You can combine both in your LP. Your werewolf will create a family and those teens will need to go to school. So now you have the awkward teenage werewolf navigating high school.
High school is hard enough, but the pressure of being a Bigwallet heir while adjusting to society's norms when you were raised in an abandoned factory in the woods? I'll be doing that in my game
Maybe Angus could adopt a child, because he's aspiring to be more like Christopher, and then you age the child up into a teenager. I feel like there's still a lot to explore with the werewolves pack, so I don't want to end that too soon. Maybe when Nina ages up she might start flirting with some of the other werewolves and see if she has a fated mate, and have a baby with them. Then we could see the contrast between a normal sim and a werewolf sim going to high school. Being a werewolf probably makes the puberty emotions even more chaotic. Teacher gives you detention for eating the furniture? Bite him!
@@Collins789 I'm not sure what his traits are, but family oriented sims will keep adopting until their household is full unless you turn their adoption privileges off. I had an elder in one of my saves living in the smallest city living apartment with 4 children, a toddler, and a dog.
I do really worry about that attend class in person thing. TS4 is TERRIBLE about the non-playing sims just not doing what they need to do. If I'm following my teen sim around school all day, are my parent sims still going to work? What if I have more than one teen sim? Who am I following? If I do afterschool activities with my teen, is my child sim at home just not going to do homework or feed themselves? Because right now if your active sim is on another lot, the home sims do absolutely FA for their needs. And there's a loading screen to switch between sims, so you can't even pop home real quick to make sure everyone is eating.
I have all of these concerns as well!! It looks cool but like, in my current game I've got twins so how does that work when they both go to school? What do the others in the household do in the meantime? I love this idea but I'm just so hesitant to add in an active-gameplay expansion because it affects SO much
Those are exactly my thoughts. I know how they already do things game play wise so I can't help but think that "high school" will be like the active careers and will get boring very quickly. I'm also worried about having to spend so much time doing all this stuff with the teens and just neglecting everyone else. Like you said, nobody does any damn thing if you're not actively playing them.
Lol so very true. I keep my families small for that exact reason. Especially since I like to play with Stories on and I’ll end up with deceasims if I’m away for too long.
The same as it does now for Get to work. If a couple bith have the same career they will prompt you when it's time to go, then they ask which sim you go active with.
I wonder how the sneaking out would work with the parenthood curfew system, because currently if your sims tries to do ANYTHING off lot (even if they're still loaded into the lot but walked a bit away, from my own experience) they lose responsibility because the game detects that they're breaking curfew
I would love this pack even more if they could make the teens look a tiny bit more like actual teens, maybe make them a lot shorter. Because even in the game they barely get any taller, and are basically just tiny slightly shrunken adults. I really loved how short the teens were in sims 3, and how much they actually looked like teens, I really wish they would add that to sims 4.
Can’t wait for James to be a CAS style influencer- peak fashion! I really wonder how this will mesh with Parenthood. A little worried that this looks really ambitious - get to work really suffered from trying to do too many different things, and Island Living just really lacked focus, so I hope they handle this right gameplay wise - on the plus side it looks like they borrowed from and built on existing things from past packs (so not entirely new but still a unique twist) so hopefully that means they had the time/budget to build out all these features to an appropriate depth. (By past pack, I mean the discover university cafeteria was probably the basis of the high school cafeteria, the slow dancing looks like the work done for the wedding pack animations formed the base even if it’s slightly different, etc)
Isn't the slow dancing a new one? With weddings isn't the couple holding one hand / one hand on the shoulder / waist. Vs teens with two hands on the shoulder / waist? I hope so!
@@SoldiersOfTheMind it does look like a different animation and I’m happy about that - my point was more that the work to get it to function was already there to build off of. One of the gurus had talked in the past about animations that had sims touching each other and moving through space being challenging re things like walking holding hands. They want to minimize clipping with objects and each other and sync the two sims up. So the behind the scenes work done to make slow dancing possible for my wedding stories means that they already have a foundation to work from. The same way that once a new object type (think six seater table from backyard stuff) is made once, it’s easier & takes less resources than making a new object type from scratch for them to make another one for a future pack.
I really don't want there to be a hair growth system. Given how fast time passes in the Sims, it will be a tedious thing FAST to constantly manage our Sims' hair. Especially if your intention is to keep a certain appearance. If it does exist, I hope it's a toggleble option.
When i first heard there was a high school pack i was confused why when we already have the university pack....but this actually looks pretty cool. Maybe nina will find her fated mate and have a teenager by the time the pack is out 😉
@@skullsckull I was unnecessarily confused about the fact that teens can't apply for college right before they age up. I absolutely adore having a sim that's a serious student. I bet the fashion icon stuff will get your celebrity level up which is great kf you want to go to college for arts and become famous!
Why would you be confused? University isn't High School, and arguably they did this better. University is just a small group of shells and there's no actual gameplay except forcing your sim to do homework for 10hrs a day for a class you dont even get to see! And when you dont even need degrees for jobs, theres literally no point in wasting your time with it, the tiny pay increase isn't worth all the boring grinding you have to do, it's so poorly balanced.
I’ve had a mod in my game for ages that allows sims to ask you out autonomously, and also break up autonomously if your relationship is too low! But I am glad they’re adding it to the game too, because that shouldn’t be something that needs a mod😋
Maybe turn aging off and Nina can go to high school? Maybe Angus decides the werewolf life is for him, but Nina decides it not. Or perhaps just create a new Sim all together and that Sim can get with Angus or Nina later on (similar to Hazel’s storyline). Either way - I’m very excited to see your Let’s Play! ☺️
I like this idea- Nina has been so delinquent and feral over the Werewolf Let's Play that she's made to go back to High School to get a proper education and reintegrate into normal society (she could be given a Potion of Youth to reset her back to the start of her teen years)
Which ever Sim is chose for this pack, I truly hope the Rages to Riches isn't rushed in order to move on to this one. It looks interesting, fun, more player-wants-influenced than usual, and has tons of potential. Really want both to have their time to Shine Bright 😉
I will definitely have to wait for gameplay reviews for this pack because it seems like alot of things going on i just hope it works better than just ok.
Very gen-z. So much so that I feel sort of aged out of this pack. I've been playing sims 2 again and those teen sims make more sense to me, because I was a teen when that came out. The social media and influencer thing in this pack just doesn't appeal to me. I don't 'get' it.
I would have liked them to do schools in general and include kids going to elementary school since it is an expansion pack. High School just seems more narrow than what it could have been. Just my own thoughts. University is the expansion pack I use the least.
I'd definitely like Nina or Angus's child to be the main one we follow. I'm dying to see the werewolf toddler stuff and we could also cure them so they'd be a regular sim when they get to teen, like how we de-blued Angus and Nina. That way we can continue the werewolf story and keep following the Bigwallet line. It's a month until the release so I feel like that's a good amount of time to spend in Werewolves. I'd be happy if Reginald has a kid and they go as well (cousins take on HS as friends or rivals?) but I'd rather follow characters we've been invested in from the beginning as the main one.
It looks cool but after wedding stories I'm worried that certain things like prom won't work well. Also a lot of the stuff sounds like parenthood, acne, teens getting in trouble for being outpast curfew. Plus we already have the style Influencer and social media carriers plus the RUclips station thing from other packs. I think if I didn't have those packs already this would be more appealing
Yeah, I have parenthood and I'm completely disinterested in this pack. I like how flexible parenthood is, with the different parenting styles. The curfew board is optional, you can set the time to what you like, and choose what consequences the parents give. This pack seems much more intensely American, so if you don't want to role-play american high school there may not be much there for you.

I hope high schools are lot types. I created an elementary school and uploaded it to the gallery. I could have used these objects! I want to build my own high school and have schools in various worlds!
I'm a bit annoyed that there's seemingly no "ugly" phases included. I want my Sims to have blunder years material! I want them to give themselves haircuts and have patchy hair dye and bedazzled/tie dye t shirts they made at a sleepover. I want the makeup to look like when you first begin to put on makeup and you have no idea what you're doing. Everything in the trailer (and the game so far) just seems really perfect. Like, there's the perfect teens with their perfect lives based around instagram/twitter/tiktok teen lives. Everyone looks like they're an actor in a teen film, they're all too old and it's nothing like real life. I certainly didn't have a great teenagehood and I want to replicate that onto my Sims. I feel like Sims 2 did it well when you could get acne just randomly and get arrested for being out after curfew; also the clothes were just really good teenage clothes for that "it's not a phase" look. This just feels really...sanitised. Like it's the version of your teenage years that you'd put on social media, but not the one that you'd regret. A lot of this just looks like young adult stuff, and I feel like that would've been a good way to differentiate them more. Maybe there is more to it and they're just showing the "good" teenage life in the trailer - I certainly hope so because I've been wanting blunder years style teen stuff for *ages*.
Does that mean that the neighborhood stories will also be updated so that other people can ask eachother out now if other teens can ask you out? That would be soo amazing🔥🤩

I love how everyone is so hyped up for this. This is a really cool expansion. I think every simmer has expressed the same thing about the preorder bonuses being time locked and the fact that you can never get them outside of that time window. Imagine being the one that wants it for Christmas and not being able to get the preorder bonuses. :(.
if graduation becomes a core part of the pack, there should be the option for sims who flunked out and aged up to get their GED so they have a better opportunity to start at a higher job level (but lbr, there's no way the devs thought of this)
I’m interested to learn more. I’m just sad that it doesn’t seem like there are height sliders. For the Let’s Play, it’d be nice to see Reginald’s family; maybe have Nina and/or Angus have kids that would attend school with his kids, but actually focus on Reginald and his family?
Yes I would love to see Reginald and that side of the family grow ! I love seeing the bigwallet family tree spread out! What ever you decide to do will be fun to watch!
I gotta comment, maybe they have two high schools like they have two Universities. I also saw shear curtains for a double window, and that neon full length mirror is something else. I hope YA sims can use this too. And I also hope they can turn off acne. High Schools was horrible for me because of it. And yes, body hair is back because if they need to shave they will have body hair--I hope. I also hope they will bring back cars with this pack. And I hope I am not getting my hopes up, but with the Farris wheel and the fun house, that someone can do the ending of Grease with those features. There is so much that is going on with this pack, I really really hope that there won't be that much glitches.
This pack and the upcoming update along side it adding openable windows, body hair, better social media and FRICKIN' BOBA (and so many more things).... I am SO excited for this!!

It looks cool. But as a non-American person, a lot of the gameplay isn't relatable at all. Prom, graduation and cheerleading isn't a thing here. I'm excited for the boba though!
✋️question: Knowing the struggles that the game has running on even the better end PC models for players, do you think this pack might make it more of a struggle to run without lag and delays? I imagine a few PCs will just say 'nope' and catch fire 🤣
@@MRobo-vt1xl I mean, the game already drags from time to time for some of the players that I know have a beefier pc than the average user of the game (I think James has mentioned before that he runs on a beefier than average system, yet he even has lag). This pack definitely looks like an improvement on gameplay, which is what we want and I'm super excited, I just wonder if EA has tested it out on an average pc that hasn't been beefed up... but that's also saying that they're selling what they're showing us 🤷♀️ I just don't understand why this type of game has to struggle to run smoothly on a brand new or beefy pc
There's already the ability to create trends with the stylist career. I hope they didn't just use that same functionality for the Trendi thing. I don't use it very often because I create a masculine or feminine trend and then EVERY townie starts wearing it. 🤣

Do you know what would be cool? a Get to Work type teaching career! Given the push on pronouns, I suspect they don't have a "Prom King" but probably some other title. @@maneskinned I think it depends, with sims currently it’s not great because they keep releasing incomplete buggy packs, but indie games it’s to show support and bigger games it’s for the benefits like with legends arceus Americans got an arceus plush and uk got an arceus statue both of which are worth it.
@@Wurmzei disagree. you're right about it being helpful for indie games. but for multi-billion/million companies such as EA, if you pre-order, you are removing your financial leverage and removing the company's incentive to do better. it only just perpetuates the idea that consumers only care about the ads rather than waiting for an actual good product. To pre-order is to make a conscious choice to give up your ability to punish false advertising. people can’t complain about false advertising when they consistently CHOOSE to enable it, to be part of the problem.
@@maneskinned that’s why I specified that it depends and it’s not a good idea for sims because they have such a bad track record. For companies with a good track record it’s just showing your love as a fan, and if they get lazy you don’t preorder the next one. Each to their own though
@@Wurmze cdpr had a good track record, and still look at the fiasco that was cyberpunk. i just think preordering as a whole should just die off. there's no use "showing your love as a fan", the bottomline for any company is money; preordering doesn't show them love, it shows them that false advertising works.
I don’t know why people glamorize high school so much, it was the worst time of my life. The pack looks fun, I’ll definitely buy it, but I wish Discover University was more like this, hopefully we’ll see some pack integration.
I tend to live through my sims. So if their highschool experience is fun I can kinda live through them and forget about my own I know it sounds sad but that's probably why a lot of ppl are glamorizing it
At my high school reunion half of the pictures and videos were of me, as I did track, but even I didn’t enjoy those years, and prom and graduation was just embarrassing .. I did find out one of my classmates went to prison, he told me at the reunion, but some of the girls in our class did sneak out like in the trailer, so that’s accurate

The problem is tweens would be more middle school / junior high? When they’re focused specifically on high school I think that would still be the teen life stage even if they had a tween stage. So it doesn’t really fit… now if they’d just done a school days pack with prek through high school it would have made a lot of sense. 🤔

A lot of schools have their proms elsewhere, at actual event venues. I wonder if the graduation/prom is in a new lot type that's specific purposed for events.
Doing the whole highschool experience with your sims and then doing university right after calls for a whole lot of gameplay. I'm very happy with what sims is doing.
If hazel and Trenton had that 3rd kid they called and asked about them I think they should be the next let’s play. So the older siblings went off and left home and hazel and Trenton move out of their brothers house and focus on their new kid so they don’t end up like their older siblings!!
I feel like they might actually be listening to us. I saw the video earlier and was wowed. I'm looking forward to this. Still enjoying my werewolves though. I was momentarily regretting that Nina will have aged up, because a werewolf in high school could have been fun. lol However, I'm enjoying that LP as it is. Maybe Reginald should have kids. I feel bad for him though because he doesn't really get any play time, he just shows up on community lots from time to time. Maybe he could have a potions accident and get deaged to teen, move in with his now older cousins Nina and Angus (and whoever their respective partners are, if any), and go to high school. Wowie that’s what I was looking for when I had the physical abilities to play video games without getting body pain (overstimulated bean I become), I might gonna have fun watching how others enjoy it, might get that one if I find a way to play without getting my body all ouchy. I would’ve loved it if the had an expansion for toddler education and elementary, bringing back the daycare career and bringing more functional stuff to them apart of trashing up places. Sim Toddler and Children could really use some more depth as well, cam just imagine how fun that would be.
I think you could still do this with the werewolf lp, having Angus or Nina's kids go to high school, since it doesn't sound like a rags to riches as its own lp :)
I would love to see a Let's Play where you follow one character as a teen in high school, then you have them dorm at college, then get married and have a family of their own! Maybe they end up marrying their high school sweet heart, or when they're off at college they cheat on their girlfriend/boyfriend back home and experiment and party it up! But I think it would be great to see a Let's Play that follows one character from childhood through adulthood using all the school functions.
I had some rough years as well, and I was homeschooled so this is definitely something I'm unfamiliar with. But at least the build items look pretty sweet! Overall highschool seems really romanticized.
I enjoyed Highschool. Not the people though, a lot of them were a**'s and some were great like the 2 friends i still have 10+ years since my matriculation, but yeah I litrally just enjoyed highschool the concept not the people in it.
high-school was hell for me too, as well as I'd say the majority of kids. it's an awful time to be learning who you are, and you're surrounded by complete jackasses. but this game is an opportunity to try and enjoy it from the outside! I say live out everything you wanted to do in high-school! or make an 80's theme or if you have occult have them try to remain undiscovered. tell a story! or become a spellcaster and punish the bullies! or befriend them and make them realize they're mean. so many possibilities! I use the sims for therapeutic purposes and living out what I either missed out on or need to process. it's an incredibly useful tool.
also im very sorry your had/have to experience that. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. you deserve to feel peace inside. I hope your therapist is a good one and you make great progress!

Oh wow... I actually had a dream the other night where my sims could visit like a rabbit hole area in a world with a Ferris wheel and a roller coaster, where you could see like their faces pop up in the distance occasionally while they were 'on' the ride. (Like you'd see a cart with your sim in zoom past on part of the roller coaster and then disappear again.) At the time I thought I really needed a life if I was not only dreaming about a game, but dreaming about underwhelming kinda-cool-but-also-not game updates. I mean, it's a reflection about what I expect from the Sims at this point, but still...
I have never been to or will ever go to a high school prom so this will be fun to try out! :3 (The students that were fixing the prom did a poor job fixing it in so many ways, so I ordered 4 pizzas with 3 friends and watched the first two Pirates of the Caribbean movies instead)

Yeah but I feel like you can make Teenagers Look really young in the Sims, or you can make them Look like Young adults. It depends on how you create them. And thats cool because then you can make a sim that just starts High School Look young and make them Look older by the end of High School😁

i'm really glad that james brought up the fact it's kind of dubious that you get special items only when you buy the game in the first two months. i think it's no problem when the items aren't that special but let's say in the case of cottage living one of those items was a bicycle. and because i don't have university and i couldn't buy cottage living in the first two months since it came out i don't have bicycles in my game. which is just insane

Because right now if your active sim is on another lot, the home sims do absolutely FA for their needs. And there's a loading screen to switch between sims, so you can't even pop home real quick to make sure everyone is eating.

I have all of these concerns as well!! It looks cool but like, in my current game I've got twins so how does that work when they both go to school? What do the others in the household do in the meantime? I love this idea but I'm just so hesitant to add in an active-gameplay expansion because it affects SO much
Those are exactly my thoughts. I know how they already do things game play wise so I can't help but think that "high school" will be like the active careers and will get boring very quickly. I'm also worried about having to spend so much time doing all this stuff with the teens and just neglecting everyone else. Like you said, nobody does any damn thing if you're not actively playing them.

The same as it does now for Get to work. If a couple bith have the same career they will prompt you when it's time to go, then they ask which sim you go active with.
I wonder how the sneaking out would work with the parenthood curfew system, because currently if your sims tries to do ANYTHING off lot (even if they're still loaded into the lot but walked a bit away, from my own experience) they lose responsibility because the game detects that they're breaking curfew
They need to fix heat. My sim lost responsibility for still being out babysitting so was forced to extend the curfew. Now I never set curfew
imo going off lot, like to sit in on a bench in the neighbourhood, should count as breaking curfew, but going to work shouldn't.
I would love this pack even more if they could make the teens look a tiny bit more like actual teens, maybe make them a lot shorter. Because even in the game they barely get any taller, and are basically just tiny slightly shrunken adults. I really loved how short the teens were in sims 3, and how much they actually looked like teens, I really wish they would add that to sims 4.
interestingly, ItsKatato (the person who made the preteen mod that allows you to make teen sims shorter) is now working with EA, so who knows 👀

Can’t wait for James to be a CAS style influencer- peak fashion! I really wonder how this will mesh with Parenthood. A little worried that this looks really ambitious - get to work really suffered from trying to do too many different things, and Island Living just really lacked focus, so I hope they handle this right gameplay wise - on the plus side it looks like they borrowed from and built on existing things from past packs (so not entirely new but still a unique twist) so hopefully that means they had the time/budget to build out all these features to an appropriate depth. (By past pack, I mean the discover university cafeteria was probably the basis of the high school cafeteria, the slow dancing looks like the work done for the wedding pack animations formed the base even if it’s slightly different, etc)

@@SoldiersOfTheMind it does look like a different animation and I’m happy about that - my point was more that the work to get it to function was already there to build off of. One of the gurus had talked in the past about animations that had sims touching each other and moving through space being challenging re things like walking holding hands. They want to minimize clipping with objects and each other and sync the two sims up. So the behind the scenes work done to make slow dancing possible for my wedding stories means that they already have a foundation to work from. The same way that once a new object type (think six seater table from backyard stuff) is made once, it’s easier & takes less resources than making a new object type from scratch for them to make another one for a future pack.

I really don't want there to be a hair growth system. Given how fast time passes in the Sims, it will be a tedious thing FAST to constantly manage our Sims' hair. Especially if your intention is to keep a certain appearance. If it does exist, I hope it's a toggleble option.
They make some other annoying things like dust toggleable, so I could see that being a thing

Why would you be confused? University isn't High School, and arguably they did this better. University is just a small group of shells and there's no actual gameplay except forcing your sim to do homework for 10hrs a day for a class you dont even get to see! And when you dont even need degrees for jobs, theres literally no point in wasting your time with it, the tiny pay increase isn't worth all the boring grinding you have to do, it's so poorly balanced.

Maybe turn aging off and Nina can go to high school? Maybe Angus decides the werewolf life is for him, but Nina decides it not. Or perhaps just create a new Sim all together and that Sim can get with Angus or Nina later on (similar to Hazel’s storyline). Either way - I’m very excited to see your Let’s Play! ☺️
I like this idea- Nina has been so delinquent and feral over the Werewolf Let's Play that she's made to go back to High School to get a proper education and reintegrate into normal society (she could be given a Potion of Youth to reset her back to the start of her teen years)

Which ever Sim is chose for this pack, I truly hope the Rages to Riches isn't rushed in order to move on to this one. It looks interesting, fun, more player-wants-influenced than usual, and has tons of potential. Really want both to have their time to Shine Bright 😉

I would have liked them to do schools in general and include kids going to elementary school since it is an expansion pack. High School just seems more narrow than what it could have been. Just my own thoughts. University is the expansion pack I use the least.

I'd definitely like Nina or Angus's child to be the main one we follow. I'm dying to see the werewolf toddler stuff and we could also cure them so they'd be a regular sim when they get to teen, like how we de-blued Angus and Nina. That way we can continue the werewolf story and keep following the Bigwallet line. It's a month until the release so I feel like that's a good amount of time to spend in Werewolves. I'd be happy if Reginald has a kid and they go as well (cousins take on HS as friends or rivals?) but I'd rather follow characters we've been invested in from the beginning as the main one.
It looks cool but after wedding stories I'm worried that certain things like prom won't work well. Also a lot of the stuff sounds like parenthood, acne, teens getting in trouble for being outpast curfew. Plus we already have the style Influencer and social media carriers plus the RUclips station thing from other packs. I think if I didn't have those packs already this would be more appealing
Yeah, I have parenthood and I'm completely disinterested in this pack. I like how flexible parenthood is, with the different parenting styles. The curfew board is optional, you can set the time to what you like, and choose what consequences the parents give. This pack seems much more intensely American, so if you don't want to role-play american high school there may not be much there for you.

I'm a bit annoyed that there's seemingly no "ugly" phases included. I want my Sims to have blunder years material! I want them to give themselves haircuts and have patchy hair dye and bedazzled/tie dye t shirts they made at a sleepover. I want the makeup to look like when you first begin to put on makeup and you have no idea what you're doing.
Everything in the trailer (and the game so far) just seems really perfect. Like, there's the perfect teens with their perfect lives based around instagram/twitter/tiktok teen lives. Everyone looks like they're an actor in a teen film, they're all too old and it's nothing like real life. I certainly didn't have a great teenagehood and I want to replicate that onto my Sims. I feel like Sims 2 did it well when you could get acne just randomly and get arrested for being out after curfew; also the clothes were just really good teenage clothes for that "it's not a phase" look.
This just feels really...sanitised. Like it's the version of your teenage years that you'd put on social media, but not the one that you'd regret. A lot of this just looks like young adult stuff, and I feel like that would've been a good way to differentiate them more. Maybe there is more to it and they're just showing the "good" teenage life in the trailer - I certainly hope so because I've been wanting blunder years style teen stuff for *ages*.
there are some awkward/messy haircuts in Parenthood, you might like that better.
tbh a lot of these outfits very much are how teens dress these days. we’re much more fashionable than previous gens

I love how everyone is so hyped up for this. This is a really cool expansion. I think every simmer has expressed the same thing about the preorder bonuses being time locked and the fact that you can never get them outside of that time window. Imagine being the one that wants it for Christmas and not being able to get the preorder bonuses. :(.

if graduation becomes a core part of the pack, there should be the option for sims who flunked out and aged up to get their GED so they have a better opportunity to start at a higher job level (but lbr, there's no way the devs thought of this)

I gotta comment, maybe they have two high schools like they have two Universities. I also saw shear curtains for a double window, and that neon full length mirror is something else. I hope YA sims can use this too. And I also hope they can turn off acne. High Schools was horrible for me because of it. And yes, body hair is back because if they need to shave they will have body hair--I hope. I also hope they will bring back cars with this pack. And I hope I am not getting my hopes up, but with the Farris wheel and the fun house, that someone can do the ending of Grease with those features. There is so much that is going on with this pack, I really really hope that there won't be that much glitches.

@@MRobo-vt1xl I mean, the game already drags from time to time for some of the players that I know have a beefier pc than the average user of the game (I think James has mentioned before that he runs on a beefier than average system, yet he even has lag). This pack definitely looks like an improvement on gameplay, which is what we want and I'm super excited, I just wonder if EA has tested it out on an average pc that hasn't been beefed up... but that's also saying that they're selling what they're showing us 🤷♀️ I just don't understand why this type of game has to struggle to run smoothly on a brand new or beefy pc

@@Wurmzei disagree. you're right about it being helpful for indie games. but for multi-billion/million companies such as EA, if you pre-order, you are removing your financial leverage and removing the company's incentive to do better. it only just perpetuates the idea that consumers only care about the ads rather than waiting for an actual good product. To pre-order is to make a conscious choice to give up your ability to punish false advertising. people can’t complain about false advertising when they consistently CHOOSE to enable it, to be part of the problem.

At my high school reunion half of the pictures and videos were of me, as I did track, but even I didn’t enjoy those years, and prom and graduation was just embarrassing .. I did find out one of my classmates went to prison, he told me at the reunion, but some of the girls in our class did sneak out like in the trailer, so that’s accurate

I think it looks good, but they still look like young adults, rather than teens. It looks like it may seem more like university students than 12 - 18 year olds. If there's ever a pack they could introduce a tweens / young teens stage, it would be a high school years expansion pack :/
The problem is tweens would be more middle school / junior high? When they’re focused specifically on high school I think that would still be the teen life stage even if they had a tween stage. So it doesn’t really fit… now if they’d just done a school days pack with prek through high school it would have made a lot of sense. 🤔

Doing the whole highschool experience with your sims and then doing university right after calls for a whole lot of gameplay. I'm very happy with what sims is doing.
If hazel and Trenton had that 3rd kid they called and asked about them I think they should be the next let’s play.
So the older siblings went off and left home and hazel and Trenton move out of their brothers house and focus on their new kid so they don’t end up like their older siblings!!

Wowie that’s what I was looking for when I had the physical abilities to play video games without getting body pain (overstimulated bean I become), I might gonna have fun watching how others enjoy it, might get that one if I find a way to play without getting my body all ouchy. I would’ve loved it if the had an expansion for toddler education and elementary, bringing back the daycare career and bringing more functional stuff to them apart of trashing up places. Sim Toddler and Children could really use some more depth as well, cam just imagine how fun that would be.
I think you could still do this with the werewolf lp, having Angus or Nina's kids go to high school, since it doesn't sound like a rags to riches as its own lp :)

I would love to see a Let's Play where you follow one character as a teen in high school, then you have them dorm at college, then get married and have a family of their own! Maybe they end up marrying their high school sweet heart, or when they're off at college they cheat on their girlfriend/boyfriend back home and experiment and party it up!
But I think it would be great to see a Let's Play that follows one character from childhood through adulthood using all the school functions.

I hated my high school years and I don't know how I feel about this pack. Was bullied all my school days and still in therapy for it.
I had some rough years as well, and I was homeschooled so this is definitely something I'm unfamiliar with. But at least the build items look pretty sweet! Overall highschool seems really romanticized.
I enjoyed Highschool. Not the people though, a lot of them were a**'s and some were great like the 2 friends i still have 10+ years since my matriculation, but yeah I litrally just enjoyed highschool the concept not the people in it.
high-school was hell for me too, as well as I'd say the majority of kids. it's an awful time to be learning who you are, and you're surrounded by complete jackasses. but this game is an opportunity to try and enjoy it from the outside! I say live out everything you wanted to do in high-school! or make an 80's theme or if you have occult have them try to remain undiscovered. tell a story! or become a spellcaster and punish the bullies! or befriend them and make them realize they're mean. so many possibilities! I use the sims for therapeutic purposes and living out what I either missed out on or need to process. it's an incredibly useful tool.
also im very sorry your had/have to experience that. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. you deserve to feel peace inside. I hope your therapist is a good one and you make great progress!

Oh wow... I actually had a dream the other night where my sims could visit like a rabbit hole area in a world with a Ferris wheel and a roller coaster, where you could see like their faces pop up in the distance occasionally while they were 'on' the ride. (Like you'd see a cart with your sim in zoom past on part of the roller coaster and then disappear again.) At the time I thought I really needed a life if I was not only dreaming about a game, but dreaming about underwhelming kinda-cool-but-also-not game updates. I mean, it's a reflection about what I expect from the Sims at this point, but still...
I have never been to or will ever go to a high school prom so this will be fun to try out! :3 (The students that were fixing the prom did a poor job fixing it in so many ways, so I ordered 4 pizzas with 3 friends and watched the first two Pirates of the Caribbean movies instead)

30:40 NO BUT THIS RIGHT HERE. It's literally the only issues I have with this pack, teenagers still look almost the exact same shape as young adults and adults. I hope the acne will comes and goes randomly like in the sims 2, so that at least my sims will feel a bit more teenage-y and less polished.
Yeah but I feel like you can make Teenagers Look really young in the Sims, or you can make them Look like Young adults. It depends on how you create them. And thats cool because then you can make a sim that just starts High School Look young and make them Look older by the end of High School😁
Really excited for this pack! Maybe you could have Angus or Nina adopt a child in the lets play! Rory from the Werewolf pack the lour is that she was adopted in. Can't wait to see a schooling to balling rages to riches :D
i'm really glad that james brought up the fact it's kind of dubious that you get special items only when you buy the game in the first two months. i think it's no problem when the items aren't that special but let's say in the case of cottage living one of those items was a bicycle. and because i don't have university and i couldn't buy cottage living in the first two months since it came out i don't have bicycles in my game. which is just insane
Maybe the high school build depends on where your Sim lives? Different high schools would mean school rivalries!
