelash curler with hot water and pat it dry, you are less likly to get it too hot and burn your eyelashes.
Most good pharmacies have olive oil based creams and lotions and medicinal olive oil, better than using the kind of olive oil the Italians bake with, which is not extra virgin. You should also be able to find witch hazel products and bottles of medical witch hazel. Again coconut oil products are available..look for Jamaican brands. Egg and also egg and beer based shampoos can be found in beauty products sections in some health food stores. I have used Johnson's baby oil lotion on my hair as a conditioner....I often have very dry hair in the summer. There is also a classic British cream hair conditioner, that I used to buy, but I don't know if it is available anymore, so I use dry shampoo. I keep a beauty blotter pad and a paper powder pad in my handbag, worth seeking out these products. My go to make up remover, other than makeup remover lotions, is baby lotion and again I prefer Johnson's.
I remember watching Merv Griffin and Zsa Zsa Gabor was being interviewed and she said she used two egg yokes and two tablespoons of honey as a Moisturizing facial mask . And egg whites on the face as a tightening agent .
Calamine lotion on zits! It works to cool down the inflammation and redness. Also, baking sofa with a wee bit of peroxide to make a toothpaste is great at removing stains.
Some of these tips should stay in the past tbh. Please don't use sugar on your face, the grains are way too harsh even when diluted. Chemical exfoliators are the way to go you can even get gentle ones. Also Witch hazel under your eyes regularly can be proaging rather than antiaging. This is all info from dermatologists 💜
If only original partum was available like back in the day ...sadly its mostly synthetically manufactured and reverse engineered causing debilitating migraines, sinus headaches, allergies and multiple chemical sensitivities to scents. Sad that perfumes are cheaply manufactured nowadays and true parfumaries are rare.
I use a lot of cetaphil sometimes mixed with jojoba oil since it so closely mimics our natural sebum. I also use cetaphil all around my eyes and it works wonders
I can attest to the sugar and honey working a miracle on severely dry skin that needs TLC. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and my skin was a wreck! I couldn’t find much but for meal times, I’d always ask for extra sugar and honey packets with my tea. After about 2 days, I had plenty to make a scrub/ mask for my face that worked wonders!
Theres so much conflicting information and opinions these days, especially here on RUclips. Some derms/estheticians say not to use Witch Hazel because it can have a stripping effect. I watched a video a couple of weeks ago and they said to never heat up an eyelash curler, even a little, because eyelashes are thin and easy to break. I guess trial and error is the only way to know if it works.
I think putting perfume on your hairbrush is smart, then you brush the beautiful smell thru your hair.
I do it all the time and love it!
I like these kind of videos. I just love old Hollywood movies & hearing about what certain stars used for their skin, makeup, perfume etc.
Thanks for watching

Thanks so much! Happy you liked this one
Vitamin E was also used for eye and face slugging
Thanks for the castor oil mention regarding eyebrows. This i must try.

Olive oil and witch hazel are very good. Just brought some coconut oil a few days ago have to start using it
Now I will say, the castor oil application to eyebrows and eyelashes worked for me. It also helped my baby hairs/edges grow a bit

Salt water is great for adding volume and texture to hair and great as a curl enhancer also

Olive oil or almond oil is a Gr8 natural option versus mineral or baby oil 😎😘
But…oil and water don’t mix?
Tooth paste on pimples work great!! It truly does! Love your channel ❤

I always like your videos Laura.
Antiquated techniques for maintaining beauty were quite creative and so wonderfully effective. Thank you for sharing all that you do with us. 🖤
I used to do the vaseline trick and spraying perfume on my hair brush!

I've used witch hazel after tweezing my brows to soothe the browbone area.

Love the video ❤ I’ve tried most of these, my favorite is the Vaseline and Chanel sprayed on my hairbrush 😊
Wow your skin is glowing!! Drop us the skin care routine
I’ve definitely used the toothpaste acne trick so many times because it really helps.

Olive oil and coconut oil are great. They have made a major comeback.
Olive oil is effective natural lice treatment without using harsh stinky expensive chemical treatments on the market
I slug under y eyes every night and it has made a huge difference for mr. I also use the same coco butter Vaseline on w clean spooly through my lashes and it has made them much better.
Loving it ty 🎉
Great video😊 i tried coconut oil & sugar scrub , these are great

Going to try the vasoline under eyes and coconut to hair let you know Result one of my favorite type videos thanks.
I use coconut oil along with shampoo to wash my hair. Some hours. It has left hair hydrated, shiny and silky. And it reduced hair loss.
I remember watching Merv Griffin and Zsa Zsa Gabor was being interviewed and she said she used two egg yokes and two tablespoons of honey as a Moisturizing facial mask
.
And egg whites on the face as a tightening agent .
Egg whites on the face can leave a white residue and peel when dry 😉
I believe JLo’s skincare line has olive oil as one of the star ingredients. It’s on my list to try for my dry skin.
Calamine lotion on zits! It works to cool down the inflammation and redness. Also, baking sofa with a wee bit of peroxide to make a toothpaste is great at removing stains.
❤ MOUNT CARMEL

Natural beauty treatments always seem to be opposed by proffessionals perhaps conflicting with their chemical product profits
Absolutely love your content ❤️ I'm definitely trying perfume on my hairbrush. X
Thanks so much

I'll try the honey & sugar scrub
I use a lot of cetaphil sometimes mixed with jojoba oil since it so closely mimics our natural sebum. I also use cetaphil all around my eyes and it works wonders

leaving honey on lips overnight as a mask works soo well too!!
I used once coconut oil and the hairdresser needed to wash my hair 4 times to get it off. 😂
It's very thick
In the Christie Brinkley book “Timeless Beauty” she does say the Prep-H DOES work for under eye puffiness. I have yet to try it myself though. 🤔

Curling lashes after applying mascara can break lashes and pull them out use with caution
anyone know any peachy/coral nail polishes like the colors in this video?
I tried hemorrhoid cream on my face and it give me a big headache. Tam mo
Actually I have found that calamine lotion works better on blemishes. I learned this one from the channel milk and honey
The powder over lipstick is pretty drying
Never put toothpaste on your skin!
Legendas em português please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sugar + Honey
I'm HIGHLY ALLERGIC 2 Honey😢😢
