    I was once on a Delta Airlines plane bringing a fallen hero to Atlanta. When we landed, the pilot said, "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a VIP on board--a fallen military hero. Please wait to deplane until his casket has been offloaded. If you have a tight connection, rest assured the airline knows you are here and will hold the plane for you." The cabin was so quiet during that time that one could have heard a pin drop.

      Thank you for the compassion & respect you & your fellow passengers showed to this fallen soldier. That is the way it should be Unlike the plane where the passengers were in an uproar over the delay. I was enraged & saddened when I saw it on the news. I would have been honored to have been part of this heros last flight especially knowing his sacrifice was for me to live the life I do. Shameful.

They have my utmost respect for doing a very emotionally difficult job and doing with the highest honor and care. To me, they are unsung heroes, along with the men and women who work graves registration and burial duty. The toll it can take on them, mentally and emotionally can be overwhelming and they truly don't get the credit they deserve.

The one thing I really do respect is when a soldier is assigned to be with one of his fellow comrades who has died they never leave them until they are buried and they are also there for the families to. You have to respect a soldier that is willing to be there for their fallen comrades because they don't do it just once they see family after family and the hurt that is in their eyes. • @julieenslow5915
    @julieenslow5915 3 года назад +3

    The chaff is out of context here. They don't do that to make the flight look like an angel. That is (obviously) in case they are fired upon - so that they can evade live fire directed at the plane. However, it is the same plane used for the Angel Flights, and it is also used to transport troops (live ones), the plane itself is big, so the chaff used is large and puts out a beautiful pattern. The song is amazing, and the job of returning remains back home is taken extremely seriously. The casket will have an escort whose job it is to see the fallen soldier/sailor/marine or coast guardsman to his family, to then smooth out red tape and see him/her to the grave.

    Tomorrow is Veterans Day May 31, 2021 in the US and I would be honored if you can play this video to all the veterans all around the world " homeless musicians put Florida and Georgia line to shame which they have such talent and can't believe he's homeless .

    Haven't heard much out of Radney Foster for years. Another song that almost brings you to tears. I believe the Country Music singers are the most patriotic of all types of singers. Guess I'll look up when he did this song.

    I would like to recommend to anyone who might be interested in how a hero is taken care of once he or she is brought home after the Angel Flight has landed … please watch the movie Taking Chance … it’s a true story. Thank you to all of our US Airmen, Marines, Sailors, Soldiers and Guardsmen and for those who lost their loved ones, may your memories bring you comfort and God grant you peace. My Uncle never made it home…he was KIA on 10/2/44 and is buried in The Netherlands. He was with the 82nd Airborne and was also part of D-Day. God bless to all ☺️

    That’s Darius Rucker singing backup. The story is that when Radney Foster approached him about the possibility of collaboration on this song he sent him a demo. Darius answered back” I would love to do this with you, as long as I can stop crying.”

    I had the privilige of being a civilian on an Angel Flight because a friend of mine made it possible. He requested that i get clearance for that because i knew some guys on that flight. We took of from Ramstein. Not a single word was spoken that entire flight, we all just payed our silent respect to the fallen heroes. Stepping on that plane was hard but easy compared to leaving it. Seeing families standing there wating for their fallen. Sure the women hit hard but the hardest hit was seeing the children there waiting for their das/mums coming home a heroes but not alive.

    If you have flown in the USA from 2001 to now, you have been part of Angel Flight. I flew to California years ago, and we were part of Angel Flight. The family was let out first. I sat in my seat and sent love and healing light.

    As an active duty Master Sergeant, I volunteered to represent our country at funerals for the fallen. My team and I were dressed impeccably, and treated the occasion with the respect and gravitas it deserved. To this day, the proudest moments of my thirty year career.

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE your accent! Every time I watch this, I get chills! This video tears at your heartstrings while watching it. There are only 2 places I would love to visit and they are England and Scotland. I had no idea Chef Ramsey's family is from Scotland.
    If you want to watch another great video, watch 'American Soldier' by Toby Keith, here on YT. I lost it when the little boy gives his father a salute when he is boarding the transport flight to go fight. His 'Courtesy of the Red White and Blue' is another fabulous song.
