Yeah man! you are taking DM to top level,I been using your list too it plays really good! i have been using DRNM with thrust and TTT in the main more. On thing im always struggling on is Dualtiy its so good but so far its been a brick in hand most of tims for me. plus im also working on a Branded deck without Branded Fusion and gonna try to make it work with DM to :)

Alubers and opening will only come if I decide on playing quem… personally I think it adds more fluff to a deck that doesn’t really need it. It’s cute, just not the optimal way to play this version of DM/Branded

Can you elaborate on the duality plays? I don't understand/ see how Cartesia itself can become a Dragoon since the level is not the same. Also, how do you use shaddol Schism to summon out the shaddol monsters if you don't play any main deck shaddolls? Maybe I am just dumb but I really don't understand the plays

@MatchieYGO I know youre in the middle of prepping your DM deck for YCS, but what's your opinion on combining DM-Branded with the new Illusion engine? I put one together using your DM-Branded ratios (minus Blazing Cartesia engine) and the Illusion engine from TeamSamuraiX1 and I've found the Illusion engine adds a lot of speed and resource recursion that you can rely on until you can get Dragoon out. If anything, Dragoon is just the icing on top because you have so many interruptions and good boss monsters with Illusion. But I'm super casual, never played competitive, so I wanted your opinion.
It’s cute. I don’t think it’s fantastic… I know other DM players are trying to make it work, I just don’t see the synergy outside of “I do illusion stuff, if I get interrupted, I can do my DM stuff freely” which is cute. But I don’t think it’s viable at very high levels of play. I am very interested in playing the deck on its own though! It looks amazing
@@MatchieYGO yeah after playing around with the deck for few hours I felt the same. I played a couple of times against Tear-Ishizu decks and while it seemed to hold its own better than other DM dragoon decks I've played, I still lost if they got their board all set up

To answer your question about the budget alternatives, for kurikara, Kaiju’s are pretty strong and for Thrusts, I’d say cut that entire package and play DRNM, And evenly in the side :) hope this helps! No, def not with Dark Magician. Both engines have zero synergy with eachother. That being said, I have been testing the new chimera deck on its own! It’s so fun! I’ll definitely do a video on it eventually!

Simple. Because branded stuff and generic super poly targets are frickin broken. Only 3 of the cards in the extra deck were dm cards. In fact I'd even go so far as to say this isn't a dm deck, but rather a branded deck using dm cards. Unfortunately you'll find a lot of meta players like this. Gutting the identity of the deck and filling it with meta staples and having the audacity to say the deck they butchered is still the same deck.

What’s the difference between something like this Vs a deck like Kash that does the same thing (15-18 in archetype cards and the rest staples) If you wish to play every single bad DM extra deck monster and never go into them under any circumstances, because dragoon is just infinitely better, then by all means, go for it. But don’t expect to get results consistently If I was playing at a causal level, Absolutely, I’d load up 3 Circles, 3 ES and have a ride going x-2 or. X-3 at locals. That’s just not the reality of what I’m trying to do here.

Yugioh is a game with thousands of cards, feel free to use any of them in your lists.

Super Poly has been my ace in the hole for Dark Magician for months. It's just so good. Besides the normal Super Poly targets, Dark Magician's own fusion monsters give him plenty of flexibility for using Super Poly. Dark Cavalry let's you Super Poly Baronne, for instance. Granted you don't have room for Cavalry, but still I agree Super Poly is a nutty support card for DM.

Tomorrow I'm taking this deck to my locals. But I made some changes: book of eclipse instead of droll and called by the grave instead of shaddoll schism. Also, in the side no Kurikara and no Thrust, but I'm playing full talents and Kaijus. Also, I'm playing Guardian Chimera in the extra. I've tested it and it seems to perform well.
@@MatchieYGO Quite bad, actually. Defeated Unchained 2-0 with Dragoon Pass, then... 0-2 against Mannadium, Vanquish Soul and Kashtira. It was a bloodbath. Duality was always glued in double copy to my hand. Every hand was super bricky, but it was fun 😅🤣

The math doesn’t change at all in that situation… A better argument would be 2 prep 2 IOC, but even then, droll is in every main deck, and the math doesn’t warrant the risk… droll on prep ends your turn in most situations The option to draw 1 extra card off souls doesn’t make any sense in this case
@@MatchieYGO Eh, that's fair. I can see the draw 1 as useful as a niche, but I suppose if you don't like droll then I can see it. You don't have a lot of potentially dead spells and traps like normal dm decks so I can see why you'd think the extra draw 1 isn't worth it, but I'd rather thin out the extra illusion if I end up already having it, and save for the weird case scenario of an extra draw 1 if you're dead.
Wow. What a good looking deck. I'm honestly not familiarized with the Dark Magician modern cards, but the art is insane. I remember back then when Dark Magician of Chaos and Dark Paladin were probably the coolest. Congratulations on your win!
A superpoly target could be Mysterion the Dragon Crown! I don’t know if you have tested the card out yet on test hands or duels with your friends and I don’t know if it would be optimal in this build or in any other variation you make but hey, it’s worth it to try! :) Mysterion has put some of my friends against the ropes in same duels haha.
I’ve tried it :) even as a duality target it’s a interesting card… just the extra deck is so tight there isn’t any room for it right now. But I have tested it :) it’s an interesting tech for sure Thanks for the comment!
DMC and ES are very outdated. So many resources need to be spent for 1 banish and recursion and then ES could pop your entire board if its dealt with. It’s outdated and doesn’t do enough. The DM engine in the video is all you need : Replenish resources from Soul servent stacking from grave and drawing 2 every turn… Secrets to ritual summon and fuse…. rod, IOC, Souls to search every card you need to get dark magician in rotation.

You recycle it with branded fusion :) I promise. One copy is all you need. 2 is good, but I needed to cut on the bricks. Try it at 1, you won’t regret it
Cartesia has opened up DM completely. I once said dmbranded is a worse version of branded.. I say wholeheartedly it's no longer the case now because of the synergy Cartesia has with both branded and DM. And speaking from personal play experience branded DM has a leg up on the branded match up. Great job!!
You make Grang with Cartesia and any other monster in the deck, Grang’s effect is to send a monster form ED or MD to the grave (you send Apkalone) which adds schism… and schism fuses on your opp turn to make winda :) Hope this helps! Combo video coming soon!

I like the one dm one dmg soul servant is good I even do it in red build. But I found a way to play circle in dm and make it work.

You don't have a lot of potentially dead spells and traps like normal dm decks so I can see why you'd think the extra draw 1 isn't worth it, but I'd rather thin out the extra illusion if I end up already having it, and save for the weird case scenario of an extra draw 1 if you're dead.
Wow. What a good looking deck. I'm honestly not familiarized with the Dark Magician modern cards, but the art is insane. I remember back then when Dark Magician of Chaos and Dark Paladin were probably the coolest. Congratulations on your win!

A superpoly target could be Mysterion the Dragon Crown! I don’t know if you have tested the card out yet on test hands or duels with your friends and I don’t know if it would be optimal in this build or in any other variation you make but hey, it’s worth it to try! :) Mysterion has put some of my friends against the ropes in same duels haha.
I’ve tried it :) even as a duality target it’s a interesting card… just the extra deck is so tight there isn’t any room for it right now.

How come no dark magical circle or eternal soul 🤔
DMC and ES are very outdated. So many resources need to be spent for 1 banish and recursion and then ES could pop your entire board if its dealt with.
It’s outdated and doesn’t do enough. The DM engine in the video is all you need : Replenish resources from Soul servent stacking from grave and drawing 2 every turn… Secrets to ritual summon and fuse…. rod, IOC, Souls to search every card you need to get dark magician in rotation.
I feel if we're going to use them we at least need a way to set them up easily (on 1st turn)

Cartesia has opened up DM completely. I once said dmbranded is a worse version of branded.. I say wholeheartedly it's no longer the case now because of the synergy Cartesia has with both branded and DM. And speaking from personal play experience branded DM has a leg up on the branded match up. Great job!!

You make Grang with Cartesia and any other monster in the deck, Grang’s effect is to send a monster form ED or MD to the grave (you send Apkalone) which adds schism… and schism fuses on your opp turn to make winda :)
