As a big guy myself being Under 5”10 and built pretty stout I find that having the suit jacket cut a little longer really helps lean up the profile, also padded shoulders and pleated high waisted trousers are the best bet for either single or double breasted Suits. As a big guy I also don’t like my suits cut so close to the body either. Think 80’s 90’s style cut suits for deciding what looks best on a heftier guy.

I have a similar body style and have tried tucking in (not food, that’s a given) and it doesn’t look better, as a matter of fact, look at your belt. It is dipped down in front and looks sloppy. Your trouser pockets are pulling from your crotch. The light colored shirt doesn’t help. There is no easy solution but I would say to wear a heavier weight fabric, darker shirt. I’m going to experiment with higher waisted pants. I hope I wasn’t out of line.

No, I would not advise that option. You want to make sure that your suit present balance.
If you are big up top then take it in at your bottom it will not balance the look of your suit. You do not have to have baggy or too full in trousers, however, you want to be balanced and comfortable. Additionally, unlike women clothing most men's suit are 100% wool.whereas women clothing normally has Lycra in the it.
When you wear tight fitting trousers you run the risk premature wear in the thighs and crotch area as the fabric is being pulled. Additionally, moisture can be present do to the fabric being so close to the skin.
There are some men suit and wools that have a little bit of Lycra in the it, however not enough to make a difference.

Here is another free one for big guys. You want make sure that you have longer rise in your trousers in addition to wearing with with bracers. You trousers will drap better and will stay put all day. If you have a belly it will always push your trousers below it with a belt.

I've always looked terrible in suits. The pants are always fitted way too high and it just accentuates the pear shape. Every tailor I've ever been to has put me in a suit that gives me the most unflattering profile and shape. I have always dreaded wearing a suit, yet I've always wanted to. I'm tired of hoodies and long jackets.
I'm not on TV, but I'd gladly send some photos of me wearing my suit and looking sharp. I'm 350lbs by the way.
I haven't had to dress up in years. My wife must think like I made covenant with a man now he's a walrus. There must be a way out on a technicality.
