I tried vegetarian and my biweekly episodes did not let up. After two years, I was desperate and went carnivore. My diverticulitis immediately went into remission. It’s now been thirteen months and no episodes have occurred.

I can't eat eggs anymore, goes right thru me,was just diagnosed with diverticulitis n don't know what to eat anymore.Seems like everything blows my stomach up ridiculously. Just had surgery for giant kidney stones, n had no idea about the diverticulitis till I saw another dr.You would have thought with all the scans I've had in two years n my complaints about the pain it would have been diagnosed sooner.I was told it was fatty liver n possibly an ulcer .Its been two months since getting rid of the stones so I know that particular pain is gone.Id like to know why Dr's can't be more helpful in telling you what foods to eat for certain ailments. Thank God for the Dr's on utube.Im 77 n I remember years n years ago the Dr's actually had certain diets for different ailments n would make a copy for you to follow.

I'm 64 and just had a flare up that I think was triggered by NSAIDS I took for a bad tooth ache. I was thinking, if my old dog presented the kind of pain I was in, I would have put him out of his misery. No such luck for humans.

Good information especially work out your food intolerances. I have had diverticuli for many years and several bouts of diverticulitis. Reducing plant foods, particularly leaves and flowers eg broccoli, cauliflower, other brassicas, spinach etc as well as many fruits and all grains reduced my inflammation. I can immediately tell now when my gut is inflamed…discomfort, pain, stool changes etc. Small amount of gluten free oats the other day caused a 3 day upset 😮

Great informative and very easy to follow video. Thank you. I have IBS as well as diverticulosis. Tomato pips were found in the pouches of my diverticulitis because I used to eat them constantly. I recently found that salads, coleslaw and uncooked veg irritate and cause acid reflux. 🙁. I'm not enjoying food anymore but have found relief in Slippery Elm Root and freshly squeezed celery juice. Please can you do the roughage video and try to include these two possible treatments. I'm curious if they can cause harm.

So many of us are suffering from some form of IBS or another. Mine is relatively mild compared to many out there, but years of struggling to find what causes my bloating. Almonds (with the skin), corn, and bread have been proven, though a little sour dough is tolerated. Just been diagnosed with a diverticula, no symptoms. I would think that psyllium husk, (pure fibre) with bentonite, which I use occasionally during water fasts, might benefit us on a limited, more regular basis. Moving to a more carnivore, low carb diet has improved my symptoms, by the way.

My mother is doing much better drinking marshmallow and wild yam root herbal tea to reduce inflammation. For constipation try, slippery Elm or castor oil. Drinking tons of water to soften the stool helps. She's also getting relief from eating watermelon, honey dew melons, and smoothies. My mother seems to feel better when she eating plant base. The stomach doesn't work as hard digesting fruits and vegetables compared to meat. If you're constipated, meat is way more toxic sitting in your digestive tract than fruits or vegetables. If you get your nutrition from fruits and vegetables it's way easier to create bowel movement when you flush your system with water or green juices. To reduce the chances to infecting the DV it's important to have bowel movements daily. Avoid black tea and caffeine. The two best herbal teas for diverticulitis are: marshmallow and wild yam root. Exercise will also help create bowel movements. I bought, smoothies for diverticulitis on Amazon for my mother. Don't stop drinking water. You could add lemon to it, or add flavor to it with watermelon. I hope this helps.

Hi , through to my experience, its better to be easy on your meal when it's flare up for at least 24hours with very light and soft food, the kind of that hospital give to the patient. There is a very good information on the internet about the right diet for diverticulitis. Ask your GP to print it out for you . Or see the dietician.

I either get diarrhea or constipation or keep going back one way or the other. I see a Gastronologlist on October 31st 2024. Then I have been under stress because I got these letters from my health insurance. And they said my doctors wouldn't be in network with my insurance plan. So I would have to pay the remaining doctor bills. Then I have hypothyroidism is what was the start of all of these problems. And made the problems I have worse. I'm surprised I am still alive but these problems are scaring me to death. Because I use to be healthier.@@AdrianRyz

I'm not Inuit heritage and also had high cholesterol in 2017. I didn't remember how high but I was prescribed statins I never took because I thought I could control with diet. I've also been told by every doctor I've been to since that I need to avoid nuts and seeds which I ignored because I knew the new research showed no connection with diverticulitis. My total cholesterol is way low.. 150. I would love an in depth dive into fiber and who is benefitted and who is not

I was able to understand that my negative emotional reaction to experiences often activated an "Diver-attack". I never use hard pain reliever, narcotics or opiodes. I feel it was the unknown food allergies, teamed up with high stress factors, and a low emotional IQ kept the suffering on-going. I do have a doctor, that I do not fully trust, which led me to investigate for myself. Bran flakes almost kills me! I stopped all fried foods, dairy consumption, began to take Apple Cider Vinegar tablets. The attacks are fewer and farer between. I think if you do spinach, and plants should be blended in a green juice,no diary or meat, for me baby food diet, meditation and green juice and nutrients and a parasite cleanse, and walking in nature to give the body a reset, avoid acidic foods, glutamine, aloe Vera juice, slippery elm and marshmallow root.let the gut heal and do night castor oil packs.you will heal

Me too no pork no salad with steak I had my ninth attack last week. I was in the hospital for seven days and I'm home and I feel like crap. I'm on antibiotics by mouth they make me sick. I couldn't get the port in my arm for the IV antibiotics this time got infected, got another one put in and it bled so they had to take that out ,which last year I came home with antibiotics by IV and I'm very very very tired and very very emotional from this and does anybody else suffer that? Since they know the correlation between the gut and the brain, I'm afraid this is really depressing!! The pain and lethargic feeling I will get surgery probably in a month or so have to follow up with my surgeon since I had so many attacks where I could risk a preforation.
