As per engels, when he talks about barbarism and slavery, what exactly enabled men to hold a position of authority over women? what allowed them to enslave women? how exactly did this come to be?
A great start in summarizing what WAS known about the start of patriarchy, from different scholarly points of view, but you should read my book, Pitiless Bronze: A Postpatriarchal Examination of Prepatriarchal Cultures, because patriarchies have not existed as long as most people think, and I prove how, when, and why males began positioning themselves as "transcendent" above females circa 2400 BCE in the Eastern Hemisphere.
So it’s basically based on a purely material universe….. if it’s only based on brute strength. NOw we come to matriarchy which ushers in the understanding that the world is spiritual.❤
Patriarchy was obviously a viable social order in our past as it has centuries of history across many cultures. But times change and it is no longer needed. Science should confine itself to learning how people lived long ago, and not make judgements about them by measuring them by current values.
PATRIARCHY was absolutely NEVER EVER At least viable Social order.. such a worst kind of excuse of by male supremacist apologists... Toxic masculinity was, is never the viable Social order... anymore than an artificial adaptation... Hunter gatherer societies were much more egalitarian...and women too used to hunt ..it's long proven...and no no human animal species is patriarchal overall...rather matriarchy is quite prevalent
Men are not superior to women or anything like that. Men and women are just different and have different functions and roles. To deny that is to deny reality.
she just explained how patriarchy came into existence , you are denying that those gender roles of men providing and women staying home with kids are just socially constructeD. they came about owning land and wanting to control women for perternity. before when they were in jungles with nothing, again biologically different, majority of the people live as gatherers and hunters , most people lived off of gathering. That was the natural way of life , patriarchal gender roles weren't. AT THIS POINT , GENDER ROLES ARE NOT EVEB RELEVENT AT THIS POINT. Thus to say man's role and woman's role is not correct.
who denied that here? all she talked about is hierarchy, whether the roles given to people in different communities created gender hierarchy or not. she never mentioned the content of the roles itself being the same between genders anywhere. however, if you are referring to the gender roles present in traditionally agricultural societies, i’d have to let you know those are definitely not universal and just a result of the economic activities humans living in those societies engage in, (just like the roles produced by hunter gatherer, industrial or post industrial societies or literally any human economic activity).
That is exactly what is being infered to over here by her. The idea that the patriarchy exists because of some form of hierarchical tyranny of power is inaccurate @@reb0tco678
Unfortunately the difference in roles isn't seen that way. Women's roles are seen as inherently inferior by virtue of association to women who are considered inferior beings within the Patriarchy. Patriarchy artificially instills connotations and value with respect to gendered labor. The difference therefore are meant for the purpose of segregation and not classification. Those connotations can be positive when associations to men, negative when associations to women. For example female sexuality is usually used as an allegation or a slur to control the women calling her sl*t or promiscuous for even having male friends, where as male sexuality is celebrated and considered as perfectly natural insofar as legitimizing male infidelity through polygamy (all patriarchal culture were polygamous at some point in history) and marital grape.
Though i support 'equality' because it is the only sustainable way to lead a civilization in a 'just' manner but disagree with all the arguments provided by ma'am, her arguments for equality are laughable in the same manner as she laughed by quoting deterministic notions of pseudo scientists
What if patriarchy was a tail-end extension of a spiritual matriarchy, where one could not exist without the other as each follows the other throughout the course of all eternity? Spiritually speaking (gender aside), matriarchy can begin with a fundamental understanding of the cyclical nature of reality (God). Represented by the snake in many creation myths, the living cycle has a trinity of a beginning (head), a middle and end (tail). As above so below, the sexes were created in the image of God's cyclical nature where Mother is the head and opening to all beginnings and Father holds the tail to all endings (through which the sowing of seeds allow for the next great matriarchal rebirth). The joining of the two (symbolized by the Ouroborus or the marriage ring) is the sacred union needed in assuring the creation and continuation of new life cycles. To speak of the present day God as "Our Father" is simply an admission to our collective positioning within the bigger cycle. As all mothers have direct experience with the creator quality of birthing, so is the direct experience of rebirthing the divinity within (baptism) belong to that which is spiritually matriarchal. (John 3, verse 3-8). Sekhmet statues (ancient Egyptian) carry most of their weight in symbolic memory of what was a mother culture dedicated to the direct experience of baptism. As the leg shaped hairlocks extend from maternal breasts to the womb of rebirth, the lioness's head proportions are such that they highlight the bust of a second animal figure. The Lioness's ears as eyes and eyes as nose (nostrils) brings to life the figure of a reptile. 'Neath the halo headress of the solar egg, the lioness's egg fertilization process being internal (Set) and the reptile's egg fertilization process being external (Setting), such being key components to the safety of entering the trans-egoic or "born again" state. The life threatening fear associated with the predatory nature of a lion and/or crocodile encounter are reflective of the intense ego death experiences associated with the transpersonal awakening process. In spiritually matriarchal times, illumination could be seen as wearing the false beard (ancient Egyptian funerary "ego" death mask) as the high state of cyclical self knowing; high awareness of both our upper matriarchal half and our lower (later) patriarchal half (compared with a mini lower body replica, an "as above so below" tail end beard extension); in full recognition of her civilizational Underworld; her inevitable cyclical destiny. The male pharaoh wears his beard tapered in reverse, indicating a pointing upwards towards the patriarchal head, divine representative of God's tail end cycle. Mary's anointing and wiping of Jesus's feet with her hair can then be seen as "Head to tail" (toe) imagery as she descends her matriarchal head to his patriarchal feet, thus reenacting the high understanding of the divine cyclical process. (John 12, verse 3) To carry the Ankh (now the female symbol ♀️) was perhaps to symbolically carry that upper and lower understanding. As the upper matriarchal womb symbolised the fertile birthing of civilization, below, the now Christian cross is carried to place emphasis on the lower (later) "End Times" Father principle of the great cycle. Lord Ganesha, the elephant headed Hindu diety, displays a cyclical head to trunk symbolism and points to the Mother head of his matriarchal elephant society. Ganesha (like the elephant) wears God's cyclical nature on his face. A whole temple was dedicated to Hathor (ancient Egyptian diety), who is the matriarchal "Uterus" personified. ruclips.net/video/J0m0zJSEFK0/видео.html "See all women as mothers, serve them as your mother. when you see the entire world as the mother, the ego falls away. Very distorted and unnecessarily divisive views. Patriarchy was not only about "hunting", but also about protecting against animals and bad weather, building structures and infrastructure, exploring land and oceans, digging deep into the earth to extract minerals, protecting against invasions and robbers. Hard, brutal work. This is where men contributed due to physical strength and not having to bear children. Sure, one can argue that "women are controlled by men". But let's not forget that men too are controlled in the society. This is how life works. If he's late to a meeting by mere 10 minutes, he would get a stern stare from the boss. If this happens a few more times, he'd get a warning. Then a discussion with HR and finally losing his job. "Hey, women are controlled by men" - is too simplistic a view. And dangerous. As patriarchy is being dismantled and women are left to fend on their own, birth rates have dropped to below-replacement levels. And this pattern is repeating across the globe wherever the "working women" model is being adopted. So yes, the Traditionalist view of patriarchy has great merits.
The quantitative sports in the Olympics prove that men are faster, stronger, jump higher, and everything else. The world records for men are always superior.
The restriction applied like for example the number of sets to be played by women in tennis has to be 3 instead of 5 like how men play ... is strangely visible to everyone in the world but nothing is done about it. This is one such example, there may be number of loopholes which trains a women or men that women are inferior in strength. It's pretty sad it's still that way !! I m keen on understanding the gender bias on olympics.
