As a retired C-130 pilot, I have had the honor of flying several 'angel flights'. The C-130 Hercules aircraft featured in this video is most often the first aircraft that fallen soldiers are transported on out of the war zone on their long journey home. These flights are given the highest priority and all other aircraft are instructed to stop and wait for an 'angel flight'. It is strikingly coincidental that a 'flare salvo' from a C-130 resembles an angels wings. God speed home to all of my fellow brothers and sisters deployed in harms way.
Say a prayer for the fallen, now toast to their glory. Raise those glasses, raise em high, point them towards the sky, now turn upside down and drink em dry. Cherish the brotherhood and always remember we will be united in Valhalla.

I wanted to add that I have heard thru the grapevine that No matter where Angel Flight will always be the first to land,, even if Air Force one is coming in at the same time they will have to wait...WOW
I'm surprised no one has said this already in the chat, but angle flights have #1 priority at all USA airports, even air force 1 has to wait if a angel flight is landing at the same airport at the same time the President is wanting to land.
I wanna say right after high school I had a buddy who's dad did contract work in the middle east. I was at his house one night...my friends mom was talking to her husband who was in the middle east...in the middle of the conversation the call got cut off because of an an angel flight
The one thing alot of people don't know, an Angel Flight has priority over all flights, it's has priority landing and take off, it trumps Air Force One in take off and landing.
i am so glad i have never had someone who had to be brought home by angel flight as of yet. but with a family rich in military service and a niece in active duty army and a nephew in army reserves, it could only be a matter of time, though hopefully not the one's i'm closest to.
My brother in law would like that song. He worked on C-130s all his life in the marines but now works on the AH-1Z Vipers which they always call Bell some reason.
I think you have a big enough library now to put together a gets to you in a good way playlist for when you want to be somber and have a drink and take it all in.

PO2 Marc Lee was the first SEAL killed in Ramadi Iraq on August 2, 2006. Marc was killed when he exposed himself to lay down covering fire with his machinegun to protect his teammates behind him, as they were taking withering gunfire from an adjacent building. Marc Lee received the Silver Star for his actions that day in what was arguably the most dangerous city in the world at that time, a city where acts of bravery like this by the young men and women fighting there were all too common. When PO2 Marc Lee was flown from Dover into San Diego, an all common, but under-discussed event occurred. All flights stopped. All activity in the airport ceased. The passengers and staff were told that the first SEAL to give his life in the Iraq War was returning home. The windows of the terminals overlooking the tarmac were filled with thousands of silent onlookers, taking by a moment to honour a brave man who gave all. This became almost too common throughout the GWOT. It happened far too often, but if anything can be gleaned from it, it is faith that there are good people in this world, who know what needs to be done and have the backs of rough men and women who will go do it. To those who gave all 🥃
My wife was on one of those civilian flights. Apparently, some dude on the flight wasn't paying attention to the announcements from the flight deck on it, and was yammering on a cell phone while they unloaded the fallen hero. He was standing up, talking on his phone, rummaging through the overhead compartment when some dude in his 30s with real short hair appeared at his seat, and advised him to "shut the f up or take a beatdown." Dude immediately STFU'd. My wife said she didn't think he was being intentionally disrespectful, she said the guy told the short-haired dude he didn't hear the announcement and gave a genuine apology.
I only know Radney from the one hit he had in the early 90's called 'Nobody Wins' and never heard much from him again except from covers of his songs by other artists and I never heard this song before today. This song sounds better than his earlier stuff that was in a style of country music that was already waning when it was released and no doubt is why he never charted again. It didn't help that he didn't look like a country singer and looked more like a James Spader yuppie type looks and those glasses which probably didn't help either. Country music sales are primarily driven by 30 something white suburban women who prefer macho manly men singing their country music. It's what turns them on. They are the reason for why 'Bro' country became so popular. They are also why so many female country singers wrongly blame disc jockey misogyny for their lack of heavy rotation on country radio. It's a sad fact that he might have done better had he ditched the eyewear. Though not so rugged as others, Kenny Chesney, and even though he is as blind as a bat, you never see him wearing glasses (and also explains why he always appears to be squinting). But that is just my opinion for why Radney didn't do as well as lesser talents like say that poser Billy Ray Cyrus.

Darius Rucker sings backup on this
Wow. I have never heard that before. That hits hard.
Sure does. - Keith
Love Radney Foster.
Every time I hear this song I cry every time
yeah, seems to be common. - Keith
Wow!!! This hits hard! My Son-in- Law is in the Navy 💙
Definitely hits hard. - Keith
I live near Alliance Airport in Fort Worth. Their air shows are spectacular.
Glad you guys enjoyed the Bourdon, that bourbon is the perfect for that song, it hits you in the feels
Agreed -Dustin
@@BourbonCountryReacts welcome to Texas Bourbon, everything is better in Texas as you can tell from the bourbons you have tasted so far.
The one thing alot of people don't know, an Angel Flight has priority over all flights, it's has priority landing and take off, it trumps Air Force One in take off and landing.
I got multiple damns from Dustin those damn onions and dust, it hit hard. If you get multiple damns from Dustin it's a tear jerker
That's actually a pretty good measure. - Keith
Told you you would love the honeydew
Only infused bourbon I've ever liked. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts glad you enjoyed it, I sent another bottle along with another wow bottle that Dustin can't pronounce. Enjoy brother
What a great song.
i am so glad i have never had someone who had to be brought home by angel flight as of yet. but with a family rich in military service and a niece in active duty army and a nephew in army reserves, it could only be a matter of time, though hopefully not the one's i'm closest to.
Made me cry too !!
This song hits. - Keith
Awesome song but definitely hits the feels
Yes, yes it does. - Keith
My brother in law would like that song. He worked on C-130s all his life in the marines but now works on the AH-1Z Vipers which they always call Bell some reason.
Friggin' cobra drivers used to intentionally rain hot 20mm brass on our heads. - Keith
Dang it Keith those onions are strong hit me all the way here in Cuba Missouri. Right in my kitchen ugggg
Powerful onions. - Keith
I think you have a big enough library now to put together a gets to you in a good way playlist for when you want to be somber and have a drink and take it all in.
Dude, that's a great idea. - Keith
Angel Flights have priority on take-off and landing, even over Air Force One.
😢First time hearing this one for me too. I cried. If I hear it one more time I'll be a puddley mess. Wow! Radney Foster, haven't heard from him in over a decade.
So don't send you pear infused bourbon? I didn't like it but next time I'm at a liquor store I was gonna grab a bottle.
We generally don't like infused things. This was a surprising exception. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts That's big no lol
I better have an open invitation if I ever visit Indiana
I must be the official bourbon supplier 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
The Angel Flights are still going to pick up service men from different eras of time in places we were in conflict with, you think about it some are being returned to us decades later
When you are ready for your next patriotic song, here is another of one of my favorites - "Best Patriotic Song - Mr Red White and Blue - Coffey Anderson (on iTunes)" bycoffeysouthernman
There is a song by Randy Houser, called Power of a Song, which literally talks about how a song can move a person better than almost any other medium. You guys should give it a listen.
Added it to the list -Dustin
hope you got the official video on this one!
*dustin mentions the name of the video* YES! it's the official video!
*video starts* well not the official video but close enough!
"Onion warning"... you really need to listen to "Teddy Bear's Last Ride" by Red Sobine. It's another story/ song without singing. Wonderful song about the big hearts of truckers.
Omg gnomies are so cute!
Deborah sent us those. We love 'em. - Keith
Welcome home. 2,700,000 times.
You really should listen and watch the original Angel Flight
He was standing up, talking on his phone, rummaging through the overhead compartment when some dude in his 30s with real short hair appeared at his seat, and advised him to "shut the f up or take a beatdown."
Dude immediately STFU'd. My wife said she didn't think he was being intentionally disrespectful, she said the guy told the short-haired dude he didn't hear the announcement and gave a genuine apology.
Radney Foster hasn't done many songs,he is a song writer..
I think this is the first song that really hit Dustin
I have watched this and I have seen Keith get emotional before. But this is the first time I have seen Dustin actually get emotional
He has definitely before. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts yeah there is video proof now lol
@@BourbonCountryReacts ok brought actually tears and choked him up talking too
I only know Radney from the one hit he had in the early 90's called 'Nobody Wins' and never heard much from him again except from covers of his songs by other artists and I never heard this song before today.
