Oh wow! I thought that you had a deal that they are blocking off areas for you to film. Now it’s even more of a thing to look forward to if it’s that empty.
Wow! As an aging car racer and retiring architect, I could not have asked visually for more than what you have provided. You have shown to me a complete validation of my two greatest passions. Thank You!
Since they had a focused Opel collection. If you noticed the Opel Ascona in a wall unit, i thought i saw an Opel Manta as well. The Ascona is like the Chevy Nova and the Manta like the Camaro. Both were built on the same chassis. One sportier, the other a family car. Whats interesting is this chassis is also the same chassis used under the Chevy Chevette. I built multiple Manta's while stationed in Germany. They were extremely fun, especially on the autobahn. What a great video, thanks!
A collection that everyone else in the world can only dream of. Next time when I'm on that side of the pond I'll have to mak a visit. Thanks for sharing and the amazing videography as always.
I am fortunate to live only about seven kilometers from this remarkable collection and exhibition. I'll be there for the third time soon. With every visit you see and find new details! Simply breathtaking!
@@Chillymac1970 It was excellent but I wish I had another few days to do some of the things I missed, like this. Guess I’ll have to go back another time.
Mike, I got to ride along in a 412p last year and its absolutely as rad as youd think it would be. Thanks for this awesome peak into this collection. Let me know if youd like to work on something together. Cheers man
I’ve heard of the place but have never seen a tour. Simply astonishing. The reverent filmmaking combined with the industrial, almost steampunk backdrop for all those cars is magnificent.
I saw you guys in the museum when you were there, but didn’t want to interrupt since you were just getting your tour. Was great seeing you in person and I hope you enjoyed your time in Germany. Seems like you were certainly as stunned as I was seeing this insane collection of automobilia 😄
Went there this spring with my son, on our annual roadtrip-weekend. Beautiful Collection in a remarkable building. We live an hour away from the region Sauerland, where the Museum is located; when you go there, be sure to combine it with a tour in the surroundings. Very pretty. Nice to see the host of one of the channels I follow go there👍🏻 Fun video !
You are not the odd man out on the 190. That is my favorite car, with the Evo II a close second. I have a couple German friends who have mentioned this place as somewhere we need to visit when I eventually make the trip over there, and now I see why. That looks like heaven.
Hell yeah Mike! I love the Hamilton comment. Lewis winning another championship in a Ferrari would be epic. Thanks for taking us on this tour. Very cool.
Thanks Mike, a truly outstanding collection, I have to say your video production is excellent. I love all your vids and builds but this one really showed how good they are getting, cheers again 🍺
That's so funny to hear your perspective on the 190. 1982, I was 11 and had just finished putting tires on a 450SEL 6.9 and a customer pulled up in a 190E. I hadn't seen one before and it looked like the cheapest pile of junk I'd ever seen. 😅 They grew on me over the years, but that first one was a shock.
I love this video. Grew up near this place and it has also some incredible country roads if anyone fancies a trip to this place - don't take the Autobahn exclusively. There are some nice lakes (e.g. the Sorpetalsperre) and some more areas to explore.
And i thought here in LA the Petersen Museum had a great collection of cars. This is going on the top of my lust now when i visit Germany. Thanks for sharing.
I`ve visited the Loh collection a few weeks ago. It's acutually such a beautiful place, made with so much love and everyone is super friendly! If you are in the region definitely go and take a look! But I have to say the most beautiful car was the Ferrari 250 GT swb in black and the german stripes, it is parked in the Ferrari collection across the big 5.
Wow that is some collection and the layout is fantastic. The 330 and 412 Ferraris are the best they ever made for looks. Seeing either of these is a treat
I can absolutely get on board with the 412P being the most beautiful car ever built. My personal choice is the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 which doesn't look too dissimilar to the 412P . Thanks for uploading such a cool collection, even though you did murder the pronunciation of Vignale and Tyrrell 😂 but still a very cool video Mike
Unbelievable collection. Definitely worth considering a trip just for this. I assume you’ve been to the Peterson and the Nethercutt? The vault at the Peterson is somewhat the opposite of this collection. Unbelievable mix of cars just in an underground parking garage, parked door to door with zero guardrails or displays. We went during Le Mans a few years ago and they had a 250GTO just sitting in the aisle way. As they told the story about Ickx walking to his GT40 and then winning that year, they pointed out the GT40 10 feet away. “Ickx went on to win after his protest in a GT40. This GT40” We walked past cars I’d only ever seen in magazines without even stoping to look at them as they just had row after row of unbelievable cars.
Nice Mike! Stunning collection. Have you ever seen the Louwman collection in The Hague in The Netherlands? It's the oldest private car collection in the world and has some stunning cars in the collection. I think you would definetly enjoy that too
Collection Schlumpf in Mulhouse is the best I have ever been to, but (like Loh which I saw in 2018) the racecars are what make it special.. not that you see a Bugatti Atlantic every day, but racecars have stories and soul
I'm sure this visit has filled you with inspiration for future projects, look forward to seeing the results. I'll add this to my list of museum visits.
Nice touch showing the vertical F1 cars while talking about the gravity of the cars displayed there. 😅👌 Hope you enjoyed your stay over here in Germany, did you get to the Nordschleife as well since it´s not far off from there? Can we expect a video for that if so? 😉
I'm surprised with the money in this collection, there wasn't the Ferrari 250GTO racecar. But there is some awesome stuff there. Would be amazing to see, but probably never will get to personally. Which is why I'm glad we have youtube.
wow, thank you for the video, I never knew about this collection, I am planning to be in Germany in October (just so happens Oktoberfest and my birthday perfectly align so we go most years) I will definitely be checking this out! Have you done the Porsche and Mercedes collections in Stuttgart? they are super cool too!
Lovely collection. Only man laughing in the room is the Sultan of Brunei - his collection, if you can call it that makes this look like child's play. Nothing will ever compare. Some have seen it too - it is beyond words apparently.
Yeah, but he only buys Cars and Cars and Cars, some mass products, some don't even drive. In this Collection you get to See so many limited driving Cars...
@@guillaumesandmayer7053 I know this because all those race cars exist in all kinds of other collections, they're pretty much all accounted for, he has none... he only has road cars and custom one-offs, most of which are rotting away in non temperature controlled warehouses, and the vast majority of those thousands, are basically copies of the same cars, like 50 of the same Ferrari model, that's not collecting, that's hoarding. He's basically a really wealthy hoarder. Mystique my ass.
What's remarkable is the fact that there are no crowds, you can actually photograph and properly document the cars. Thank you for the tour.
And we were there during normal business hours! What you see is a normal Thursday afternoon. :)
Oh wow! I thought that you had a deal that they are blocking off areas for you to film. Now it’s even more of a thing to look forward to if it’s that empty.
Not only that but nothing is roped off or has any barriers. You could walk right up to many of them!
The Museum is not located near a big city - so you can't expect a lot of walk-in tourists there. Good for the real petrol heads.

Man that collection is no joke. I'm with you SW, the 412p and it's 330P4 sisters in my opinion are the most beautiful cars ever built.
Certainly agree with you on the 412P. That, and the P3/4 and 206SP are the most gorgeous Ferrari race cars ever.
It's a close call between the 412 P and 206 sp.... Both are beautiful Italian racing machinery. Also the Rolfo Ferrari transporter looked amazing.
