Barbora Kodetova -- the best rendition of Chani that we have yet seen. This sci-fi miniseries was the most faithful rendition of Dune that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, Frank Herbert really didn't give Chani much to do in the first book. They took some liberties and expanded on her character in the miniseries -- and Barbora did an outstanding job in giving Chani a sense of gravitas that lent her character much weight. It's understandable how Paul came to love Chani -- and how despite his prescience in knowing that she would die; she was his true love, consequently and quite understandably he still went bats and became a stinking, rag clad, although still prescient, desert wretch.
What an adorable woman. Hard to believe this was over 20 years ago.
