    Recently I have started playing around with wearing ties occasionally as an accessory to outfits and I’ve found them to be a really nice addition. Ties may be falling out of favour with some people but they are a timeless piece that still look great.

    So smart I would take any man seriously who wears a tie, it’s respect not only for himself, but to others a nice shirt, a fancy tie, a bespoke suit, and creed aftershave, there you have it

    I agree totally the tie completes the look and makes you look more put together. I believe people are going tieless because the worlds becoming so casual it’s almost cool to not be well dressed so being tieless creates the casual look some people are looking for for such reasons and I believe ties really bring out the best in a suit and makes a suit look 100% better than it would’ve looked without most suits are a blank canvas without a suit and pocket square but with everything you still have to be well dressed and have a eye for good taste I know a lot of people that wear a suit and tie but the tie looks terrible and doesn’t match the suit at all and completely ruins the look and makes them look rather instead like they’re wearing a suit and tie from a lost and found so another reason could be if you don’t have a eye for taste some people would go without because it doesn’t make the suit look as bad and for some they might be thinking of saving money and it allows people that can’t dress to think less that’s why personally when I hear people say ties shouldn’t be worn as they don’t look good i immediately know they can’t dress but that’s just my take😅

      @@AskOkeyInc because there has been a massive decline since the 60s which brought down respectability not dressing well manners you name it just watch at 1950s tv show and see if you even hear swearing or sex or anything of the kind it became cool to rebel it became cool to cause problems and really it’s Stick from the generations since it not to mention the music most people consume you see there’s two types of people one that listens to gangster rap because it sounds good and the other that listens to and is influenced enough to act on what the person singing/rapping is talking about unfortunately most of the populace has turned into the latter and just about everything Hollywood pumps out they do or at least want to aspire to do so you realise respectability becomes frowned upon. Unfortunately most people I realised especially the black community doesn’t have a lot of role models that’s why we suffer the most I go to all the high end places and you’re lucky if you see a black person.. problem is everything seen as respectable for black people is seen as “acting white” you talk with manners and have a vast vocabulary “you’re trying to act white” you dress well “trying to act white” and I’m always amazed why everything bad is associated with black it’s like half of them don’t even know what they’re really saying.. that’s why it’s amazing to see a black individual like you who’s changing the narrative and giving young people to look up to because just watch a few shaving videos and you will see how much young people are praising the man in the video for teaching something there parents didn’t believe me you have a impact and I’m delighted it’s a good one

    Hello. Thanks for answering my previous questions. Just a follow up question. Is a fresco suit considered a casual suit, or is it a business suit for warmer weather? What ties would you wear with a fresco suit?

    • @AskOkeyInc
      @AskOkeyInc  Год назад

      Of course Chris. Fresco while appropriate as a business suit would fall left of plain worsted on the dressy spectrum. So yes, it is more casual than a plain worsted but also a substitute for plain worsted in warmer weather or tropical climates.
      I would wear a textured tie for harmony with the textured surface of fresco. A plain silk tie would also be just fine in a pinch.

    Always great to see Okey's unique and elegant outfit combinations in the videos. Also great to see the AskOkey products in extended videos to see how they move in real life and to see from different angles. Do you have an approach for choosing a jacket style for one's first purchase? Planning to order this week, at the very least, a pair of classic trousers (probably in white 380gr linen to go with a white and blue herringbone wool-linen DB jacket I own) once I get my measurements taken. That shirt collar looks really excellent on you btw. I might have to add that to my cart to try it.

      Good evening Sir Mighty Kam 😁
      Regarding Jacket Style, I believe you’ve been in contact with Tim. Tim is a GEM and has a wealth of knowledge. However if you insist on my opinion, I would say a Navy Blazer is a sine-qua-non. Can’t go wrong as your first AskOkey Coat.
      Now coming to trousers, a white linen pair would be very limiting unless you intend it for a specific purpose. If your goal is versatility, then it doesn’t get much better than a pair of medium gray fresco trousers.
      Please consider Tim’s advice. I hold him in very high regard when it comes to good taste and choice of dress.
      PROFF

    • @ruliadultra
      @ruliadultra Год назад +1

      @@AskOkeyInc Thanks Okey. The navy blazer was what I was already thinking and even considering a full suit in. My question was more about the jacket style, so 3-roll vs SB vs DB. You have very a compelling design in each style so I wondered what you would select for a first style since you wear them all? As for fresco/high-twist trousers I already have those. I have both medium grey (trousers) and light grey (suit) from "Spring 4-PLY" cloth by VBC in 410 g/m. This cloth drapes and performs phenomenally in my experience. I am really enjoying wearing them this summer and am currently so satisfied that I don't know if I would even consider another brand of high-twist. So yes the white linen is a very specific choice but I understand how it will fit well with my existing wardrobe. It is actually a good candidate for bespoke since it is an uncommon thing to find otherwise, especially in the robust linen from Dugdale's Heirloom bunch.

    • @AskOkeyInc
      @AskOkeyInc  Год назад +1

      @@ruliadultra Good Morning Mighty Kam. In that case here’s my thinking
      1. Coat: If you’re going for a TRUE BLAZER in Navy, there’s nothing more striking and unique out there than our AskOkey DB CUT. Indeed our 3-roll-2 is brilliant and a true CLASSIC. But the DB is more STRIKING. So it depends on what you’re going for. SUBTLE vs. STRIKING. I personally prefer the DB for a STATEMENT Blazer.
      NB: If I were you, I’d have this made up as a suit to make it more versatile. However the choice of cloth would have to be a SUITING and not a JACKETING. Think Sturdy Hopsack vs. Mock Leno. Tim can guide you here with choice.
      2. Trousers: I now understand where you’re coming from. In fact we just made our customer from Italy 🇮🇹 Simone a pair of Pristine White Linen Trousers from DUGDALE’s Lisburn Linen bunch and he loves them. So if you’re determined on White Linen for your first pair of trousers, can’t go wrong.

      Depends on the fabric of the bd shirt. If it’s an oxford cloth (a little more textured) you should pair it with a textured and less formal tie like for example a knitted tie. If it’s a dress shirt with a bd collar and you wear it with a regular suit you can treat it the same as you would a regular dress shirt. It’s all dependent on the entirety of the outfit.
