its because there is no such thing as a metal guitar or blues guitar or rock guitar etc, you can play anything on any guitar, its just a marketing trick guitar manufacturers uses in order to sell people more product. As long as you're not trying to play death metal on a single coil strat, the pickups wont be a problem. You want to play rock and metal? Just get a guitar with humbuckers and you shall be fine, i am playing guitar for years and i ve changed a lot of guitars in my music life. i have high end amp and the tone never changed no matter which guitar i play. because they all had humbuckers.
@Yettibuhayat 😂 You're not going to get the great clean tone from my C-1 hellraiser that you can from my Evil twin solo ii! No matter how hard you try. Also, you contradict yourself!
I took it a step further..... I bought the schecter red reign V1 Apocalypse FR It is an incredible guitar , I've had it about 5 months and still find myself looking it over and being very impressed. It plays so nice and those pickups are monsters. It also has a Floyd Rose 1500 and Grovers. I almost bought a Gibson V instead of this and I'm really glad I didn't. 🎸🤟🍻
That's because its exactly the opposite of Gibson . They have a correct headstock angle, they have astounding fit, finish, playability and they have great quality control. I've got a 56 goldtop and a 69 goldtop both have P90s . A few years ago I bought a Solo ll and added Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers now the Gibson are safe queens . IMO World Instruments Corp ( they build Schecters Korean made guitars) is one of the best manufacturers in the world. It's a shame PRS left them for just a few bucks on their bottom line. But I think the real reason was their quality was so good PRS couldn't justify their US made prices when compared to the Korean made guitars for a quarter of the price.
Love Schecter! You mention in your intro the Solo ii Custom, which I picked up last year based on your excellent review, and in fact I used it today to practice after I finished work. After owning it for over a year, I can say I love it even more now. So glad Schecter is so supportive of you and your channel, you absolutely deserve it!
I must have bought my Solo II apocalypse right around when this video was made. I still love it for metal songs. It’s the only non-Japanese guitar I kept after I started buying FGN stuff. And that Red reign is still as beautiful as the day I first saw it. 🎸🥰
Fun fact: The apocalypse II pickups that come stock in the CR6 are the exact same pickups as the see-thru apocalypse VI's on this guitar. I emailed the company a year or two ago to ask the difference and after several emails back and forth they confirmed that they're the same pickup. With the apocalypse VI pickups going for around $300 that means a CR6 is essentially a $400 guitar used, give or take, with $300 pickups in it.
I sent Schecter an email about the Apocalypse 2 and 6 pickups to see if there was any difference as well, this information is correct. Identical pickups with difference color.

Schecter guitars are some of my favorites. I have at least ten in my collection. Even their entry level guitars are worth buying. First time I ever tried one many years ago, it was a used Damien 6 I saw at Guitar Center for $129.00. It was the bat inlays that made it stand out to me. After I plugged it in and played it I thought the price was a mistake there was no way this guitar could be that cheap. It was like new for only $129.00! Needless to say I bought it and it's one I always love to play.
Schecter is one hell of a guitar brand, let me tell you that. The quality and sound of those instruments is right up there with the big names in the game. If you consider the price tag on them, it‘s mostly a no brainer. That being said: I just can‘t shake the aesthetics of a Gibson Les Paul. I know they got flaws and all but as I said, I just can‘t let go of them. It‘s like a piece of modern History. It simply feels like home to me. But for anyone who isn‘t a die hard fan of a specific model, Schecter got you covered. Just look at the variety and quality of instruments they put out year after year. Stunning to say the least. If there was no Gibson, Schecter would be my one and only.
Gorgeous looking guitar. I love the sound of the split coils. They absolutely ring out. Probably the best sound for a split coil humbucker that I have heard. Pity about the fret edges. You have always commented in the past that you've never seen bad frets on a schecter. Let's hope that they aren't slacking on the finishing.
Wow! Thanks Schecter, this is gorgeous..... Cool inlays. Oh 7 lbs! My 1/4 of leg stump, I would make handle that....I hope... Cool tones. Great sustain. Thanks Darrell.
I want this guitar. I love les Paul's, I love black n red, and I love sinister looking stuff. Plus besides solar I think schecter is the most metal guitar maker.
I recently purchased the c-1 apocalypse and it is a fantastic guitar! Love the way it sounds, plays and looks and it makes me play in ways I’ve never done before. I got inspired and started learning YYZ on this guitar.
I think its a nice thing they added the split option in a high output humbucker since i've heard stories were people disliked split humbuckers because they sounded more like a muddy single than say a more quacky single coil
