so happy to see you again .. hope you are both well . in my opinion , wearing a waistcoat with trousers is a fine statement of confidence. i work in a suit and tie job and started wearing just trousers and waistcoat during the summer a few years ago ( to look presentable but mainly to hide my entire back tattoos that would have been visible through white shirt ) , and was surprised at just how well received the look was . Thanks Guys for another good fashion advice vid .
A waistcoat without the jacket is an incomplete 3 piece, however its still acceptable to wear on its own, provided its to something that doesn't require you to wear a suit (i.e. a waistcoat isn't an acceptable replacement for a jacket). Nice video and welcome back. Missed your style conversations. Btw i used to wear a suit everyday for work and now haven't worn a suit or even a shirt for 3 months. Totally starting to miss it now.
The kind of waistcoat you are wearing is very nice. If it is good quality and part of a 3 pice suit I like it a lot. His patterned shirts I would be without tough, to much stuff going on. But a white shirt and a very nice waistcoat is a nice choice, jackets are manytimes to hot. Bring the jacket but leave it aside.
Morts & More No but it is a bit different. It works on you because you are into fashion, but if you want to be stylish but not come across as some one that wants to be the best dressed. Understatements works better for us normal guys, you can fly under the radar because people might think: - he's into fashion so he likes to push the boundaries. We normal guys need to be stylish in the longrun, in an uneffortless but not boring way. The waistcoat is much better than those tiebar things, and it makes shirts the undergarment it was ment to be. The white in the shirt complements the checkers in the waistcoat and it maries nicly togheter, looks stylish but effortless. Pattern shirts is ok if they are in the normal range, could stretch to doted but thats it, no paisly stuff.
Is it possible to wear a waistcoat that doesn't match the trousers? I know it is better to match the two, but I'd like to hear your opinion. Also do tuxedo trousers have to match the jacket. For instance, black tux pants with a burgundy jacket
In an environment where no one is wearing a suit but you want to dress up a little, I like to ditch the jacket and just put on the waistcoat .. since I almost exclusively wear double breasted jackets I actually wear the waistcoat only without a jacket while I think about it 😄
I love wearing a stand-alone waistcoat in the summer. I wear it with a tie, without a jacket of blazer. I love the look, it is an alternative to wearing a blazer, but still takes your outfit up a notch. I have never worn it with a t-shirt, and I would not wear it to work, unless your office is less rigid about dress code. I agree. This look is not good for an interview, or big meeting. There is a reason why they call it a “power suit”
Hello. I think there is a differents between a waistcoat with a matching fabric or a odd waistcoat. One with a matching fabric looks like an incomplete suit. But a odd waistcoat can look very nice without an jacket. But the guy in the hot climate should try an unlined jacket with an opened weave. Sometimes they are more like a second shirt an less warm than an thick waistcoat.
The waistcoat is definitely a statement piece. I don't see wearing one without a jacket as an incomplete look though. But of course, it depends where and how
I actually disagree on this one 🙂 I do wear a waistcoat without a jacket from time to time. I think it really just depends on the situation, the combination and as well the waistcoat itself. I will often wear my odd waistcoat (linen, cotton and silk blend) with “casual” linen or cotton trousers, a casual shirt with a button down collar and a loafer style shoe 👍 hehe and don’t hate me.. I even will wear it unbuttoned! 😂😅

Thank you, I like your thinking. I dont mind a patterned shirt if the waistcoat is plain though.
