Hi! 6611sugarwax creator here and I just want to make it known AGAIN how much amazing talent you have… and how wel your portray information. They say the better you relay information the better you truly understand that information and the is why I trust you.
undercooked sugar is an easy fix, just continue cooking it. thatll make it firmer so u can flick it off. youve likely made a strip sugar so u removed it from the heat too early.
I made my sugar wax a few months ago when it was a lot cooler, it was fine then but now that it is hotter, I can’t use it anymore. Can I re-cook it to make it firmer? Or should I make a whole new batch?
Im so confused 🤦♀️i got my sugar to the PERFECT consistency. Tested it before transferring it to my container and everything… let it harden over night, used it today, and i was able to get 1 full flick off my legs before it turned sticky and goopy. Ended up having to put the wax on and use strips to get it to work. WHY?! Ive been making wax for about 2 months now, some batches are to soft some are to hard and that all comes along with learning how to make the perfect wax for yourself; i get it. But this time I literally had the perfect consistency before storing it, i did the: take it off the heat, sit on the counter n harden, AND the ice water methods, why after letting it cool and harden i go to use it in a larger quantity it turns to goop after just one flick/ strip?
your sugar is too soft which means you need something firmer, therefore even though u succeeded it making it its technically undercooked. this is a very easy fix however, because all u need to do is cook it a bit more to make it harder.
also you mentioned that you made it in a larger quantity so whatever you did the first time wont be exactly identical. based on the increase in volume it takes longer to cook when you have more bulk.
Hey girly! I know it’s been a while since I’ve been here. I just moved to TX! Nothing but heat over here! As you know I have course hair, therefore, firm sugar would be best for me. But being in cold air all day would firm sugar still be best or do I need to make some adjustments? Thanks for everything you do to help us out! It’s truly appreciated 🙏🏾♥️
So it seems that on my legs in particular I've had issues with the hair just breaking off instead of actually being plucked out in certain spots? Do you think it's something to do with the type of wax I'm using or maybe how I'm applying and removing it?
Ive had this issue before as well, and find that it’s most common when the hair isn’t being removed in the direction of growth. so Id recommend revaluating the hair in that/those areas experiencing breakage, as the pattern can change quite frequently. especially on legs.
Hi! There’s this problem I’ve ran into, when I’m trying to use strip wax it doesn’t seem to stick to the strip well enough to hold the hairs and pull them out. The consistency seems to be right, so I can’t put my finger on what exactly I’m doing wrong…
@@abetweene i can try to a bit later, but i’ve just thought - maybe I have a lot of water in the mixture so it’s not sticky enough? I think water would be what makes the sugar less sticky, right? (It actually hardened overnight once so i added some water and reheated a bit, i think maybe that’s where i went worng with it)

My wife’s sugar has the same consistency as yours, but when she goes to pull it’s almost too sticky and won’t peel back. Any suggestions? My back is getting sore with all the trial and error. 😂
did she make or purchase it? if homemade, it could be a bit undercooked. when theres too much liquid left in the mixture its cliser to a syrup than a paste causing it not to flick off.
@@abetweene she made it at home. We looked at a couple of her other videos and we think it is indeed undercooked. In the hands it looks good but as soon as it’s on it’s super sticky and doesn’t want to come off my skin. Thanks for the reply

I did the firm wax on my bikini area but I got really bad irritation once the hair started growing back(worse than shaving). Is there something I can do/use to prevent this from happening?
@@abetweene I didn't exfoliate right after. I just applied the witch hazel and aloe vera. I use one of those microfiber gloves to exfoliate. I was gently using the glove a few times a week.
ok. i’d recommend using an AHA or BHA for exfoliation. its possible that physical exfoliation can be irritating your skin. since microfiber is plastic, possibly even just a different material could be less irritating if you prefer physical vs chemical. also if youve been shaving, and are kinda new to waxing it’s not uncommon to get ingrowns initially because you’re removing the entire hair for the first time versus just cutting it off at the surface, so especially if your hair is coarse or curly it can easily get trapped during regrowth.
@@abetweeneUNDERSTOOD FOR TEH TIME BETWEEN TWO WAXING/ YES THE CONSISTENCY MORE BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN SUGAR SIMILAR AS CRYSTALS OTHERS MADE OF CANE OTHERS MADE OF BETROOT AND ALSO ICING SUGAR IS IT IMPORTANT ? I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE A BAD CHOICE
it depends what you’re using it for/how coarse your hair is and what the climate is where you live? this video will help you determine which one you need ruclips.net/video/tQSk1T0VVe0/видео.html
I live in a very hot place. No matter how hard I make my wax I always end with a syrup like substance on top of very hard or medium soft wax. Is there a way to fix this?
thats completely normal given the climate you live in. easy fix would be to store your sugar in a cooler location, so keeping it in the fridge would be warranted here.
I tried it 3 times but I think overcooking it as it becomes really hard(like stone) after cooling. [It happens because the color of sugar soln remain light however one in video is pretty dark while the pan is on stove] Could it be the reason I am making it on induction? What should be the cooking time?
yea, hard sugar definitely means its overcooked. dont rely on the color u can completely ignore it. id recommend following these cooking instructions ruclips.net/video/3qOzDFUPoFE/видео.html
hard sugar means its overcooked. reheating it wont help because itll take very high temperatures to actually soften it and of course our skin cant withstand that kind of heat.
My biggest questions are when do you switch to use more sugar? Or do you use one scoop of sugar wax for multiple areas? At what stage is the sugar not usable anymore?
I use one scoop (including on multiple areas) until the sugar stops working basically. at some point it either becomes too soft, too full of hair, or both to continue. then you can grab a new piece.
MY BUSSY IS REDDDDD but smooth

no, u dont have to reheat it. warming it above room temperature just makes it softer and some people prefer that.
Does using gloves help with gripping the wax when your hands are too warm
not really cause the warmth of your hand will still transfer with the glove. You can use an applicator/spatula instead though.
Can you skip lemon juice? What's it's purpose exactly?
no. its needed for a chemical reaction in the cooking process.
you can use apple cider vinegar or vinegar if you don’t have lemon
Hi! There’s this problem I’ve ran into, when I’m trying to use strip wax it doesn’t seem to stick to the strip well enough to hold the hairs and pull them out. The consistency seems to be right, so I can’t put my finger on what exactly I’m doing wrong…
i’m not sure from your description, by chance are you able to DM me video so I can see what you mean?
@@abetweene i can try to a bit later, but i’ve just thought - maybe I have a lot of water in the mixture so it’s not sticky enough? I think water would be what makes the sugar less sticky, right? (It actually hardened overnight once so i added some water and reheated a bit, i think maybe that’s where i went worng with it)
yup, thats the culprit!
@@abetweene ok, thank u so much!!💝💝💝

Can you use sugar wax to wax the head ? My partner has been looking for ways to remove their hair without shaving.
yes 👍
i bought some soft wax. if i were to put it in the refrigerator, would it become hard wax for a bit?
no. Itll be stiff because its cold but the minute u remove it from that cold environment or start to usenit itll revert to being soft again.
Where can I find these jars? Do you have a link or they can look for it under? Please
i actually just upcycle them from used groceries, so im pretty sure this was a jam jar. heres a link to something similar if you meed it amzn.to/3YaPI4h
@@abetweeneBut can we pour freshly prepared hot sugar wax into jam jars ? Is it heat proof ? Or should i heat the glass jar a bit to prevent temperature shock??
Coz ive been thinking of using jam jars coz they look cute to store sugar wax , but wasn’t sure. So im just using metal containers used for cooking. Kinldy reply
This was so helpful, thank you so much! 🤍
you’re welcome!
Is the sugar a harder consistency the more you cook it?
yes

I made one that was too soft for brazilian wax. I only realised it when i was already halfway in and had to stop 😂
Worked okay for my armpits and good on my arms tho. I'll have to make a harder one next time
you can also continue to cook it if ud like to make it firmer. 😉
@@abetweene oh really? Thanks! Maybe i can safe it 😂

@@abetweene Can you cook it using double boiler method? To avoid taking it out of the container and transfering it to pan..?
no, youd still need to decant it into an appropriate container.
My strip wax was perfect when made fresh but loses it's stickiness after sitting a period of time. Should I keep it in fridge?
you can if you’d like to.
@@abetweenehow do I store it , because I'm selling it
can you please share where you got the containers and popsicle stick (looks stainless steel?)!!
the jars where from groceries i used ip; best excuse to buy things in hlass containers so you can reuse them. The spatula i got online here amzn.to/3xULgZh
Can u tell me the temperature of each sugar paste u made in this video, I recently bought a thermometer to make sugar wax

I did the firm wax on my bikini area but I got really bad irritation once the hair started growing back(worse than shaving). Is there something I can do/use to prevent this from happening?
Yes. what’s your post care routine? which products do you use in the weeks following as your hair grows back?
@@abetweene I just exfoliate and then apply witch hazel
you exfoliate immediately after?
what type of exfoliator do u use (physical, chemical)?
do u have a regular routine (i.e. 1-2 times a week)?
How long can we store the sugar waxes for?
until u use it all
LET SAY THE SKIN WAS WAXED WITH SUGAR? HOW LONG TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ONE ? also FOR THE SUGAR IS IT IMPORTANT TO GET A SPECIFIC ONE ?
u can sugar again when your hair is long enough to remove (minimum 3/8”) by specific one do you mean type (soft, firm, hard)?
I have eczema and shaving is awful and was wondering your thoughts of sugaring?
i have mild eczema in some places and i love sugaring but youre the judge if itll be a good fit for u.
I shaved my legs almost two weeks ago is it okay to wax them or should I wait
u need about 1/4” of length minimum, so if the regrowth is long enough, u can go for it!
[It happens because the color of sugar soln remain light however one in video is pretty dark while the pan is on stove]
Could it be the reason I am making it on induction?
What should be the cooking time?
yea, hard sugar definitely means its overcooked. dont rely on the color u can completely ignore it. id recommend following these cooking instructions ruclips.net/video/3qOzDFUPoFE/видео.html
Can I use brown sugar?
yes
Does humidity not play a role?
Yes, its factored in with heat per 1:15
Hi I made these wax but I thank it come abit wathery ist not sticking in my hands .do I have to put it more to hit.thanks
yes, reheating would help as it sounds undercooked.
I made strip sugar and at first it was normal but when I kept in a jar it hardens
that means it was overcooked

So if I live in canada and it's winter but I have heat in my apartment I also have course hair dose that me I should make firm sugar?
yup, u got it!
Why does my sugar freeze after removing from heat?
Please reply
what do u mean by freeze?
It gets hard after removing from heat..why does this happen?
its suppose to firm up as it cools, but if its too firm or even rock hard, its overcooked.
Oh okay..thank you so much for responding!

How do you make it…I want to try it
tutorial’s linked in the description box 😉
@@abetweene thanks a bunch 🙂

Why does hard sugar to use it hot and burnt my skin off.🤦🏻♀️
hard sugar means its overcooked. reheating it wont help because itll take very high temperatures to actually soften it and of course our skin cant withstand that kind of heat.
@@abetweene thank you!
A waste of time... How long dobyou cook it for and how much liquid too add?
