Excellent camera setting , but you did not have to bring things closer to camera , which blurred out the torque display. your focus was best around the vice. Nevertheless clear instructions and considerate repetitions.
Thank you for this bit of info, nobody has been able to tell me the reason why you unlock it before removal , I’m currently working on a 08 Camry and I’m installing a new vvt cam hear that came in the locked position, now I need to figure out how to unlock it and not damage it in the process
Check out technical service bulletin t-sb-0269-10. It's a pain in the ass trying to unlock it the way they show you in the tsb. Let's see what others have to say. Note the lock pin is inside the gear
If your going to make an educational video you need to talk and explain stuff, I can see I will have to make my own video to show people how to do this cam gear.
Toyota should have a recall on this stuff. I bought a 2009 corolla with 115,000 and it has the VVT-i cold start rattle. There is an upgraded part. It's also 300 dollars but as cheap as $160 on ebay plus me pulling the cam. A toyota tech said it doesn't hurt anything but the fact they redesigned the part shows they knew they had an issue. And it sounds terrible for a second, people nearby cringe. It sounds like the timing chain being eaten.
no, cam has to come out to clear the timing cover...its not hard at all, just follow unbolting and torquing sequences and directions and your good to go
Hello thanks for the video I bought an oem gear and it was unlocked before I torqued it I accidentally locked it I removed it and tried to reinstall it but it won't sit flush now does it have to be unlocked first?
1 Q ? please . see if I am right ? first we istall it , then we tighten it to 47 psi , then we turn it to get lock ٫ then i put the chain around .? Am i correct ? Thank you for your response ✟🙏🌾🌾🌾🍀
you are used to listening meaningless chatter , you did not even see that the man had clearly posted instructions and repeated it three times. What I do agree is that the music was tasteless and loud .
@@mohammadmalik4472 👎I stand by what I said. There are no clearly posted instructions unless you call the text on the screen momentarly posting. I didn't see that when I first came across this because I could see no point in annoying myself with music in the hopes that he might explain something useful in the video so I just shut it off much like I'm sure many others may have as well. If he had kept talking with the music low in the background it would make much more sense and he would probably have ten times the followers he does. Basing that statement on the comments on here. I am not alone. And no, I am not used to listening to meaningless chatter.

The reason why you tighten in the unlock position is because you dont shear off the pin inside the gear. It will create a check engine light code

All you gotta do was uncrew the bolt, blow air in the hole and turn the gear other way. What he's doing is jus confusing people only

.... waiting
Where’s it at then?
Where it at bro
Can you please turn the music up so I can’t hear what you’re saying...

I don’t get it the fkg music.. jus explain whit out music 😂😂😂😂😂
Can you change this without removing the camshaft from the engine? Just be sure to hold the camshaft while torquing?

yes
Hi. Just a question. I lost the pin on the sides of of the 4 holes. Can I get a new pin like that or i need to get ane camshaft?
just get rid of the loud music and let me keep focus on your video.
Thank you for this video. what size is the VVTI gear bolt?
14mm

Also since it doesn't sit flush how do I unlock it off the camshaft?
@@ellococt If it doesn't sit flush, then you probably have the pin in the wrong spot.

turn down the music
What the point of this? As soon as you start the car it will just lock up again because the engine spins clockwise if facing the cam gear side.
Does cam make noise when it lock? VVT-i
Great job Buddy, I like the way you repeat everything and point out the alignment pins and holes😊
Thank you for showing how to do it. 👍
Excelent Job, thank you for share…
Helpful video, can you send me a copy of manual thank you.
