  • In this video, two of my fifteen dragon fruit varieties budded and flowered for the first time. I’ll also highlight some materials in my dragon fruit pollination kit and feature close-ups of the hand-pollination process.
    I can’t wait to have my very first dragon fruit flowers and fruit!
    Please note: These are not the plants featured in my other dragon fruit videos. Those are Ecuador Paloras and have yet to flower. Hopefully, they’ll do so next year in 2023.

    This video was so useful. This is the clearest example I could find for how close my bloom is to firing off! Thank you so much for putting this together. Your plants look great!

    Always wanted to grow dragon fruit. Found you from your talk on a panel. Would be interesting to hear your talk AFTER you go through what you’re about to do…

      Thank you so much!
      Growing dragon fruits is so much fun! It’s a lot of work, but these have been the most interesting things I’ve grown. And there are so many different varieties with their own characteristics and flavors.
      I will continue documenting everything afterward, so I hope to talk about it and release it soon!

    Very nice! Do you know what the name of that plant is? I was sold a similar plant as "American Beauty " which is not even close!

    is it okay if ants come to the newly appeared buds ?

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804  8 месяцев назад +1

      If they're eating the sap that comes off the bud and not causing damage, it's usually ok. But if they're biting the bud, you'll need to remove or spray them.
      Most of the time, they go after the sap. But I've had a few flowers injured from ants biting them. They still flowered and opened, but were not pretty due to the disfigurement.

      @shamrockgirl804 thanks....turns out they were just feeding on the sap and flowers bloomed perfectly 🥰
