I have a series x and I'm thinking of getting a series s for a diffrent space I heard the s is getting a patch that let's you convert a physical game to a digital. I'm jot a fan of digital only but if I can transfer my games to digital that let's me keep my physical stuff
The one that the guy has in the vídeo, an Oddysey G5 that is supposed to take all series s can offer 1440p 120hz, I have one, and it does make a difference on those games that can offer one off these features
@@Roofinqshow much did that cost? Bearing in mind the series X console is £450. A £1000+ display is insanity to play fortnight and rocket league and other freemium games with basic graphics at 4k 120hz. Big titles run at 1440p and even 1080p to get 120hz. For the X go 1440p @ 144hz monitor or 4k 60hz tv. Anything above that is wasted features you can’t use. Unless you had a large wall to fill with a 60” or more telly and it happened to come with hdmi 2.1. I hope you didn’t prioritise for it 😱
The only reason why I am thinking seriously on this is because I am doing more cloud gaming now with Game Pass. I think sooner rather than later we will be able to play directly from the cloud with our Game Pass instead of having to run it through a web browser. If I can store my games in the cloud and just pull the ones I need directly into onboard storage for the Series S then the 400 or so GB left over after operating system will be enough for most games. My only question is how big Harry Potter or Starfield will be. Those are the two main games I will be using the S for.

That should be it , set console to 4K 120 hz as you have already. Then there are some games that have graphic settings that you can change - Overwatch 2 has 3 settings in game. Other games like Modern Warfare 2 don’t have settings ingame and automaticy set to 120 hz if it’s available.

@@Reesesotg In the monitor its a refresh rate counter, monitor cant really tell what frame rate input it is receiving. For example, if you enable variable refresh rate in the xbox, the number reading on your monitor should change as the refresh rate changes dynamically (to match the game fps). You've probably figured this out by now, but just wanted to mention it anyways.
There is no DLSS for consoles yet. Also DLSS is exclusive to Nvidia GPUs so consoles will most likely get FSR from AMD which, at the moment, isn't as good but it will improve over time.
DLSS only works on certain Nvidia graphics cards, they most likely will add FSR 2.0 at some points which will provide a big improvement on performance, the best is yet to come for this generation of consoles.
Imo the series S is a 1080p 120hz console with 1440p capability. The series X is a 1440p 120hz console with a monitor and has 4k 60hz capability with a tv. I’d recommend getting a 24” 1080p 144hz monitor, anything above that is a waste of money as you can’t utilise it.

@@Zombie101 problem using a 4k monitor and downscaling to 1440p is the picture looks squished. 4k 144hz is driving 8.3 million pixels. Exactly 4x the amount of a 1080p. ( I suspect these consoles use upscaled 1080p for their “4k”. ) 1440p is 3.5 million pixels. Exactly 4x the amount of 720p. It’s just the price that I cannot justify 4k 14fhz monitors. They cost nearly twice that of the console. 1440p costs less than the console and that makes sense. That’s why I’d target for this. I’m well aware of “marketing” and grand claims which were untrue of console capabilities of the past. These are……in reality 1440p consoles. Even though it’s less pixels, the pixel density of a 27” monitor is better than a 50” 4k so it’ll visually appear just as good. Why buy a display better than the machine, that’s driving that display. It’s like buying a low-end basic model car and putting genuine Ferrari badges on it.

If you turn on the controller, the game only accept the controller to play. I want that you understand what I scribbing lol. You don't need to keep the controller on. I think if you want 60 fps on 1440p and 1080 120 this is a very good console, because 1440p 120hz looks absolutely terrible in most games. So if you want that, the xbox series s is my advise.

My biggest gripe with 120hz gaming is that A. Not enough games are optimized on these new consoles (or any in history) for it to matter, to me. B. 120hz TV panels to say the least, are not cheap, that is for me. C. I love playing on 70+ inch Televisions, sure its mostly in fact due to my movie viewing addiction (lol) but seriously if a brand namely LG/Samsung/Sony would introduce "cheap" panels 120hz that is, that way sure they may go out in 1 or even at most 2 years but you suck people in and get them obsessed with the new feature. and people get smart and save for expensive ones and bam, you have me in the audience. Whereas now we have 60hz panels that myself included are stuck with because entry/budget tv's don't offer anything more.
Depends!? If you already had a 4k 60hz tv the X @ £450 made sense. If you had a 1080p 60hz+ tv the S @£300 made sense. 1440p 144 hz monitors at the time of release where another £300-£400 on top. (Now they’re £250 - £300) And a 4k 120hz tv was £1500+ . 😂 Even now, for the S it is really a 1080p 120hz console or 1440p 60hz. A 24” 1080p (optimum size) monitor is like £160. 27” 1440p 60hz (optimum size) monitor is like £230. A decent display screen and an S cost as much as an X.

I think the series S is a 1080p console, try dropping to that and 120hz is probably doable.
