I know! Was reaching up onto the shelves... and then the jacket never reseated. Generally, the gap has been fine on this jacket.

The silk ties I purchased in the last century have the smoothest, softest, silky finish imaginable. The weave (if weave it is) is so small, so fine, that it almost cannot be seen at all with a magnifying glass. But all the modern "100% silk" ties sold today that I've been able to find have a feel, a texture, that is rough in comparison. How can I find those fine old-style silk ties?

Dear Kirby, I have a question about garment care, as you help the well dressed not only acquire, but also care for their wardrobe 😉
Let's say I'm having lunch at work and someone spills something on my worsted wool suit trousers or maybe I'm walking down the street and something falls onto me that could stain the jacket.
What are some of the first steps I should take to avoid any permanent damage to the garment? I'm trying to take great care of my wool suits in particular, but sometimes we can't prevent some accidents. I want to be ready to act and know how to save my wardrobe pieces!
Thank you for the inspiration you give me to dress well and always strive for quality!

Can you apply paint on a piece of jacquard? If so, what type of paint material (e.g., guache, acrylic, etc.) should be used? Thanks.

Do you mean between the lapel and the shirt collar? I don't see a gap.
Or do you mean at the back of the jacket at the neck?

Excuse me sir if you don't mind quickly helping me out with answering a fast question I would very much appreciate it. What is your opinion on White brogue Derby's or oxfords? Would you agree they are able to be worn whenever the spectator or white sneaker is acceptable? I just bought a pair of White Allen Edmond's full brogue wingtips with black soles and laces, and cant find much of any information on when It is acceptable to wear, so for now am going off the consensus that they are acceptable whenever spectators or white sneakers are acceptable. Please if you or anyone could give me some feedback and or a video to watch, I would be really thankful.

you do not understand the meaning of 'silk types'. it refers to the material. and different silks are: different fibers or origin of the tie: worms, spiders etc.
not weave, not painted/jacquards, because those are tie types, not silk types

I wouldn't wear the Guards, or any regimental tie in the UK, it tends not to be appreciated.
