Listen you changed my whole life! I learned to make sugar wax from your original 'sugar wax for beginners' video almost two years ago. I used to have the worrrrrst, most irritated, painful skin on my legs from shaving. I have a combination of very thick coarse hair with quick hair regrowth, along with extremely sensitive skin underneath. I tried every type razor I could, hair removal creams, skin treatments, etc, but nothing worked for me. My skin would always bleed, react poorly, look a whole red spotted mess... and it was so painful! My skin would just HURT constantly. When I was a teenager I went to the dermatologist to seek help because it was so bad, and the doctor said there was nothing I could about it- she suggested that shaving against the grain was my best option (my hair is wayy too thick for that to accomplish anything, however, and it was also still quite irritating to my sensitive skin). Girl, I wish she had suggested sugar waxing! All these years later my routine is so much easier, healthier, eco-friendly/sustainable, and pain-free 🧚♀️ (Also therapeutic- working with plant matter is always so nice.) Can't thank you enough, but- thank youuuuuu 🗣
youre so welcome! I love that you finally found a solution. I was suffering from shaving too. Sugaring saved me and im glad it saved you too. 💕
A whole red spotted mess!!! You stole the words right out of my heart!!! My legs no matter what have red spots, like a damn strawberry! Amlactin lotion helps somewhat as does sun exposure (in moderation, of course), but I'm sugaring soon! Soon as my hair grows back!!
I tried actual skin waxed, not practicing making it (in pan, color, heat etc) way overcooked both times - too hot to see hair through the wax and it hurt. I’ll pull skin taught next time. I did it really good a couple strokes tonight after cstarch tho. ☝️🤗🤗 I have ave been binging your vids since, you’re great at it. I also just exfoliated tonight and did not use corn starch at first - that’s been it totally worked like a charm. I’ll try again for sure. Thank you for your efforts, you are crushing the discouragement on earth here. Thank you for contributing to the world ♥️🙏And I welcome any feedback if you have any. Thank you!
I have this problem too but i still didnt find a solution 😢 can somebody link me the video? Pls
Congrats! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I started sugar waxing because of you and I don’t regret doing it I love it, never went back to a razor 😭
It’s painful man
@@EyeCandii22 you get use to it tbh
I use waxing warmer to make sugar wax. Took me way too long
@@ragnorockcookie2868 yea i feel you i just be using the microwave or the stove that works to
I have been watching you and your videos since you posted that DIY pedicure video you posted quite some time ago and I love this community you have grown here. I truly appreciate all your hard work, advice and the dedication you put into these videos. Thank you on behalf of all the people you have helped since you started here on RUclips! :)
tysm! and thank u for being apart of this community. i love and appreciate you all more than i could ever say💕
Wait what? I didn’t even notice this was the girl from the pedicure video until I read this comment. Really helpful video btw
Thanks
The water technique and " the color is not important " work wonders!!
After trying and failing for so many times I was able to get the soft firm ball consistency that I like .
Thank you ❤️
yw!
I’ve been sugaring ever since you posted the first series.. been a game changer ever sense.
I FREAKING DID IT!!!! I’m so proud of myself I could freaking cry. 😭😭😭😩😩😩. It’s been a long time thinking about it then actually trying to do it then failing. But today successfully not only made perfect wax but got my underarms and legs and chin waxed. I can’t wait to become a pro at this!
I did it properly first few times but I did it 3 more times and It failed!! I don’t get what I did wrong
What consistency did you use for underarms?
@@sublimegirl1 it depends on the thickness of the hair and the temperature of your body and the temperature of your environment
Congratulations!
@@_rotroTake a few notes as you prep to make it next time;
what temperature is it outside,
what's your heat/AC set to,
if your in the south what's the humidity level,
which burner are you using and at what temperature setting,
what was the temp of the sugar when it was the right consistency on dry skin?
Hope this helps
I have made three batches of sugar wax from the first videos I've watched from you. I'm still grateful I found you! Thank you so much ^^
yw!
I love using the testing method. Been using that since your first videos. Has never failed me once!
I actually right this second put my 300th attempt in a mason jar! Finally, after getting a spoon stuck in it when it cooled down. I’m so happy thank you
"The sugaring queen has returned" literally exactly what I thought when I saw this in my subscriptions!
She really does have all those areas covered. And shows you the proper way to pull the wax. Honestly I've only myself successfully under or overcooked the wax, but never give up on yourself. Especially when it comes to self-care. I'm an estheticianist. Waxing is what I do! Just not a good candy maker, magic girl says "we're making candy here". Love her watch all the videos and subscribe
tysm ☺️
i´ve realized that the more lemon you put (within the liquid amount required) 1. the darkest it will become, which doesn´t mean its actually done, it only means that that product will end darker, so 2. that´s something you can expect. The water method kinda helps to know if its ready or not, but it dilutes the mixture a little be and it´s not that accurate. betther to put a little drop in a cold surface and wait till it cools down and see the texture, if its hard to pick it at that time it will be hard to pick it and use later. i do this test while i have the hot sugar already in the container i will storage it in, if the test shows that it´s too hard i will add a little water to my sugar mixture and mix well, then try the cold surface method again til th consistency I need it. I hope it helps. I store it in the fridge always, otherwise I end with s syrup on top and a hard mass of sugar. if you keep it on the fridge i recommend to melt it a little before using it so it melts evenly. i use water bath method to melt it, you can use microwave aswell. (i live at sea level, in very hot climate, for reference)
This is like watching the scientific method in action & i am absolutely here for it
It worked!!! Yaaaas. Watched this video many times and it works!! 🙏💕 Cannot believe it, so satisfying!
I'm here just to thank you! 🎀😘 And I will continue watching your old and new videos! Much love from Serbia!
The one and only video that actually tells you how to make it . Im so greatful that I came across your reel . And i got your channel . Hands down you explain it like no other ✨
tysm 😊
Your timing is impeccable!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
i try!
Yeah. I want to start sugaring.
Following you for over two years and been calling you “Ab-tweenie” this whole time 🤣
Thank you for keeping me hairless and saving me a ton of 💰 you’re amazing 🙌🏾🙌🏾
lol you’re very welcome
Honestly, you are amazing. I tried to make sugar wax two years ago but it did not work. After watching your videos, I decided to try again. Let me tell you it worked. Finally!!!!!! . I love how you help us girls out here who are struggling with body hair. Thank you so much.
youre welcome sweetie
5:45 i came with the grandma method, you can put a seramic plate to the frezeer from the start, than you dont need to glass of water or waiting a minutes to cool it down on the side. we use this metod making jams. i usually but really small 2-3 plates to the frezeer.
You can also change the water for rose water from any Arab food store for luxury feeling and extra smooth skin. But, I tried your original recipe and it worked well even though bi didn't kneed it long enough I just used strips and it seriously don't hurt like other waxes. Great information
I love your videos!! I’ve been doing at-home manicures/pedicures and waxing for some time now ever since watching you videos!! 🙌🏾
I always make the perfect batch every single time thanks to you. You are a life saver 💕
my pleasure
Can you tell me how? Pls?
Thank you for everything A!!! And I mean EVERYTHING you bring us💛💛
my pleasure ♥️
Such a great video can't wait for the pt2
Tip: it´s better to over cook that under cook, you can always fix overcooked sugar in an easier way. Even if you have it already in the jar, just add water and do the test again till you get it. I Find it easier, as the hot bubblig sugar syrup stage gives me anxiety (a very painful burn is possible during this stage).
could you not just cook it more if its undercooked though? like could i not just put it back on the heat?
@@vicriosrn yes, you can. But you would have to put it back on the pan an you'll loose product in it.
yes you can. As long as the container is not made of metal or plastic, you can microwave the mixture in short intervals to continue the cooking process.
he estado siguiendo todos tus tips y estoy realmente agradecido 💖💖💖💖
im planning to start sugaring and i kinda came across lots of your videos and now im not only in love with your techniques but also in love with your voice. your voice is very soothing 💓
aww thank u so much ☺️
the queen uploaded again, I see
Your beauty videos have helped me so. Much lol love this!
Out of the options for acids, I think lemon juice is great. If you mess up, you still have a yummy treat! If it’s vinegar, it kinda sucks :/
I just found your channel and I can't wait to try this! I've had my eyebrows waxed but I want to try waxing my legs first!
I'm used to cooking sugar by making homemade marshmallows {sugar, water & corn syrup} let everyone know that clean up is So Easy! Most people see how sticky it is and don't want to clean up afterwards but let your utensils soak in the pot with water and clean up is faster than cooking it!
Honestly, for me the water test works impeccably! I always always always get the result I want.
great! glad u know what works well for u.
Thank you for updating us I had just been watching thru all your previous videos 🙌
my pleasure!
God bless you 🙏🏾 I am thankful for you already changing my life for the better.
I liked before I watched 😁 because I love your content and I know it will be good! Thanks girl! May God continue to bless you 🥰🌹
tysm! ♥️
About to give sugar wax a try! My sister highly recommends your videos! I am excited to try this!
good luck! 💕
I made this yesterday and didn't check the temp. I did let the color change to amber. It solidified into a rock when cooled, but I put it in the microwave for about 10 secs and it became malleable again. Worked pretty well!
Thank you for changing my life and helping me feel better in my skin
my pleasure 💕
Yesss boo!! I need to make a new batch!!! Today!! I will let you know how this goes!! Low key I feel I lucked up my first time!!!😩😩
good luck!
Yeah Sugaring Queen😍😍😍 You've really changed my sugaring game❤️
Thank you soooo much!! Hair removal has been such a pain for me, literally and figuratively. I've spent so much money on hair removal only to have it grow back in a fe days. I actually completely gave up and let the hair take over. I actually like it, but damnit! Sometimes I just want to be smooth like shark!
yw!
I created my sugar wax following your first video and it definitely worked. I appreciate it as where I live no one does sugaring and the videos I've followed before did not give me an accurate paste. I think working with smaller batches is definitely key and much easier to work with and less frustrating if you botch it!
Anyone have pointers on how to get a good grip on your labia when doing this? Haha
apply pressure, drag the skin, and hold. i stretch the skin at the bottom of the labia, kinda in the butt crease, since i pull up towards the tummy in this area.
I just got a candy thermometer and was thinking about going back to your old sugar waxing videos lol
Great video! Thank you so much!😁🥰 You have an incredibly soothing voice. ☺️
thank you! 😊
Okay I’ve had like five sugar waxing videos pop up I think I’m gonna finally try it!! Thanks 😊
yw!
Thankyou for this, you are SUCH an inspiration
you’re very welcome ♥️
I might try your tips as well as it seems that it works by many, thank you very much for sharing this with us! 😊

This video really helped me! I couldn’t get it and I was so frustrated till I watched this and tried it. Finally!!!!
glad it helped!
recording the temperature while taking samples - this is real true science and i love it
🧪 fa real
Yo!!!!! I've tried so many different ways to make this. Frustration to the max!! You really helped. This makes so much more sense and it actually works!
Y'all if you want a sugar wax making method that works... Try this! I'm telling you! All other videos are trash 💕
glad it helped and u finally succeeded 💕
I’m cryingggg I FINALLY DID IT!!! my 23rd try 😭😭😭 thank you so much
yw!
I've came across your sugar waxing vids in 2019, and guuuuuurl it's booomb. Ihad no trouble with recipe and sooo good that i've never went back to normal wax🙏Thank youuuuu soooo much🙏I can never thank you enough🙏🙏❤️❤️🥰
youre most welcome! 💕
I used hard wax today and it worked for my armpit
Quantity I used
8 tbsp sugar
2.5 tbsp lemon juice extracted little bit more so I used it you can only use 2 tbsp
2 tbsp water
Cook it
And keep checking drop in water
And knead
Tada wax is ready to use ✌
Oh my gosh! This was my third attempt at making sugar wax and this is the only method that worked! Kept making freaking caramel! Tested it on my arm to make sure I was at the right temp; it worked! Ended up doing my entire forearm with just the small bit left on my spoon after pouring/scraping the mixture into my storage! I’m so excited for it to cool enough (and my babies to go to bed) so I can do my whole legs!!! Thank you!!! Officially subscribed! 😁
thats awesome! youre welcome 💕
How do u store it?
in the pantry
Thank you for this video! Because of it, I'm finally able to get my sugar wax to turn out.
you’re welcome!
I am here to give my review. I did this for the first time today. In my household nobody really waxes they jut pluck or shave which im fed up of. Im a hairy female teenager which needed a way to remove hair without problem. As it was the first time i made it, it was kinda difficult but not as difficult as i thought. I really love it. Thank you for helping me with this problem of mine.
yw!
Ohhh I never clicked so fast. FINALLLYYY SUGARINGGGGGG OH YEAH!! 1ST BTW!!
Finally I made a sugar wax without making a candy!!! This method really works.. Thank you so much❤️
yw!
you are a godsend!!
It definitely worked. Watched yesterday came back today to comment and subscribe...the best part was it works on all hair. It was fun waxing my boyfriend😂😂

Former pastry chef here:
Your explanations are great! Cooking sugar can be really scary (justifiably as sugar burns ain't no joke), and you broke it down with simplicity and calm: fantastic! All this said, I question using powdered sugar for the caramel as powdered sugar contains cream of tartar. Have you actually used this? How did it affect the color, consistency, and adhesion?
yes, ive used powdered sugar. it works👍🏽
I really needed this video… Thank you!! 😘😘
youre welcome!
Thanks for the informative video. I want to start sugaring and this is great info to start with
youre welcome!
I did it!!!!! Again, lol. I took a break for a few years cause my results were too inconsistent and it was not worthwhile. But I did try testing it on the counter, like you suggested, instead of in the water, and I'm quite confident now. I have a list of things that happened if someone's interested:
1. I overcooked it a little as the test blob was a bit too hard for my liking. I added a tablespoon ish of water into the mixture while it was still very hot and stirred it (some time ago I made the mistake of putting way too much)
2. I put it in the fridge cause it's very hot and humid here rn, but it cooled down too much lol. A wax warmer did a really good job softening it up tho. I couldn't put it in a microwave cause my jar had metal wires around it.
3. The sugar came out light yellow/clear, and became literally white with use. I was used to a golden ish sugar before, but I switched up lemon with vinegar this time.
4. This is my main one. At first IT WASN'T STICKY AT ALL. I was about to be very disappointed BUT I kneaded it and had to really work it on my skin before it started to develope some stickyness. It was also very humid and my hands were sweaty so I had to do the whole thing inches away from my fan. Anyway the longer I worked with it the stickier it became, until I had to use strips or it wouldn't come off. It got to the point where even if I had a little sweat on my skin it would still adhere somewhat well and pull hair perfectly.
5. Putting the sugar in front of the fan also helped a lot with it sticking well.
Anyway, doing it in the summer is such a pain lol. I would step away from the fan one second and my hands will start to feel wet lol. But it was worth it. I tried using store bought wax but it's just a sad experience for me. I get very irritated skin, my hair is still there or broken. I can't use a razor without getting ingrowns and pimples, I even started shaving with the grain but it just looks bad tbh. I have very fair skin and dark hairs. But now I can't see that mixture of red and black dots anymore and I'm so happy!
Thanks for sharing this with us 😊💖
my pleasure!
Since your methods constantly change, I’d appreciate it if you made a video tying the whole series together if you could. I wrote everything down in my notes instead of going between old and new videos so it makes more sense. Thanks for making the tutorials and I’m super excited to try!! :)
sure
You are gifted at relaying information
Awww tysm 💕
I am so scared of hot waxing and you help a lot thanks gurlllll!💋
yw! always remember this doesnt have to be hot like regular wax, so let it cool overnight then use it the next day at room temperature and there’ll be no risk of burning yoursef ♥️
This helped so much, thank you!
you’re welcome!
❤ This EXACT "stage" testing method is used by dad and i for nobake-peanut butter homemade cookies! You have to have a perfect consistency for the cookies to harden while sitting. I still mess it up because ITS TOUGH to get juuuust right! And thats okay. Just keep trying! ❤ youll get it.
How is your timing so amazing
Thanks to you, I successfully made sugar wax that I can use without the need of strips! Thank you 💗
yw! 💕
This is a whole science!
yea
I feel dumb asking this, but I'm still learning how to simplify this part of the process. Is there any way to know how long the paste should remain at the desired cooking temperature? I've gotten better about not overcooking it as much, but I still feel like my process of making strip sugar is so tedious because I'm still constantly testing.
I've gotten better at the waxing part of the process, and I'm hoping the prep stages can also become more consistent. Thank you for presenting such well-articulated and still pretty information/images - I prefer sugar waxing over any other hair removal method. So glad I found you!
it doesnt need to remain at said temperature.
just document the temp right before you test, then when you have your desired results, use that temp u documented previously for future batches.
Okay nice timing sis 😂
Great! Very well explained ❤
Thank you!
Me getting prepared to wax my stash, arms, toes, legs let's GOOOOO 🦵
The globs look like jewels. 😍
i agree 😆 💎
Omg thank you SO much for this video.
Sugaring used to be a thing I literally dreaded getting into because of all the failed attempts, two years ago I tried every recipe from every video I could find. Including your five yr old one but I never seemed to succeed because my batches used to always end up overcooked (or undercooked and I’d end up w bruises from trying to remove the sticky sugar haha) I just never mastered it and I got fed up which ofc got on my nerves even more bc I’m an Arab and I should know how to make a perfect sugar paste LOL.
I literally followed your advice in this video just two hours ago in making my first batch in two years and oh my god am I filled with joy😭💗 I was so happy I didn’t even feel any pain haha!
Thank you so much 🥹🥹🥹
youre welcome! glad u finally got results 💕
The video to watch!!! Be patient and keep doing the dollop (spoon or counter) test. I have a candy thermometer and it showed my mixture was already in the soft ball stage but it wasn't done when I tested it so back to the flame it went. Waxed my legs and armpits🎉🎉🎉 I need to practice more with the actual waxing, but I was so happy to see hair on the blob of wax. It didn't hurt either! Thanks so much for this tutorial and sharing your tips ❤❤❤
yw! 💕
Didn’t know to add corn starch I watched a previous video from you and it was no corn starched used. Thanks for sharing💚
Yes actually, she did use cornstarch on her arm in replacement for baby powder in her previous video
@@t-pain1827 oh okay must be another video I will have to look for that because the one I’m talking about she used water lemon and sugar in the pot but thanks
The corn starch goes on the skin before sugaring... Not in the sugar recipe
the cornstarch isnt used in the sugar paste itself, just on the skin before waxing 👍🏽
@@soupsafe okay thanks
Just tried the recipe it worked BUT my skin is sadly wayy to sensitive for waxing (instantly went red and bumpy)… i really wanted it to work but shaving is the most comfortable hair removing technique for my skin.
Still going to share what i did, to make sugarwax to !use with cloth strips!
I used the recipe in the description and cooked it constantly on 6/7 for 18min.(my stovetop has heat levels from 1-9)
In the end the wax did not stick to my skin when cooled down, so i decide to heat it up slightly and use it with fabric strips. As I said worked out really well but it‘s just not suited for my skin.
Literally just waxed my legs from your strip wax videos, omg
timing 😌
Yes!!!! Sugaring is back!!!
You have come to my rescue 🥺🥺
game changer!!! Thank you!!!
yw!
Finally succes! Thank you.
you’re welcome!
this is SO helpful! I’ve made three batches today and they have either been undercooked or I made caramel 😅 is this your most up to date / tried and true approach to making hard sugar wax?
yes, it is most up to date and what i believe to be the most accurate way to achieve your desired results.
I'm so glad that this isn't expensive to make, because boy it has a learning curve. I made four batches of it. 1. was overcooked to the lollipop stage 2. usable but still too firm for my climate 3. Basically a syrup still 4. I tested this batch painstakingly but somehow still ended up being too firm. Oh well, I'm off to the store to buy some more lemon juice. I'm gonna get there eventually.
Tip: save your overcooked batches and just reheat them with some added water (1-3 tbsp depending how hard) to make them softer! doesn’t always work for hard carck/lollipop or burnt sugar, but will definitely help with that too firm stage!
The first time I did it was a fail (the color was honey like). The second one’s consistency was good. It can be used as a wax now😭 the second one has a clear color by the way and is far from the honey-like color, but it’s way better than the first.
Thank you for this! I think I actually made a good batch. I’m curious if I can use a thin layer of oil on the jar I store it in so it’ll scoop out easier?
yw! if ud like to u can.
Hereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee noti gang
Ok queen thank you I was able to make wax without any mistakes because of you ! New sub
👏👏👏
Hi! I'm from Indonesia 🇮🇩
It was my first attempt, and I'm so happy I finally managed to do sugar waxing at home 😆 At first, I was scared I might ruin the sugar, but in the end, it turned out perfectly just like yours in the video 🤩 Thank you so much for sharing this DIY, Abetweene! 🥰😘
yw! ♥️
I made the wax with your first video, my first batch was PERFECT. Like absolutely perfect. I’ve tried to make 2 batches since and they both are not thick enough. It’s very runny
that just means it needs to be cooked more. easy fix
thanks! i was able to make perfect sugar wax using your advice!
my pleasure; glad it helped!
I tried. I tried so hard. I made multiple batches. And every time all that happened is i got left with sugar all over my leg. I tried under cooking, over cooking, just right, temp method, cooling on spoon to see, cooling in water. All failed. I give up, ill just stick to shaving.
Im glad its working for everyone else, seems like itd be a much better option then actual wax!
perhaps premade would absolve cooking issues, or is application the issue?
Don't give up. My first 3 batches were candy before I saw her updated ones and 4th try was perfect for my bikini and armpit area. Testing immediately it's starts boiling worked for me.
Do you have any tips or techniques to get finer hairs? I’ve been watching a lot of your content (and I love it) on how to get the preferred texture of wax. I just have a hard time waxing off the finer hairs which are mostly 5mm at times. My armpit hairs are fine too, so I only ever manage to pull a couple of strands.
removing fine hair is really a matter of using the right paste so sugar thats very firm wont work. you need soft or strip sugar. Hair thats too short on the other hand is a matter of length because a minimum of 1/4” is required for the sugar to get a good grip.
Next you should go over how to store it and how long it lasts!!
Store it, sealed tightly, at room temperature: super low-maintenance. In my experience, it lasts for *months.*
