I was scared at first, too. Fascism won't go easily, but it is closing in and I wasn't sure 4 months would be enough time to rally behind a range of potentials. Biden is not my favorite politician and I don't agree with all of his policies, but he will always have my appreciation and love for the incredibly noble decision he made. Yes Biden is old, yes he speaks slower than he used to, but he always mixed up his words and no one can diagnose dementia based on one appearance when he had COVID. I'm glad he was able to get a bit of his own back when he gave a sharp, impassioned speech at the DNC this week. He still made the right choice for himself, his family, and his country, but he deserves to be remembered with love and respect. I get the sentiment, but dont get too fixated with the Presidency, a lot more is done in "lower" instances of government and other institutions (school boards for example). I was scared at first, too. Fascism won't go easily, but it is closing in and I wasn't sure 4 months would be enough time to rally behind a range of potentials. Biden is not my favorite politician and I don't agree with all of his policies, but he will always have my appreciation and love for the incredibly noble decision he made. Yes Biden is old, yes he speaks slower than he used to, but he always mixed up his words and no one can diagnose dementia based on one appearance when he had COVID. I'm glad he was able to get a bit of his own back when he gave a sharp, impassioned speech at the DNC this week. He still made the right choice for himself, his family, and his country, but he deserves to be remembered with love and respect. He had more faith in the American people than I did, and I'm so glad he was right. #voteblue

plus..the elimination of student loans for so many..I paid a 35 thousand dollar loan for 20 years and still owed $9000…I had already paid that 35k off years ago..at this point it was just stealing from the bank, because of ambiguous interest rates, late fees, etc. and poof she made it disappear..what a relief. I'm 65, and also grew up watching Star Trek with my father (but starting with the original series). For the last decade I've been torn apart by where this country and the world may be heading. With the current momentum that basic sanity and decency have finally regained, I am greatly relieved. It's just too bad he became president at such an advanced age. I will say, even as much as I despise Trump, I was never happy that we had 81 and 78 year-old candidates as our options. When both candidates are older than Reagan was when he left office (and he was starting to show the effects of aging), I hope we don't nominate candidates in their 70s again.

I get the sentiment, but dont get too fixated with the Presidency, a lot more is done in "lower" instances of government and other institutions (school boards for example). I know the intent is good, but she has done allot in congress where the actual stuff gets decided, so in reality what you would want is more AOCs in congress.
