  • In this video, two of my dragon fruit varieties flowered for the first time, and some continued to grow their fruit while other plants produced flower buds. I’ll also feature dragon fruit flower timelapses and a new efficient tool to collect dragon fruit pollen.
    I can’t wait to have my first homegrown dragon fruit by August 2022!
    Please note: These are not the plants featured in my other dragon fruit videos. Those are Ecuador Paloras and have yet to flower. Hopefully, they’ll do so next year in 2023.
    Check back for an August dragon fruit update where there are more chances of dragon fruit flowers and pollination: (pending; check back in fall 2022)

    This is the first time I've gotten budd on my two self-fruiting plants, and wasn't sure what to expect through th flowering process. This video is very helpful--thank you!

    Thanks so much for these videos. We bought a house and moved in last year July 2021. Has a huge garden and found a massive network of dragonfruit plants. We love dragonfruit and were so happy. Saw two fruits last year but they didn’t grow. We chopped out a lot of overgrowth a few months ago and now see a lot of flowers on the plants we kept. They are about to flower and searching the internet I found your videos today and from them we’ve learnt we have to pollinate them 😱. I think we only have one plant that’s just spread so I don’t think pollinating them with each other will work 😢. Thinking of trying anyway but they so high up. Thanks so much for the videos, we have benefited a lot from them. 💜🌸

    I'm in north TX, also have a dragon fruit that is the same size as the ones from your videos! Right now I have it indoors and has grown so much new growth in the past month. I'm hoping to see buds this upcoming season!! Will you be selling pollen? Unfortunately I can't tell what variety mine is since I bought at HD and they labeled it 'dragonfruit' lol

    Have you gotten any of the yellow dragon fruit from plants you grew from seed yet, if so how long did it take to go from seed to fruit? Thanks

      Yes, I finally got a flower and fruit from one of them!
      My 4.5 Ecuador Palora (yellow) dragon fruit from seed bloomed a flower in mid-October 2022. Currently, on 2/26/23, the fruit is still growing on the plant. The variety takes about 6 months to ripen; it's longer than most dragon fruit varieties.
      I have other plants that are the same age but had to recover from a February 2021 freeze. They might produce this year in 2023.

    How many days you keep the pollen in the fridge before you freeze it

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804  Год назад +2

      I keep it in the fridge for about 30 days and then I freeze it. I take out enough pollen from the freezer when I need it to avoid thawing it.
