    My Onefinity is on order now! I am in the Upstate SC and was in you neck of the woods a few weeks ago. I really enjoy your videos and the lessons. For 20 years worked on CNC programming and got gig in IT for longer than I could imagine. Now I'm getting back to my roots and look forward to learning more from you and the community.

    My onefinity is on the way. This will be my first CNC. I would say I am most overwhelmed with what software to use to design and create g-code from, as well as what bits to use, and how to dial in speeds/feeds. Although I don’t know exactly what I don’t know yet, I would be very interesting in attending. I would say anytime after 6 pm EST would work well, and the day of the week really doesn’t matter. Appreciate you putting this together. How we will be notified when it’s taking place?

    Thanks JR, wonderful idea! My unit should be arriving any week now and I'm preparing to setup my unit. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to using an enclosure as opposed to having the unit open? What are some of the biggest things you wished you'd known or done differently when first setting up your unit?

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous
      @TradeSkillersAnonymous  2 года назад

      Hi Nathan, thanks! I believe there are advantages to an enclosure. The two primary benefits are noise reduction and dust control. Also, if you have little ones that may wander into the shop, safety for curious fingers as well. What would I have done differently…..I’d have made sure my first enclosure had side access for the cleaning and lubricating that you should do periodically. Also, I wish I had studied more about the software while I was waiting for arrival. I wasn’t up to speed when the machine arrived, and I wish I was more “ready” than I was.
      Hope the videos are helpful and of value. If you would, please consider subscribing while you’re here. It would help me grow my channel and I’d appreciate that!

    Great idea! I've had my X50 Woodworker for about a month. I love the machine and use Aspire to design. I am starting to get the hang of it. The most difficult thing for me is the programming at this point. I have had just a few homing issues, but managed to figure it out. I love the OneFinity and community! There are so many resources for information and also aftermarket products that you can purchase to help with organization of the machine and set up. Great Channel! Really like your content!

    Excellent idea, J.R. I've had my X50WW for a few weeks now and am struggling with setting up a somewhat simple waste board for most...but a bit difficult and complex for me. I too have an IT background and am a Mac user. I've gone through all of the scenarios of setting up a computer and software. I keep coming back to sticking with my Mac and using Carbide Create for now. I'm sure my frustrations can easily be solved. Just need a little push. Any day works for me seeing that I am now retired. Late morning or later is best too. (I threw away my alarm clock.) :) Thanks for all you do for the CNC community, J.R.!

    This would be great. Waiting on my Woodworker right now. It would be nice if it can be done in a manner that is saved for both future reference and those who aren't able to attend live. So maybe Facebook live or RUclips live would be the best options?

    Love this idea. I would find a lot of value in being involved in the q&a, but also in taking the inevitable multi hour video and breaking it down into multiple 5 minute clips with the specific question and the how to tutorial. Lots of work, but would be a powerful learning tool.

    Thank you! We are excited to get going with our machine. We are stuck connecting it to the network. I’ve tried my login and password and it keeps telling me it’s wrong and I know it’s not. I know we can update via memory stick, but want to be able to connect directly. The router is in the same room as our machine. Also still deciding on what software to use. Really behind in getting going as I’m still working full time and working lots of overtime. Love this community and looking forward one day to helping someone else get started. Great honest tech info. I was going to purchase a X-Carve, however, after watching and absorbing your videos I have decided on the Onefinity. My one question is, can I run the controller directly from V-Carve Pro & will my laptop running that software plug right into the control box, or does the unit have to use the Onefinity control box software as some sort of "middleware"?

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous
      @TradeSkillersAnonymous  2 года назад

      I honestly don’t know if you can connect direct from a pc to the control box for file transfer. The ways I do know, are use a thumb drive, or send the file from the pc to the controller box via wifi (both pc and onefinity controller have to be on same network) wifi is my preferred method personally. I do recall people commenting about a direct pc connection on the Facebook group, but I didn’t pay it any attention because that was never my plan (again just personal preference).
      I’m super pleased with the machine, and am very glad to have added it to my shop. If I can ask for a favor, please consider subscribing while you’re here if you think it’s of value to you. It’d help me reach more people perhaps. Thanks, and have a great day!
