Such a great game, it deserves so much love. That ending though, I had to take a break because I was crying like a bab. But yes the sequel apparently rocks too. I would love to play it someday.
@@knightofarkronia9968 Unfortunately true. Phantasy Reverie doesn't keep the smile. Just like the Wii version, most of the emotional beats in the original are lost due to the expressionless character models.

Yes! I agree. I was surprised at how depressing the ending was.
I’m guessing he was trying to put on a brave face. He is unable to do so in the Wii remake (and presumably the Phantasy Reverie Series).
