Since Tatum keeps being compared to Kobe, it has to be pointed out that when Kobe won all of his ships, he also had Shaq, who was another, if not more DOMINANT force that teams had to work against. Then he had teammates like Pau Gasol, Derek Fisher and Lamar Odem, who were never the best players, but had immaculate chemistry with Kobe. He had teammates who were willing, and he did get the absolute best that they had to offer. Theres also very certainly a coaching deficiency, however you want to spell that. In the end, Tatum can and likely will be better as time goes on, but he still has a lot personally to work on, and the Celtics need to fully invest in helping him the best way they can

Otherwise your words become empty and the pressure builds more and ore every time you play again. Ive seen this play out so many times with this ego-filled league. Players like Lebron and Tatum who call themselves the best, perfectly represents this past era of the NBA. Luckily, the NBA is bringing in a new era of basketball full of new superstars and competitive teams. Butler and Jokic are good examples of the new culture. They represent a different style of basketball with less ego, more team work, diligence, defense, and discipline. In other words, winning basketball. You dont call yourself the best when you havent even won anything yet. Its a hard lesson to be learned from this ego-filled league.

When KD was on the Warriors there was no 1a and 1b. KD was the 1 and everyone else simply came after. KD is the greatest warrior of all time.

All these flashy young offensive talents go to water, when they are marked up against an old school dog defender like Jimmy Butler. He would be a 15ppg avg player back in the day.

I think Tatum just is running into guys that are further along. He did with LeBron in 18, Giannis in 19, Butler in 20, Durant/Harden/Kyrie in 21, Curry in 22, and now 23. Which even if Jimmy doesn't get them Jokic will. All those players were more experienced and have more consistent superstars. Is he to blame, yeah for some of it, but its also the other guys he is going against. I think Mike is right he needs to be with another superstar. Brown is decent, Smart is okay, its how they have had success, still they are missing something.

How did I know the FIRST Celtics video in forever would be about whether their top player should be considered overrated. Smh, for all the Luka love videos, and his team didn’t even make the playoffs!!!
And if we’re going to talk disappointments on the Celtics, Brown’s been a ghost the whole Miami series and for most of this playoffs. Feels like the video should’ve at least been about what Boston needs to do to get over the hump

Man imagine how different KD’s career and legacy would be if won hat first finals with the Thunder. That Thunder team would probably stick together and win multiple more rings. I wish that was the case as that team was built from the ground up and to have a prime KD, Russ and Harden all going MVP level would have been a fun time.
